1Then all Israel gathered themselves to David to Hebron, saying, “Behold, we are your bone and your flesh.
1大衛受膏作猶大王（撒下5:1~3）那時，以色列眾人聚集到希伯崙去見大衛，說：“看哪，我們原是你的骨肉。
2In times past, even when Saul was king, it was you who led out and brought in Israel. Yahweh your God said to you, ‘You shall be shepherd of my people Israel, and you shall be prince over my people Israel.’”
2從前掃羅作王的時候，是你率領以色列人出入征戰；耶和華你的 神曾對你說過：‘你要牧養我的人民以色列，你要作我的人民以色列的領袖。’”
3So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and David made a covenant with them in Hebron before Yahweh; and they anointed David king over Israel, according to the word of Yahweh by Samuel.
3於是以色列的眾長老都來到希伯崙見大衛王，大衛就在希伯崙，在耶和華面前與他們立約，他們就按照耶和華藉著撒母耳所說的話，膏立大衛作王治理以色列。
4David and all Israel went to Jerusalem (the same is Jebus); and the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, were there.
4大衛攻取耶路撒冷（撒下5:6~10）大衛和以色列眾人來到耶路撒冷，耶路撒冷就是耶布斯。那時，當地的居民耶布斯人住在那裡。
5The inhabitants of Jebus said to David, “You shall not come in here.” Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion. The same is the city of David.
5耶布斯的居民對大衛說：“你不能進這裡來。”可是大衛佔領了錫安的堡壘，錫安就是大衛城。
6David said, “Whoever strikes the Jebusites first shall be chief and captain.” Joab the son of Zeruiah went up first, and was made chief.
6大衛說：“誰首先攻打耶布斯人，誰就必作首領和元帥。”洗魯雅的兒子約押首先上去，就作了首領。
7David lived in the stronghold; therefore they called it the city of David.
7大衛住在堡壘中，因此人把那堡壘稱為大衛城。
8He built the city all around, from Millo even around; and Joab repaired the rest of the city.
8大衛又重建四周的城牆，從米羅起，以至城的周圍；那城其餘的部分由約押修建。
9David grew greater and greater; for Yahweh of Armies was with him.
9大衛日漸強盛，因為萬軍之耶和華與他同在。
10Now these are the chief of the mighty men whom David had, who showed themselves strong with him in his kingdom, together with all Israel, to make him king, according to the word of Yahweh concerning Israel.
10大衛的勇士（撒下23:8~39）以下這些人是大衛眾勇士的首領，就是全力幫助他得國的，又與以色列人照著耶和華對以色列人所說的話一同膏立他作王。
11This is the number of the mighty men whom David had: Jashobeam, the son of a Hachmonite, the chief of the thirty; he lifted up his spear against three hundred and killed them at one time.
11這是大衛眾勇士的數目：哈革摩尼的兒子雅朔班，是三十勇士的首領；他揮舞矛槍，只一次就殺死了三百人。
12After him was Eleazar the son of Dodo, the Ahohite, who was one of the three mighty men.
12其次是亞合人朵多的兒子以利亞撒，他是三勇士之一；
13He was with David at Pasdammim, and there the Philistines were gathered together to battle, where there was a plot of ground full of barley; and the people fled from before the Philistines.
13他從前與大衛在巴斯．達閔，非利士人聚集在那裡預備作戰。那裡有塊長滿大麥的田；眾人從非利士人面前逃跑了。
14They stood in the midst of the plot, and defended it, and killed the Philistines; and Yahweh saved them by a great victory.
14他們卻站在那塊田中間，保護了那塊田，擊殺了非利士人；這樣耶和華拯救了以色列人，使他們獲得極大的勝利。
15Three of the thirty chief men went down to the rock to David, into the cave of Adullam; and the army of the Philistines were encamped in the valley of Rephaim.
15三十個首領中有三個，下到亞杜蘭洞附近的磐石那裡去見大衛；非利士人的軍隊在利乏音谷安營。
16David was then in the stronghold, and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Bethlehem.
16那時大衛在山寨中，非利士人的駐軍在伯利恆。
17David longed, and said, “Oh that one would give me water to drink of the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!”
17大衛渴望說：“誰能把伯利恆城門旁邊池中的水，拿來給我喝！”
18The three broke through the army of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: but David would not drink of it, but poured it out to Yahweh,
18這三個勇士就衝過非利士人的軍營，從伯利恆城門旁邊的池裡取水，帶到大衛那裡去，大衛卻不肯喝，把水傾在耶和華面前，
19and said, “My God forbid it me, that I should do this! Shall I drink the blood of these men who have put their lives in jeopardy?” For they risked their lives to bring it. Therefore he would not drink it. The three mighty men did these things.
19說：“在我的 神面前，我絕對不可以這樣作，我怎能喝這些冒生命危險的人的血呢？因為這是他們冒生命危險取回來的。”因此大衛不肯喝這水。這是三個勇士所行的事。
20Abishai, the brother of Joab, he was chief of the three; for he lifted up his spear against three hundred and killed them, and had a name among the three.
20約押的兄弟亞比篩，是三個勇士的首領；他揮舞矛槍刺死了三百人，因此在三個勇士中贏得了名聲。
21Of the three, he was more honorable than the two, and was made their captain: however he didn’t attain to the three.
21他在這三個勇士中，是最尊貴的，只是還不及前三個勇士。
22Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man of Kabzeel, who had done mighty deeds, he killed the two sons of Ariel of Moab: he went down also and killed a lion in the midst of a pit in time of snow.
22耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅，是甲薛族的勇士，曾有偉大的作為；他擊殺了摩押人亞利伊勒的兩個兒子，又在下雪的日子，下到坑中去擊殺了一隻獅子。
23He killed an Egyptian, a man of great stature, five cubits high; and in the Egyptian’s hand was a spear like a weaver’s beam; and he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian’s hand, and killed him with his own spear.
23他又殺死了一個身高兩百多公分的埃及人。這埃及人手裡拿著矛槍，好像織布機軸，比拿雅只拿著棍子下去會他，竟從那埃及人手中把矛槍奪了過來，再用他的矛槍把他殺死。
24Benaiah the son of Jehoiada did these things, and had a name among the three mighty men.
24這是耶何耶大的兒子比拿雅所行的事，因此在三個勇士中贏得名聲。
25Behold, he was more honorable than the thirty, but he didn’t attain to the three: and David set him over his guard.
25他比那三十個勇士更有聲望，只是還不及前三個勇士。大衛立他作侍衛長。
26Also the mighty men of the armies: Asahel the brother of Joab, Elhanan the son of Dodo of Bethlehem,
26軍中勇士有約押的兄弟亞撒黑、伯利恆人朵多的兒子伊勒哈難、
27Shammoth the Harorite, Helez the Pelonite,
27哈律人沙瑪、比倫人希利斯、
28Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite, Abiezer the Anathothite,
28提哥亞人益吉的兒子以拉、亞拿突人亞比以謝、
29Sibbecai the Hushathite, Ilai the Ahohite,
29戶沙人亞比該、亞合人以來、
30Maharai the Netophathite, Heled the son of Baanah the Netophathite,

