¹Listen now to what Yahweh says: “Arise, plead your case before the mountains, and let the hills hear what you have to say.

¹责以色列人忘恩犯罪

²Hear, you mountains, Yahweh’s controversy, and you enduring foundations of the earth; for Yahweh has a controversy with his people, and he will contend with Israel.

²大山啊！你们要听耶和华的争辩。大地永久的根基啊！你们要听，因为耶和华与他的子民争辩，和以色列争论。

³My people, what have I done to you? How have I burdened you? Answer me!

³我的子民啊，我向你作了什么呢？我在什么事上叫你厌烦呢？你可以回答我。

⁴For I brought you up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage. I sent before you Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.

⁴我曾经把你从埃及地领上来，把你从为奴之家赎出来；我也差派了摩西、亚伦和米利暗在你前面行。

⁵My people, remember now what Balak king of Moab devised, and what Balaam the son of Beor answered him from Shittim to Gilgal, that you may know the righteous acts of Yahweh.”

⁵我的民哪！你们要追念，摩押王巴勒图谋过什么，比珥的儿子巴兰又答应了他什么，以及你们从什亭到吉甲所发生的事，好使你们知道耶和华公义的作为。”

⁶How shall I come before Yahweh, and bow myself before the exalted God? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old?

⁶　神要求的不是外表的献祭我朝见耶和华，在至高的　神面前叩拜，当献上什么呢？我朝见他的时候，当献上燔祭，当献上一岁的牛犊吗？

⁷Will Yahweh be pleased with thousands of rams? With tens of thousands of rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my disobedience? The fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?

⁷耶和华喜悦千千的公羊，或是万万的油河吗？为我的过犯，我可以献上我的长子吗？为我的罪恶，献上我亲生的孩子吗？

⁸He has shown you, O man, what is good. What does Yahweh require of you, but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?

⁸世人哪！耶和华已经指示你什么是善，他向你所要的又是什么；无非是要你行公义，好怜悯，谦虚谨慎与你的　神同行。

⁹Yahweh’s voice calls to the city, and wisdom sees your name: “Listen to the rod, and he who appointed it.

⁹诡诈的行为必受惩罚听啊！耶和华向这城呼叫，敬畏你的名就是智慧；支派和城里的会众啊！你们要听。

¹⁰Are there yet treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and a short ephah An ephah is a measure of volume (about 22 litres or about 2/3 of a bushel), and a short ephah is made smaller than a full ephah for the purpose of cheating customers. that is accursed?

¹⁰我怎能忘记恶人家中的不义之财，和那些可咒诅的小升斗呢？

¹¹Shall I be pure with dishonest scales, and with a bag of deceitful weights?

¹¹用不义的天平，和袋中诈骗的法码的人，我怎能算他为清洁呢？

¹²Her rich men are full of violence, her inhabitants speak lies, and their tongue is deceitful in their speech.

¹²城里的财主充满了强暴，其中的居民也说假话；他们口中的舌头是诡诈的。

¹³Therefore I also have struck you with a grievous wound. I have made you desolate because of your sins.

¹³因此我击打你，使你生病，因你的罪恶，使你荒凉。

¹⁴You shall eat, but not be satisfied. Your humiliation will be in your midst. You will store up, but not save; and that which you save I will give up to the sword.

¹⁴你要吃，却吃不饱；因你的腹中常有疾病。你要怀孕，却不能生下来；你生下来的，我都要交给刀剑。

¹⁵You will sow, but won’t reap. You will tread the olives, but won’t anoint yourself with oil; and crush grapes, but won’t drink the wine.

¹⁵你要撒种，却不得收割，你要榨橄榄油，却不得油抹身；你要榨葡萄汁，却不得酒喝。

¹⁶For the statutes of Omri are kept, and all the works of the house of Ahab. You walk in their counsels, that I may make you a ruin, and her inhabitants a hissing; And you will bear the reproach of my people.”

¹⁶你跟随了暗利的规例和亚哈家一切所行的，顺从了他们的计谋；因此，我必使你荒凉，使你（“你”原文作“她”）的居民被嗤笑；你们也必担当我民的羞辱。
