1In the twelfth year of Ahaz king of Judah, Hoshea the son of Elah began to reign in Samaria over Israel for nine years.

2He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, yet not as the kings of Israel who were before him.
2他行耶和华看为恶的事，只是不像他以前的以色列诸王。
3Against him came up Shalmaneser king of Assyria; and Hoshea became his servant, and brought him tribute.
3亚述王撒缦以色上来攻击他，他就臣服于他，并且向他进贡。
4The king of Assyria found conspiracy in Hoshea; for he had sent messengers to So king of Egypt, and offered no tribute to the king of Assyria, as he had done year by year: therefore the king of Assyria shut him up, and bound him in prison.
4后来，亚述王发觉何细亚阴谋反叛：他曾派使者去见埃及王梭，并且不再向亚述王献上贡物，像过去每年一样。亚述王就拿住他，把他囚在牢里。
5Then the king of Assyria came up throughout all the land, and went up to Samaria, and besieged it three years.
5亚述王攻陷撒玛利亚的原因亚述王上来攻击以色列全国各地，并且到撒玛利亚来，围城三年。
6In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took Samaria, and carried Israel away to Assyria, and placed them in Halah, and on the Habor, the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.
6何细亚在位第九年，亚述王占领了撒玛利亚，把以色列人掳到亚述去，徙置他们在哈腊，在哈博河和歌散河一带，以及在玛代人的各城。
7It was so, because the children of Israel had sinned against Yahweh their God, who brought them up out of the land of Egypt from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods,
7这是因为以色列人得罪了那曾带领他们从埃及王法老的手下离开埃及的耶和华他们的 神，去敬畏别的神。
8and walked in the statutes of the nations, whom Yahweh cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they made.
8他们随从耶和华从以色列人面前驱逐的外族人的风俗，以及以色列诸王奉行的风俗。
9The children of Israel did secretly things that were not right against Yahweh their God: and they built them high places in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen to the fortified city;
9以色列人也说了亵渎的话，顶撞耶和华他们的 神，并且在他们所有的城市，从哨站到设防城，为他们自己建筑邱坛。
10and they set them up pillars and Asherim on every high hill, and under every green tree;
10又在各高山顶上和每一棵青翠的树下竖立神柱和亚舍拉。
11and there they burnt incense in all the high places, as did the nations whom Yahweh carried away before them; and they worked wicked things to provoke Yahweh to anger;
11他们在各邱坛上献祭和焚香，好像耶和华从他们的面前掳去的外族人一样，又行恶事，使耶和华发怒。
12and they served idols, of which Yahweh had said to them, “You shall not do this thing.”
12他们又服事雕刻的偶像，耶和华曾警告他们不可以行这事。
13Yet Yahweh testified to Israel, and to Judah, by every prophet, and every seer, saying, “Turn from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets.”
13耶和华曾借着他的众先知和先见警告以色列人和犹大人说：“从你们的恶道上转回吧！谨守我的吩咐和我的律例，就是我曾吩咐你们的祖先，和借着我的仆人众先知传递给你们的一切律法。”
14Notwithstanding, they would not listen, but hardened their neck, like the neck of their fathers, who didn’t believe in Yahweh their God.
14可是他们不听从，反而硬着自己的颈项，好像他们的祖先，不信服耶和华他们的 神；
15They rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified to them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and followed the nations that were around them, concerning whom Yahweh had commanded them that they should not do like them.
15厌弃他的律例和他与他们的祖先订立的约，以及他对他们的警戒；却信从虚无的神，自己成为虚妄，跟从他们周围的外族人，耶和华曾吩咐他们不可跟从他们的行为。
16They forsook all the commandments of Yahweh their God, and made them molten images, even two calves, and made an Asherah, and worshiped all the army of the sky, and served Baal.
16他们丢弃耶和华他们 神的一切吩咐，为自己做了两个牛犊的铸像，又做亚舍拉，并且敬拜天上的万象和服事巴力；
17They caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, to provoke him to anger.
17他们又把儿女用火烧为祭，并且占卜，行法术，出卖自己去行耶和华看为恶的事，使他发怒。
18Therefore Yahweh was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight: there was none left but the tribe of Judah only.
18于是耶和华向以色列人大大发怒，把他们从自己面前赶走，只剩下犹大一个支派。
19Also Judah didn’t keep the commandments of Yahweh their God, but walked in the statutes of Israel which they made.
19连犹大人也不持守耶和华他们的 神的吩咐，随从以色列人所行的习俗。
20Yahweh rejected all the seed of Israel, and afflicted them, and delivered them into the hand of spoilers, until he had cast them out of his sight.
20耶和华就厌弃以色列人的后裔，使他们受苦，把他们交在抢掠他们的人的手中，直到把他们从自己的面前完全丢弃。
21For he tore Israel from the house of David; and they made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king: and Jeroboam drove Israel from following Yahweh, and made them sin a great sin.
21因为他自从使以色列从大卫家分裂出来后，他们就立了尼八的儿子耶罗波安作王，耶罗波安却引诱以色列人不去跟从耶和华，又使他们犯了大罪。
22The children of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam which he did; they didn’t depart from them;
22以色列人就随从耶罗波安所犯的一切罪恶，总不转离；
23until Yahweh removed Israel out of his sight, as he spoke by all his servants the prophets. So Israel was carried away out of their own land to Assyria to this day.
