1But the children of Israel committed a trespass in the devoted things; for Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, took some of the devoted things. Therefore Yahweh’s anger burned against the children of Israel.
1亚干犯罪
2Joshua sent men from Jericho to Ai, which is beside Beth Aven, on the east side of Bethel, and spoke to them, saying, “Go up and spy out the land.” The men went up and spied out Ai.
2以色列人战败那时，约书亚从耶利哥派人到伯特利东边，靠近伯．亚文的艾城去，吩咐他们说：“你们上去窥探那地。”那些人就上去，窥探艾城。
3They returned to Joshua, and said to him, “Don’t let all the people go up; but let about two or three thousand men go up and strike Ai. Don’t make all the people to toil there, for there are only a few of them.”
3他们回来，对约书亚说：“不需要全体人民都上去；只要大约二三千人就可以上去攻打艾城了；不必劳动全体人民都上那里去，因为那里的人很少。”
4So about three thousand men of the people went up there, and they fled before the men of Ai.
4于是人民中约有三千人上那里去，但他们竟在艾城的人面前逃跑了。
5The men of Ai struck about thirty-six men of them, and they chased them from before the gate even to Shebarim, and struck them at the descent. The hearts of the people melted, and became like water.
5艾城的人击杀了他们约三十六人；从城门前追赶他们，一直追到示巴琳；在山坡上把他们击溃；人民的心就极其惊怕。
6Joshua tore his clothes, and fell to the earth on his face before the ark of Yahweh until the evening, he and the elders of Israel; and they put dust on their heads.
6约书亚和众长老的求问约书亚就撕裂自己的衣服，和以色列人的长老，在耶和华的约柜前，一同俯伏在地，直到晚上，也把尘土撒在头上。
7Joshua said, “Alas, Lord Yahweh, why have you brought this people over the Jordan at all, to deliver us into the hand of the Amorites, to cause us to perish? I wish that we had been content and lived beyond the Jordan!
7约书亚说：“唉！主耶和华啊，你为什么领这人民过约旦河，为要把我们交在亚摩利人的手中，使我们灭亡呢？我们宁愿住在约旦河那边倒好。
8Oh, Lord, what shall I say, after that Israel has turned their backs before their enemies!
8主啊！以色列人既然在仇敌面前转身逃跑，我还有什么可说的呢？
9For the Canaanites and all the inhabitants of the land will hear of it, and will surround us, and cut off our name from the earth. What will you do for your great name?”
9迦南人和这地所有的居民听见了，就必围困我们，把我们的名字从这世上剪除，那时你为你的大名要怎样行呢？”
10Yahweh said to Joshua, “Get up! Why are you fallen on your face like that?
10耶和华的回答耶和华对约书亚说：“你起来，为什么这样脸伏在地呢？
11Israel has sinned. Yes, they have even transgressed my covenant which I commanded them. Yes, they have even taken of the devoted things, and have also stolen, and also deceived. They have even put it among their own stuff.
11以色列人犯了罪，违背了我吩咐他们的约定，因为他们取了那当毁灭的物，他们偷窃，并且说谎，又把那当毁灭的物放在自己的物件中。
12Therefore the children of Israel can’t stand before their enemies. They turn their backs before their enemies, because they have become devoted for destruction. I will not be with you any more, unless you destroy the devoted things from among you.
12所以，以色列人在他们的仇敌面前站立不住，在他们的仇敌面前转身逃跑，因为他们成了当毁灭的。如果你们不把那当毁灭的物从你们中间除掉，我就必不再与你们同在了。
13“Get up! Sanctify the people, and say, ‘Sanctify yourselves for tomorrow, for Yahweh, the God of Israel, says, “There is a devoted thing in the midst of you, Israel. You cannot stand before your enemies until you take away the devoted thing from among you.”
13你起来，要人民自洁，对他们说：‘你们要自洁，预备明天；因为耶和华以色列的 神这样说：以色列啊！你们中间有那当毁灭的物；除非你们把那当毁灭的物从你们中间除去，你们在仇敌的面前就不能站立得住。
14“‘In the morning therefore you shall be brought near by your tribes. It shall be that the tribe which Yahweh selects shall come near by families. The family which Yahweh selects shall come near by households. The household which Yahweh selects shall come near man by man.
