²Ahaziah fell down through the lattice in his upper room that was in Samaria, and was sick. So he sent messengers, and said to them, “Go, inquire of Baal Zebub, the god of Ekron, whether I will recover of this sickness.”

²有一天，亚哈谢在撒玛利亚，从楼上的窗户掉下来，他就病了；于是他差派使者，对他们说：“你们去求问以革伦的神巴力．西卜，我这个病到底能否复原？”

³But the angel of Yahweh “Yahweh” is God’s proper Name, sometimes rendered “LORD” (all caps) in other translations. said to Elijah the Tishbite, “Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and tell them, ‘Is it because there is no God The Hebrew word rendered “God” is “Elohim.” in Israel, that you go to inquire of Baal Zebub, the god of Ekron?

³但耶和华的使者对提斯比人以利亚说：“你动身上去迎着撒玛利亚王的使者，对他们说：‘你们去求问以革伦的神巴力．西卜，是因为以色列中没有　神吗？

⁴Now therefore thus says Yahweh, “You shall not come down from the bed where you have gone up, but shall surely die.”’” Elijah departed.

⁴因此，耶和华这样说：你必不能从你躺上去的那张床上下来，因为你必定死。’”于是以利亚去了。

⁵The messengers returned to him, and he said to them, “Why is it that you have returned?”

⁵众使者回到亚哈谢那里；他对他们说：“你们为什么回来呢？”

⁶They said to him, “A man came up to meet us, and said to us, ‘Go, return to the king who sent you, and tell him, “Thus says Yahweh, ‘Is it because there is no God in Israel, that you send to inquire of Baal Zebub, the god of Ekron? Therefore you shall not come down from the bed where you have gone up, but shall surely die.’”’”

⁶他们对王说：“有一个人上来迎着我们，又对我们说：‘去吧，回到那差派你们的王那里，对他说：耶和华这样说：你派人去求问以革伦的神巴力．西卜，是因为以色列中没有　神吗？因此，你必不能从你躺上去的那张床上下来，因为你必定死。’”

⁷He said to them, “What kind of man was he who came up to meet you, and told you these words?”

⁷王对他们说：“那上来迎着你们，又对你们说这番话的是个怎样的人？”

⁸They answered him, “He was a hairy man, and wearing a leather belt around his waist.” He said, “It is Elijah the Tishbite.”

⁸他们对王说：“那人穿着毛皮衣，腰间束上皮带。”王说：“这人必是提斯比人以利亚。”

⁹Then the king sent a captain of fifty with his fifty to him. He went up to him; and behold, he was sitting on the top of the hill. He said to him, “Man of God, the king has said, ‘Come down!’”

⁹于是王差派一个五十夫长和他的五十名手下到以利亚那里；那位五十夫长就上到以利亚那里去。他看见以利亚正坐在山顶上，就对以利亚说：“神人哪！王吩咐你下来。”

¹⁰Elijah answered to the captain of fifty, “If I am a man of God, let fire come down from the sky, and consume you and your fifty!” Fire came down from the sky, and consumed him and his fifty.

¹⁰以利亚回答五十夫长说：“如果我是神人，愿火从天降下，把你和你的五十名手下吞灭。”于是有火从天降下，吞灭了五十夫长和他的五十名手下。

¹¹Again he sent to him another captain of fifty and his fifty. He answered him, “Man of God, the king has said, ‘Come down quickly!’”

¹¹王再次派一个五十夫长和他的五十名手下到以利亚那里去。那五十夫长对以利亚说：“神人哪！王这样吩咐：‘你赶快下来。’”

¹²Elijah answered them, “If I am a man of God, let fire come down from the sky, and consume you and your fifty!” The fire of God came down from the sky, and consumed him and his fifty.

¹²以利亚回答他们说：“如果我是神人，愿火从天降下，把你和你的五十名手下吞灭。”于是　神的火从天降下，吞灭了五十夫长和他的五十名手下。

¹³Again he sent the captain of a third fifty with his fifty. The third captain of fifty went up, and came and fell on his knees before Elijah, and begged him, and said to him, “Man of God, please let my life, and the life of these fifty your servants, be precious in your sight.

¹³王又派出第三名五十夫长和他的五十名手下；那五十夫长来到，就双膝跪在以利亚面前，恳求他，对他说：“神人哪！愿我的性命和这五十个仆人的性命在你眼中看为宝贵。

¹⁴Behold, fire came down from the sky, and consumed the two former captains of fifty with their fifties. But now let my life be precious in your sight.”

¹⁴看哪！曾经有火从天降下，吞灭了先前两个五十夫长和他们各五十名手下；现在，愿我的性命在你眼中看为宝贵。”

¹⁵The angel of Yahweh said to Elijah, “Go down with him. Don’t be afraid of him.” He arose, and went down with him to the king.

¹⁵耶和华的使者对以利亚说：“你和他下去吧，不要怕他。”于是以利亚起来，和他下山到王那里去了。

¹⁶He said to him, “Thus says Yahweh, ‘Because you have sent messengers to inquire of Baal Zebub, the god of Ekron, is it because there is no God in Israel to inquire of his word? Therefore you shall not come down from the bed where you have gone up, but shall surely die.’”

¹⁶以利亚对亚哈谢说：“耶和华这样说：‘你差派使者去求问以革伦的神巴力．西卜，是因为以色列中没有　神可以求问吗？因此，你必不能从你躺上去的那张床上下来，因为你必定死。’”

¹⁷So he died according to the word of Yahweh which Elijah had spoken. Jehoram began to reign in his place in the second year of Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah; because he had no son.

¹⁷亚哈谢逝世亚哈谢果然死了，正如耶和华借以利亚所宣告的话。因为他没有儿子，他的弟弟约兰就接续他作王，那时是犹大王约沙法的儿子约兰第二年。

¹⁸Now the rest of the acts of Ahaziah which he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
