¹Khi Sê-đê-kia lên làm vua, có hai mươi mốt tuổi; trị vì mười một năm tại thành Giê-ru-sa-lem. Mẹ vua tên là Ha-mu-ta, con gái của Giê-rê-mi, người Líp-na.

¹Zedekiah was twenty-one years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Hamutal the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.

²Vua ấy làm đều dữ trước mắt Ðức Giê-hô-va, như mọi việc vua Giê-hô-gia-kim đã làm.

²He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.

³Vì cớ Ðức Giê-hô-va nổi giận, thì điều đó xảy ra trong Giê-ru-sa-lem và Giu-đa, cho đến Ngài ném bỏ chúng nó khỏi trước mặt mình. Sê-đê-kia dấy loạn nghịch cùng vua Ba-by-lôn.

³For through the anger of Yahweh it happened in Jerusalem and Judah, until he had cast them out from his presence. Zedekiah rebelled against the king of Babylon.

⁴Ngày mồng mười, tháng mười, năm thứ chín đời vua Sê-đê-kia, thì Nê-bu-cát-nết-sa, vua Ba-by-lôn, đem cả đạo binh mình đi đánh Giê-ru-sa-lem, đóng trại nghịch cùng nó, và chúng nó lập đồn vây lấy.

⁴It happened in the ninth year of his reign, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came, he and all his army, against Jerusalem, and encamped against it; and they built forts against it round about.

⁵Thành bị vây mãi đến năm thứ mười một đời vua Sê-đê-kia.

⁵So the city was besieged to the eleventh year of king Zedekiah.

⁶Ngày mồng chín tháng tư, trong thành bị đói kém lắm, đến nỗi dân của đất nầy không có bánh nữa.

⁶In the fourth month, in the ninth day of the month, the famine was severe in the city, so that there was no bread for the people of the land.

⁷Vách thành bị phá vỡ, hết thảy những lính chiến bèn trốn ra khỏi thành lúc ban đêm, và do cửa ở giữa hai cái vách, gần vườn vua, mà đi ra; trong khi người Canh-đê đương vây thành, thì chúng nó chạy trốn hướng về A-ra-ba.

⁷Then a breach was made in the city, and all the men of war fled, and went forth out of the city by night by the way of the gate between the two walls, which was by the king’s garden; (now the Chaldeans were against the city all around;) and they went toward the Arabah.

⁸Nhưng đạo binh của người Canh-đê đuổi theo vua; khi đã đuổi kịp Sê-đê-kia tại đồng bằng Giê-ri-cô, thì quân vua chạy tan và bỏ vua lại.

⁸But the army of the Chaldeans pursued after the king, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho; and all his army was scattered from him.

⁹Người Canh-đê bắt vua và dẫn đến cùng vua Ba-by-lôn, tại Ríp-la, trong đất Ha-mát, nơi đó vua bị vua Ba-by-lôn xử đoán.

⁹Then they took the king, and carried him up to the king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath; and he gave judgment on him.

¹⁰Vua Ba-by-lôn khiến giết các con trai của Sê-đê-kia trước mắt người, cũng khiến giết mọi quan trưởng Giu-đa tại Ríp-la.

¹⁰The king of Babylon killed the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes: he killed also all the princes of Judah in Riblah.

¹¹Ðoạn sai móc mắt Sê-đê-kia, lấy xiềng xiềng lại. Vua Ba-by-lôn đem Sê-đê-kia về Ba-by-lôn, khiến giam trong ngục cho đến ngày người chết.

¹¹He put out the eyes of Zedekiah; and the king of Babylon bound him in fetters, and carried him to Babylon, and put him in prison until the day of his death.

¹²Ngày mồng mười tháng năm, năm thứ mười chín về đời Nê-bu-cát-nết-sa, vua Ba-by-lôn, thì Nê-bu-xa-a-đan, quan đầu thị vệ, hầu vua Ba-by-lôn, vào thành Giê-ru-sa-lem.

