1Solomon made affinity with Pharaoh king of Egypt, and took Pharaoh’s daughter, and brought her into the city of David, until he had made an end of building his own house, and the house of Yahweh, and the wall of Jerusalem all around.
1所罗门娶法老女儿为妻
2Only the people sacrificed in the high places, because there was no house built for the name of Yahweh until those days.
2不过在那些日子，人民仍然在邱坛上献祭，因为还没有为耶和华的名建造殿宇。
3Solomon loved Yahweh, walking in the statutes of David his father: only he sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.
3所罗门爱耶和华，遵行他父亲大卫的律例；只是他仍然在邱坛上宰杀和焚烧祭牲。
4The king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place. Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings on that altar.
4所罗门祈求智慧（代下1:6-12）有一次，王到基遍去献祭，因为那里有极大的邱坛。所罗门在那祭坛上献上了一千燔祭。
5In Gibeon Yahweh appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and God said, “Ask what I shall give you.”
5那天晚上在基遍，耶和华在梦中向所罗门显现； 神说：“你无论求什么，我必赐给你。”
6Solomon said, “You have shown to your servant David my father great loving kindness, according as he walked before you in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with you. You have kept for him this great loving kindness, that you have given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.
6所罗门说：“你仆人我父亲大卫以诚实、公义和正直的心在你面前行事为人，你就以极大的慈爱待他；你又为他存留这极大的慈爱，赐给他一个儿子坐在他的王位上，正如今日一样。
7Now, Yahweh my God, you have made your servant king instead of David my father. I am but a little child. I don’t know how to go out or come in.
7耶和华我的 神啊，现在你使仆人接续我的父亲大卫作王，但我还年轻，不知道应当怎样处事。
8Your servant is in the midst of your people which you have chosen, a great people, that can’t be numbered nor counted for multitude.
8仆人住在你拣选的子民中；这些子民很多，多得不能数算。
9Give your servant therefore an understanding heart to judge your people, that I may discern between good and evil; for who is able to judge this your great people?”
9所以，求你赐给仆人一颗明辨的心，可以判断你的子民，能辨别是非，因为谁能判断你这众多的子民呢？”
10The speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing.
10所罗门因为求这些事，就蒙主的喜悦。
11God said to him, “Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked for yourself long life, neither have asked riches for yourself, nor have asked the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern justice;
11 神对他说：“因为你求这事，不为自己求长寿，不为自己求财富，也不求你仇敌的性命，单单为自己求聪明可以明辨是非公平，
12behold, I have done according to your word. Behold, I have given you a wise and an understanding heart; so that there has been none like you before you, neither after you shall any arise like you.
12我就照着你所求的而行；赐给你一个智慧和明辨的心，在你以前没有人像你，在你以后也不会有人像你。
13I have also given you that which you have not asked, both riches and honor, so that there shall not be any among the kings like you, all your days.
13连你所没有求的，我也赐给你，就是财富、尊荣，以至你一生的年日，在列王之中没有一人能像你。
14If you will walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as your father David walked, then I will lengthen your days.”
14如果你遵行了我的道，谨守我的律例、诫命，正如你父亲大卫所行的，我就必延长你的寿数。”
15Solomon awoke; and behold, it was a dream. Then he came to Jerusalem, and stood before the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, and offered up burnt offerings, offered peace offerings, and made a feast to all his servants.
15所罗门醒来，原来是一个梦。于是他回到耶路撒冷，站在耶和华的约柜前，献上燔祭，又献上平安祭，也为他的众臣仆摆设筵席。
16Then two women who were prostitutes came to the king, and stood before him.
16智慧的判断有一天，有两个作妓女的妇人来见王，站在他面前。
17The one woman said, “Oh, my lord, I and this woman dwell in one house. I delivered a child with her in the house.
17其中一个妇人说：“我主啊，我和这妇人同住；她与我在房子里的时候，我生了一个孩子。
18It happened the third day after I delivered, that this woman delivered also. We were together. There was no stranger with us in the house, just us two in the house.
18我生了孩子以后的第三天，这妇人也生了一个孩子。我们都住在一起。除了我们两个人在房子里以外，再没有别人与我们一起在这房子里。
19This woman’s child died in the night, because she lay on it.
19夜间，这妇人睡觉的时候，压死了她的孩子。
20She arose at midnight, and took my son from beside me, while your handmaid slept, and laid it in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom.
20她却在半夜，趁着婢女睡着的时候，起来，从我身旁把儿子抱去，放在她的怀里；又把她死了的儿子放在我的怀里。
21When I rose in the morning to nurse my child, behold, it was dead; but when I had looked at it in the morning, behold, it was not my son, whom I bore.”
21第二天早上我起来，要给我的儿子吃奶的时候，发觉他死了。那天早晨我再仔细察看，发觉他并不是我所生的儿子！”
22The other woman said, “No; but the living is my son, and the dead is your son.” This said, “No; but the dead is your son, and the living is my son.” Thus they spoke before the king.
22那一个妇人说：“不！活的儿子是我的，死的儿子才是你的。”但这一个妇人说：“不！死的儿子是你的，活的儿子才是我的。”她们在王面前彼此争辩。
23Then the king said, “The one says, ‘This is my son who lives, and your son is the dead;’ and the other says, ‘No; but your son is the dead one, and my son is the living one.’”
23王说：“这个妇人说：‘活的儿子是我的，死的儿子才是你的’，那个妇人却说：‘不！死的儿子是你的，活的儿子才是我的。’”
24The king said, “Get me a sword.” They brought a sword before the king.
24王就吩咐：“给我拿一把刀来！”人就把刀带到王面前。
25The king said, “Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one, and half to the other.”
25王说：“把活的孩子劈成两半，一半给这个妇人，一半给那个妇人。”
26Then the woman whose the living child was spoke to the king, for her heart yearned over her son, and she said, “Oh, my lord, give her the living child, and in no way kill it!” But the other said, “It shall be neither mine nor yours. Divide it.”
26那活孩子的母亲因为爱子心切，就对王说：“我主啊，把那活的孩子给她吧，千万不可杀死他！”另一个妇人却说：“这孩子也不归我，也不归你，把他劈开吧！”
27Then the king answered, “Give her the living child, and in no way kill it. She is its mother.”
27王回答说：“把活孩子给这个妇人，千万不可杀死他，这个妇人实在是他的母亲。”
28All Israel heard of the judgment which the king had judged; and they feared the king: for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him, to do justice.
28以色列众人听见王判断的这案件，就都敬畏他，因为看见他心里有 神的智慧，能够判案。