31Ithai the son of Ribai of Gibeah of the children of Benjamin, Benaiah the Pirathonite,

36Hepher the Mecherathite, Ahijah the Pelonite,

37Hezro the Carmelite, Naarai the son of Ezbai,
37迦密人希斯羅、伊斯拜的兒子拿萊、
38Joel the brother of Nathan, Mibhar the son of Hagri,
38拿單的兄弟約珥、哈基利的兒子彌伯哈、
39Zelek the Ammonite, Naharai the Berothite, the armor bearer of Joab the son of Zeruiah,
39亞捫人洗勒、比錄人拿哈萊；拿哈萊是替洗魯雅的兒子約押拿兵器的。
40Ira the Ithrite, Gareb the Ithrite,
40以帖人以拉、以帖人迦立、
41Uriah the Hittite, Zabad the son of Ahlai,
41赫人烏利亞、亞萊的兒子撒拔、
42Adina the son of Shiza the Reubenite, a chief of the Reubenites, and thirty with him,
42流本支派示撒的兒子亞第拿，他是流本支派的一個首領，有三十人跟隨他。
43Hanan the son of Maacah, and Joshaphat the Mithnite,
43瑪迦的兒子哈難、彌特尼人約沙法、
44Uzzia the Ashterathite, Shama and Jeiel the sons of Hotham the Aroerite,
44亞施他拉人烏西亞、亞羅珥人何坦的兒子沙瑪和耶利、
45Jediael the son of Shimri, and Joha his brother, the Tizite,
45提洗人申利的兒子耶疊和他的兄弟約哈、
46Eliel the Mahavite, and Jeribai, and Joshaviah, the sons of Elnaam, and Ithmah the Moabite,

47Eliel, and Obed, and Jaasiel the Mezobaite.