¹²Now in the fifth month, in the tenth day of the month, which was the nineteenth year of king Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, came Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard, who stood before the king of Babylon, into Jerusalem:

¹³Người sai đốt nhà Ðức Giê-hô-va, cung vua, và hết thảy nhà cửa trong thành Giê-ru-sa-lem. Mọi nhà lớn cũng đều phó cho lửa.

¹³and he burned the house of Yahweh, and the king’s house; and all the houses of Jerusalem, even every great house, burned he with fire.

¹⁴Rồi cả đạo binh của người Canh-đê thuộc quyền quan đầu thị vệ, phá hết thảy các vách thành chung quanh Giê-ru-sa-lem.

¹⁴All the army of the Chaldeans, who were with the captain of the guard, broke down all the walls of Jerusalem all around.

¹⁵Những kẻ rất nghèo trong dân, với những kẻ sống sót đương ở trong thành, những kẻ đã hàng đầu vua Ba-by-lôn, và từ trong đám đông sót lại, thì Nê-bu-xa-a-đan, qua đầu thị vệ, bắt đem đi làm phu tù hết thảy.

¹⁵Then Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive of the poorest of the people, and the residue of the people who were left in the city, and those who fell away, who fell to the king of Babylon, and the residue of the multitude.

¹⁶Nê-bu-xa-a-đan, quan đầu thị vệ, chỉ để những người rất nghèo khó lại trong đất, đặng trồng vườn nho và làm ruộng.

¹⁶But Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard left of the poorest of the land to be vineyard keepers and farmers.

¹⁷Quân Canh-đê phá tan các cột đồng trong nhà Ðức Giê-hô-va, cả đến đế tảng và biển đồng trong nhà Ðức Giê-hô-va, rồi đem những đồng đó về Ba-by-lôn.

¹⁷The Chaldeans broke the pillars of brass that were in the house of Yahweh, and the bases and the bronze sea that were in the house of Yahweh in pieces, and carried all the of their brass to Babylon.

¹⁸Những nồi, và, kéo, chậu thìa, cùng hết thảy khí mạnh bằng đồng về việc thờ phượng, chúng nó cũng đều đem đi nữa.

¹⁸They also took away the pots, the shovels, the snuffers, the basins, the spoons, and all the vessels of brass with which they ministered.

¹⁹Quan đầu thị vệ, lại khuân đi cả những chén, lư hương, chậu, nồi, chơn đèn, thìa, và bát, phàm những đồ gì làm bằng vàng thì lấy vàng, đồ gì làm bằng bạc thì lấy bạc.

¹⁹The captain of the guard took away the cups, the fire pans, the basins, the pots, the lampstands, the spoons, and the bowls; that which was of gold, in gold, and that which was of silver, in silver.

²⁰Còn như hai cột đồng, biển đồng, và mười hai con bò đồng dùng làm đế nó, mà vua Sa-lô-môn đã chế tạo cho nhà Ðức Giê-hô-va, đồng của những đồ ấy, thì không thể cân được.

²⁰They took the two pillars, the one sea, and the twelve bronze bulls that were under the bases, which king Solomon had made for the house of Yahweh. The brass of all these vessels was without weight.

²¹Mỗi cột cao mười tám thước, yêu vi mười hai thước; trong tầm phổng, dầy bằng bốn ngón tay.

²¹As for the pillars, the height of the one pillar was eighteen cubits; and a line of twelve cubits encircled it; and its thickness was four fingers. It was hollow.

²²Trên đầu cột có chúp đồng, cao năm thước, chung quanh chóp có lưới và trái lựu, đều bằng đồng cả. Cột kia giống như cột nầy, cũng có lưới và trái lựu.

²²A capital of brass was on it; and the height of the one capital was five cubits, with network and pomegranates on the capital all around, all of brass: and the second pillar also had like these, and pomegranates.

²³Bốn bề có chín mươi sáu trái lựu, và hết thảy những trái lựu đặt xung quanh lưới cọng là một trăm.

