1It happened, when David and his men had come to Ziklag on the third day, that the Amalekites had made a raid on the South, and on Ziklag, and had struck Ziklag, and burned it with fire,
1亞瑪力人焚掠洗革拉第三天，大衛和跟隨他的人到了洗革拉。那時亞瑪力人襲擊了南地和洗革拉。他們攻破了洗革拉，又放火焚燒。
2and had taken captive the women and all who were therein, both small and great. They didn’t kill any, but carried them off, and went their way.
2他們把婦女和城裡所有的人，無論大小都擄走了。他們沒有殺人，都帶著他們從原路回去了。
3When David and his men came to the city, behold, it was burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captive.
3大衛和跟隨他的人到了那城，看見城已經被火燒毀，他們的妻子、兒女都被擄走了，
4Then David and the people who were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep.
4就放聲大哭，直哭到沒有力氣再哭。
5David’s two wives were taken captive, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite.
5大衛的兩個妻子，耶斯列人亞希暖和作過拿八妻子的迦密人亞比該，也都被擄去了。
6David was greatly distressed; for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David strengthened himself in Yahweh his God.
6大衛處境非常困難，因為眾人都為自己的兒女心中苦惱，說要用石頭打死大衛；但大衛靠著耶和華他的 神堅強起來。
7David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelech, “Please bring me here the ephod.” Abiathar brought the ephod to David.
7大衛追殺亞瑪力人大衛對亞希米勒的兒子、亞比亞他祭司說：“請你把以弗得帶到我這裡來。”亞比亞他就把以弗得帶到大衛那裡去。
8David inquired of Yahweh, saying, “If I pursue after this troop, shall I overtake them?” He answered him, “Pursue; for you shall surely overtake them, and shall without fail recover all.”
8大衛求問耶和華說：“我可以追趕這群匪徒嗎？我可以追上他們嗎？”耶和華回答他：“你可以追趕，你必定追上，也必定把一切救回來。”
9So David went, he and the six hundred men who were with him, and came to the brook Besor, where those who were left behind stayed.
9於是大衛和跟隨他的六百人出發。他們到了比梭溪，有些跟不上的就留在那裡。
10But David pursued, he and four hundred men; for two hundred stayed behind, who were so faint that they couldn’t go over the brook Besor.
10有二百人太疲乏，不能渡過比梭溪，就留在那裡，大衛和四百人繼續追趕。
11They found an Egyptian in the field, and brought him to David, and gave him bread, and he ate; and they gave him water to drink.
11他們在田野裡遇見一個埃及人，就把他帶到大衛那裡。他們給他飯吃，又給他水喝。
12They gave him a piece of a cake of figs, and two clusters of raisins. when he had eaten, his spirit came again to him; for he had eaten no bread, nor drunk any water, three days and three nights.
12又給他一塊無花果餅，兩個葡萄餅。他吃了，精神就恢復過來，因為他已經三天三夜沒有吃東西，沒有喝水了。
13David asked him, “To whom do you belong? Where are you from?” He said, “I am a young man of Egypt, servant to an Amalekite; and my master left me, because three days ago I fell sick.
13大衛問他：“你是屬誰的？你從哪裡來？”他回答：“我是個埃及的青年人，是亞瑪力人的奴僕。因為我三天前病了，我的主人就把我丟棄了。
14We made a raid on the South of the Cherethites, and on that which belongs to Judah, and on the South of Caleb; and we burned Ziklag with fire.”
14我們侵襲了基利提的南方和屬猶大地的南方，以及迦勒地的南方，又用火燒了洗革拉。”
15David said to him, “Will you bring me down to this troop?” He said, “Swear to me by God that you will neither kill me, nor deliver me up into the hands of my master, and I will bring you down to this troop.”
15大衛對他說：“你願意帶我下到那一群匪徒那裡嗎？”他回答：“如果你指著 神向我起誓，不殺死我，也不把我交在我主人手裡，我就帶你下到那一群匪徒那裡去。”
16When he had brought him down, behold, they were spread around over all the ground, eating, drinking, and dancing, because of all the great spoil that they had taken out of the land of the Philistines, and out of the land of Judah.