23以致最后耶和华把以色列人从自己的面前赶走，就像他借着自己的仆人众先知所说的。于是以色列人被掳离开自己的国土，往亚述去，直到今日。
24The king of Assyria brought men from Babylon, and from Cuthah, and from Avva, and from Hamath and Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel; and they possessed Samaria, and lived in the cities of it.
24亚述安置外族于撒玛利亚亚述王从巴比伦、古他、亚瓦、哈马和西法瓦音带人来，安置在撒玛利亚的城市，代替以色列人。他们就得了撒玛利亚作产业，住在它的城市中。
25So it was, at the beginning of their dwelling there, that they didn’t fear Yahweh: therefore Yahweh sent lions among them, which killed some of them.
25他们开始在那里居住的时候，并不敬畏耶和华，所以耶和华派狮子到他们中间，咬死他们好些人。
26Therefore they spoke to the king of Assyria, saying, “The nations which you have carried away, and placed in the cities of Samaria, don’t know the law of the god of the land. Therefore he has sent lions among them, and behold, they kill them, because they don’t know the law of the god of the land.”
26有人告诉亚述王说：“你所掳去，安置在撒玛利亚各城市的众民族不知道当地的神的规矩，所以他派狮子到他们中间。看哪，狮子咬死他们，因为他们不知道当地的神的规矩。”
27Then the king of Assyria commanded, saying, “Carry there one of the priests whom you brought from there; and let them go and dwell there, and let him teach them the law of the god of the land.”
27于是亚述王下令：“我从那里掳来的祭司中，要叫一个回到那里去。他要去住在那里，教导他们当地的神的规矩。”
28So one of the priests whom they had carried away from Samaria came and lived in Bethel, and taught them how they should fear Yahweh.
28于是从撒玛利亚被掳来的祭司中，有一个回去，住在伯特利，教导他们怎样敬畏耶和华。
29However every nation made gods of their own, and put them in the houses of the high places which the Samaritans had made, every nation in their cities in which they lived.
29但各族的人仍然制造自己的神像，安放在撒玛利亚人所造各邱坛的庙中；各族人在他们所居住的城市都这样作。
30The men of Babylon made Succoth Benoth, and the men of Cuth made Nergal, and the men of Hamath made Ashima,
30巴比伦人做了疏割．比讷像，古他人做了匿甲像，哈马人做了亚示玛像，
31and the Avvites made Nibhaz and Tartak; and the Sepharvites burnt their children in the fire to Adrammelech and Anammelech, the gods of Sepharvaim.
31亚瓦人做了匿哈和他珥他像，西法瓦音人用火焚烧自己的儿女，献给西法瓦音的神亚得米勒和亚拿米勒。
32So they feared Yahweh, and made to them from among themselves priests of the high places, who sacrificed for them in the houses of the high places.
32他们也惧怕耶和华，所以从他们中间选立邱坛的祭司，替他们在邱坛的庙里献祭。
33They feared Yahweh, and served their own gods, after the ways of the nations from among whom they had been carried away.
33他们既惧怕耶和华，又服事他们的神；从哪个民族掳来的，就按照哪个民族的习俗服事他们的神。
34To this day they do what they did before: they don’t fear Yahweh, neither do they follow their statutes, or their ordinances, or the law or the commandment which Yahweh commanded the children of Jacob, whom he named Israel;
34直到今日，他们仍是按照他们初时的习俗去行；他们不敬畏耶和华，行事不按他们的规例和典章，也不按耶和华曾吩咐雅各的子孙的律法和诫命；后来，耶和华给雅各起名为以色列。
35with whom Yahweh had made a covenant, and commanded them, saying, “You shall not fear other gods, nor bow yourselves to them, nor serve them, nor sacrifice to them;
35耶和华曾经和他们立约，又吩咐他们说：“你们不可崇敬别的神，不可跪拜他们，不可服事他们，也不可向他们献祭。
36but you shall fear Yahweh, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and with an outstretched arm, and you shall bow yourselves to him, and you shall sacrifice to him.
36但那曾用大能和伸出的膀臂把你们从埃及地领出来的耶和华，你们应当敬畏他，跪拜他和向他献祭。
37The statutes and the ordinances, and the law and the commandment, which he wrote for you, you shall observe to do forevermore. You shall not fear other gods.
37他写给你们的律例、典章、律法和诫命，你们要永远谨守遵行，不要崇敬别的神。
38You shall not forget the covenant that I have made with you; neither shall you fear other gods.
38他和你们所立的约你们不可忘记，不要崇敬别的神。
39But you shall fear Yahweh your God; and he will deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.”
39但要敬畏耶和华你们的 神，他必救你们脱离所有仇敌的手。”
40However they did not listen, but they did what they did before.
40可是他们没有听从，仍然照着他们起初的习俗去行。
41So these nations feared Yahweh, and served their engraved images. Their children likewise, and their children’s children, as their fathers did, so they do to this day.
41这样，这些民族一方面敬畏耶和华；另一方面又继续服事他们的偶像。他们的子子孙孙继续照着他们的祖先所行的去行，直到今日。