²³There were ninety-six pomegranates on the sides; all the pomegranates were one hundred on the network all around.

²⁴Quan đầu thị vệ bắt Sê-ra-gia, thầy tế lễ cả, và Sô-phô-ni, thầy tế lễ phó, cùng ba người giữ cửa đền.

²⁴The captain of the guard took Seraiah the chief priest, and Zephaniah the second priest, and the three keepers of the threshold:

²⁵Cũng bắt tại trong thành một hoạn quan coi lính chiến, bảy người cận thần của vua ở trong thành, một viên thơ ký của qua chánh lãnh binh, coi việc mộ dân trong đất, cùng sáu mươi người dân đất đó gặp tại trong thành.

²⁵and out of the city he took an officer who was set over the men of war; and seven men of those who saw the king’s face, who were found in the city; and the scribe of the captain of the army, who mustered the people of the land; and sixty men of the people of the land, who were found in the midst of the city.

²⁶Nê-bu-xa-a-đan, quan đầu thị vệ, đem hết thảy những tù ấy về cho vua Ba-by-lôn, tại Ríp-la.

²⁶Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard took them, and brought them to the king of Babylon to Riblah.

²⁷Vua Ba-by-lôn sai đánh và giết họ tại Ríp-la, trong đất Ha-mát. Ấy vậy người Giu-đa bị điệu đi làm phu tù khỏi đất mình.

²⁷The king of Babylon struck them, and put them to death at Riblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah was carried away captive out of his land.

²⁸Nầy là dân mà Nê-bu-cát-nết-sa đã đem đi làm phu tù; năm thứ bảy, ba ngàn hai mươi ba người Giu-đa.

²⁸This is the people whom Nebuchadnezzar carried away captive: in the seventh year three thousand twenty-three Jews;

²⁹Năm thứ mười tạm đời Nê-bu-cát-nết-sa, từ thành Giê-ru-sa-lem bắt đi tám trăm ba mươi hai người.

²⁹in the eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar he carried away captive from Jerusalem eight hundred thirty-two persons;

³⁰Năm thứ hai mươi ba đời vua ấy, Nê-bu-xa-a-đan, quan đầu thị vệ, đem đi bảy trăm bốn mươi lăm người Giu-đa. Hết thảy là bốn ngàn sáu trăm người.

³⁰in the three and twentieth year of Nebuchadnezzar Nebuzaradan the captain of the guard carried away captive of the Jews seven hundred forty-five persons: all the persons were four thousand and six hundred.

³¹Năm thứ ba mươi bảy, sau khi vua Giu-đa là Giê-hô-gia-kin bị bắt, tức là năm đầu vua Ba-by-lôn là Ê-vinh-Mê-rô-đác mới lên ngôi, ngày hai mươi lăm tháng mười hai, vua nầy trả lại chức vua cho Giê-hô-gia-kin vua Giu-đa, và đem ra khỏi ngục;

³¹It happened in the seven and thirtieth year of the captivity of Jehoiachin king of Judah, in the twelfth month, in the five and twentieth day of the month, that Evilmerodach king of Babylon, in the first year of his reign, lifted up the head of Jehoiachin king of Judah, and brought him forth out of prison;

³²lấy lời lành nói với, và lập ngôi người cai hơn ngôi các vua cùng ở với mình tại Ba-by-lôn.

³²and he spoke kindly to him, and set his throne above the throne of the kings who were with him in Babylon,

³³Lại sai đổi áo tù, Giê-hô-gia-kin đến ngồi bàn với vua trọn đời mình.

³³and changed his prison garments. Jehoiachin ate bread before him continually all the days of his life:

³⁴Giê-hô-gia-kin còn sống bao lâu, thì vua Ba-by-lôn ban đồ cần dùng hằng ngày cho mãi mãi, trọn đờai người.

³⁴and for his allowance, there was a continual allowance given him by the king of Babylon, every day a portion until the day of his death, all the days of his life.