16他帶大衛下去。匪徒們都分散在各處，正在吃喝、跳舞，因為他們從非利士地和猶大地搶來的戰利品很多。
17David struck them from the twilight even to the evening of the next day. Not a man of them escaped from there, except four hundred young men, who rode on camels and fled.
17大衛擊殺他們，從黃昏直到次日的晚上。除了四百個騎駱駝的年輕人逃跑了以外，他們當中一個人也沒有逃脫。
18David recovered all that the Amalekites had taken; and David rescued his two wives.
18亞瑪力人搶去的一切，大衛都救回來了，也救回了他的兩個妻子。
19There was nothing lacking to them, neither small nor great, neither sons nor daughters, neither spoil, nor anything that they had taken to them. David brought back all.
19無論大小，不分男女，無論是他們搶來的，或是被人擄去的，大衛都奪回來，沒有失落一樣。
20David took all the flocks and the herds, which they drove before those other livestock, and said, “This is David’s spoil.”
20大衛奪了所有的羊群和牛群，跟從大衛的人把牠們趕到原有的群畜面前，說：“這是大衛的戰利品。”
21David came to the two hundred men, who were so faint that they could not follow David, whom also they had made to stay at the brook Besor; and they went forth to meet David, and to meet the people who were with him. When David came near to the people, he greeted them.
21定分掠物的條例大衛來到那二百人那裡，那些人因太疲乏不能跟隨大衛去，而留在比梭溪旁；他們出來迎接大衛和跟隨他的眾人。大衛接近眾人的時候，就向他們問安。
22Then all the wicked men and base fellows, of those who went with David, answered and said, “Because they didn’t go with us, we will not give them anything of the spoil that we have recovered, except to every man his wife and his children, that he may lead them away, and depart.”
22與大衛一起去的那些人中，有些惡人和流氓說：“他們沒有和我們一起去，我們就不把奪回來的戰利品分給他們，只把他們各人的妻子和兒子還給他們，讓他們領回去就是了。”
23Then David said, “You shall not do so, my brothers, with that which Yahweh has given to us, who has preserved us, and delivered the troop that came against us into our hand.
23大衛說：“兄弟們，耶和華賜給我們的，你們不可以這樣作。他保護了我們，又把那些攻擊我們的匪徒交在我們手裡。
24Who will listen to you in this matter? For as his share is who goes down to the battle, so shall his share be who tarries by the baggage: they shall share alike.”
24這事誰要聽從你們呢？下戰場的得多少，留守武器的也得多少，應當大家平分。”
25It was so from that day forward, that he made it a statute and an ordinance for Israel to this day.
25從那天起，大衛定此為以色列的律例典章，直到今日。
26When David came to Ziklag, he sent of the spoil to the elders of Judah, even to his friends, saying, “Behold, a present for you of the spoil of the enemies of Yahweh.”
26送禮給猶大各城大衛到了洗革拉，就從戰利品中取一部分送給他的朋友、猶大的長老，說：“看哪，這是從耶和華的仇敵那裡得來的戰利品，送給你們作禮物。”
27He sent it to those who were in Bethel, and to those who were in Ramoth of the South, and to those who were in Jattir,
27他送禮物給在伯特利的、在南地拉末的、在雅提珥的、
28and to those who were in Aroer, and to those who were in Siphmoth, and to those who were in Eshtemoa,
28在亞羅珥的、在息末的、在以實提莫的、
29and to those who were in Racal, and to those who were in the cities of the Jerahmeelites, and to those who were in the cities of the Kenites,
29在拉哈勒的、在耶拉蔑各城的、在基尼各城的、
30and to those who were in Hormah, and to those who were in Borashan, and to those who were in Athach,
30在何珥瑪的、在歌拉珊的、在亞撻的、
31and to those who were in Hebron, and to all the places where David himself and his men used to stay.
31在希伯崙的人，又送給一切大衛及其跟隨者所到過之地的人。
