1Now David was old and full of days; and he made Solomon his son king over Israel.
1利未人的职务和班次
2He gathered together all the princes of Israel, with the priests and the Levites.
2大卫召集了以色列的众领袖、祭司和利未人。
3The Levites were numbered from thirty years old and upward: and their number by their polls, man by man, was thirty-eight thousand.
3利未人自三十岁以上的都被数点；按统计，他们男丁的数目，共有三万八千人。
4David said, “Of these, twenty-four thousand were to oversee the work of the house of Yahweh; six thousand were officers and judges;
4其中有二万四千人，监管耶和华殿宇的工作；有六千人作官长和审判官；
5four thousand were doorkeepers; and four thousand praised Yahweh with the instruments which I made, for giving praise.”
5有四千人作守门的，又有四千人用大卫所做（“大卫所做”原文作“我做”）的乐器赞美耶和华。
6David divided them into divisions according to the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
6大卫把利未的儿子革顺、哥辖和米拉利的子孙，分成班次。
7Of the Gershonites: Ladan and Shimei.
7革顺的子孙有拉但和示每。
8The sons of Ladan: Jehiel the chief, and Zetham, and Joel, three.
8拉但的儿子是：长子耶歇，还有西坦和约珥，共三人。
9The sons of Shimei: Shelomoth, and Haziel, and Haran, three. These were the heads of the fathers’ households of Ladan.
9示每的儿子有示罗密、哈薛和哈兰，共三人。以上这些人是拉但家族的首领。
10The sons of Shimei: Jahath, Zina, and Jeush, and Beriah. These four were the sons of Shimei.
10示每的儿子是雅哈、细拿、耶乌施和比利亚；这四人都是示每的儿子。
11Jahath was the chief, and Zizah the second: but Jeush and Beriah didn’t have many sons; therefore they became a fathers’ house in one reckoning.
11雅哈是长子，细撒是次子；耶乌施和比利亚的子孙不多，所以合为一个家族，同归一个班次。
12The sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, four.
12哥辖的儿子是暗兰、以斯哈、希伯伦和乌薛，共四人。
13The sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses; and Aaron was separated, that he should sanctify the most holy things, he and his sons, forever, to burn incense before Yahweh, to minister to him, and to bless in his name, forever.
13暗兰的儿子是亚伦和摩西。亚伦和他的子孙永远被分别出来，献上至圣之物；在耶和华面前烧香，服事他，奉他的名祝福，直到永远。
14But as for Moses the man of God, his sons were named among the tribe of Levi.
14至于神人摩西，他的子孙记在利未支派的册上。
15The sons of Moses: Gershom and Eliezer.
15摩西的儿子是革舜和以利以谢。
16The sons of Gershom: Shebuel the chief.
16革舜的长子是细布业。
17The sons of Eliezer were: Rehabiah the chief; and Eliezer had no other sons; but the sons of Rehabiah were very many.
17以利以谢的儿子是利哈比雅；以利以谢没有别的儿子，利哈比雅却有很多儿子。
18The sons of Izhar: Shelomith the chief.
18以斯哈的长子是示罗密。
19The sons of Hebron: Jeriah the chief, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.
19希伯伦的儿子是：长子耶利雅、次子亚玛利亚、三子雅哈悉、四子耶加面。
20The sons of Uzziel: Micah the chief, and Isshiah the second.
20乌薛的儿子是：长子米迦、次子耶西雅。
21The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. The sons of Mahli: Eleazar and Kish.
21米拉利的儿子是抹利和母示；抹利的儿子是以利亚撒和基士。
22Eleazar died, and had no sons, but daughters only: and their brothers the sons of Kish took them as wives.
22以利亚撒死了，没有儿子，只有女儿；基士的儿子们，就是他们的亲族，娶了她们为妻。
23The sons of Mushi: Mahli, and Eder, and Jeremoth, three.
23母示的儿子是末力、以得和耶利摩，共三人。
24These were the sons of Levi after their fathers’ houses, even the heads of the fathers’ houses of those who were counted individually, in the number of names by their polls, who did the work for the service of the house of Yahweh, from twenty years old and upward.
24以上这些是利未的子孙，按着他们的家族，各家的首领，照着男丁的名字被数点，二十岁以上的，都是办理耶和华殿的事务的。
25For David said, “Yahweh, the God of Israel, has given rest to his people; and he dwells in Jerusalem forever.
25因为大卫曾说：“耶和华以色列的 神已经使他的子民得享安宁，他自己永远住在耶路撒冷。
26Also the Levites will no longer need to carry the tabernacle and all its vessels for its service.”
26利未人不必再抬帐幕和其中所使用的一切器皿了。”
27For by the last words of David the sons of Levi were numbered, from twenty years old and upward.
27按着大卫临终所吩咐的话，利未人从二十岁以上的都被数点了。
28For their office was to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of Yahweh, in the courts, and in the rooms, and in the purifying of all holy things, even the work of the service of God’s house;
28他们的职任是协助亚伦的子孙，办理耶和华殿的事务，管理院子、厢房和洁净一切圣物，以及办理 神殿的事务；
29for the show bread also, and for the fine flour for a meal offering, whether of unleavened wafers, or of that which is baked in the pan, or of that which is soaked, and for all kinds of measure and size;
29又管理陈设饼、素祭细面，或无酵薄饼，或是煎盘烤的，或是用油调和的，以及管理各种量度的器具。
30and to stand every morning to thank and praise Yahweh, and likewise in the evening;
30每天早晨要侍立称谢和赞美耶和华，每天晚上也要这样；
31and to offer all burnt offerings to Yahweh, on the Sabbaths, on the new moons, and on the set feasts, in number according to the ordinance concerning them, continually before Yahweh;
31又要在安息日，每月初一日和指定的节日，按着数目照着规例，把燔祭不住地献在耶和华面前。
32and that they should keep the duty of the Tent of Meeting, and the duty of the holy place, and the duty of the sons of Aaron their brothers, for the service of the house of Yahweh.
32他们要看守会幕和圣所，以及看管他们在耶和华殿里办事的亲族，亚伦的子孙。