14到了早晨，你们要按着支派前来，耶和华抽签抽中的支派，要按着宗族前来；耶和华抽签抽中的宗族，要按着家庭前来；耶和华抽签抽中的家庭，男丁要一个一个前来。
15It shall be, that he who is taken with the devoted thing shall be burnt with fire, he and all that he has, because he has transgressed the covenant of Yahweh, and because he has done a disgraceful thing in Israel.’”
15如果那藏有当毁灭的物的人被抽签抽中了，他和他所有的一切都要用火焚烧；因为他违背了耶和华的约，又因为他在以色列中作了愚昧的事。’”
16So Joshua rose up early in the morning and brought Israel near by their tribes. The tribe of Judah was selected.
16抽签抽中亚干约书亚清早起来，要以色列人按着支派前来；结果，犹大支派被抽签抽中了；
17He brought near the family of Judah; and he selected the family of the Zerahites. He brought near the family of the Zerahites man by man, and Zabdi was selected.
17他要犹大宗族前来，结果，谢拉的家族被抽签抽中了；他要谢拉家族的男丁一个一个前来，结果，撒底被抽签抽中了；
18He brought near his household man by man, and Achan, the son of Carmi, the son of Zabdi, the son of Zerah, of the tribe of Judah, was selected.
18他要撒底家中的男丁一个一个前来，结果，亚干被抽签抽中了，亚干是迦米的儿子、撒底的孙子、谢拉的曾孙，是属于犹大支派的。
19Joshua said to Achan, “My son, please give glory to Yahweh, the God of Israel, and make confession to him. Tell me now what you have done! Don’t hide it from me!”
19约书亚对亚干说：“我儿，我劝你把荣耀归给耶和华以色列的 神，向他认罪，告诉我你作了什么事，不可向我隐瞒。”
20Achan answered Joshua, and said, “I have truly sinned against Yahweh, the God of Israel, and this is what I have done.
20亚干认罪与受罚亚干回答约书亚，说：“我实在得罪了耶和华以色列的 神；我作过的事是这样的。
21When I saw among the spoil a beautiful Babylonian robe, two hundred shekels of silver, and a wedge of gold weighing fifty shekels, then I coveted them and took them. Behold, they are hidden in the ground in the middle of my tent, with the silver under it.”
21我在战利品中，看见了一件美丽的示拿衣服、二千二百八十克银子，和一条重五百七十克的金条；我因贪爱这些物件，就把它们拿去了；现在埋藏在我帐棚的地里，银子在底下。”
22So Joshua sent messengers, and they ran to the tent. Behold, it was hidden in his tent, with the silver under it.
22约书亚就派人跑到亚干的帐棚里，果然见到东西埋藏在那里，银子在底下。
23They took them from the middle of the tent, and brought them to Joshua and to all the children of Israel. They laid them down before Yahweh.
23他们就把东西从帐棚中拿出来，带到约书亚和以色列人那里，摆在耶和华面前。
24Joshua, and all Israel with him, took Achan the son of Zerah, the silver, the robe, the wedge of gold, his sons, his daughters, his cattle, his donkeys, his sheep, his tent, and all that he had; and they brought them up to the valley of Achor.
24约书亚和全体以色列人一起把谢拉的曾孙亚干和那银子、那件衣服、那金条，以及亚干的儿女、牛、驴、羊、帐棚和他所有的一切，都带上亚割谷去。
25Joshua said, “Why have you troubled us? Yahweh will trouble you this day.” All Israel stoned him with stones, and they burned them with fire and stoned them with stones.
25约书亚说：“你为什么给我们招惹灾祸呢？今天耶和华必使你遭受灾祸。”于是全体以色列人用石头把他打死。他们用石头打死他们以后，就把一切用火烧了。
26They raised over him a great heap of stones that remains to this day. Yahweh turned from the fierceness of his anger. Therefore the name of that place was called “The valley of Achor” to this day.
26众人又在亚干身上堆起了一大堆石头，这堆石头一直存到今日；于是耶和华就回心转意，不发烈怒。因此那地方名叫亚割谷，直到今日。
