¹The lot for the tribe of the children of Judah according to their families was to the border of Edom, even to the wilderness of Zin southward, at the uttermost part of the south.

¹وكانت القرعة لسبط بني يهوذا حسب عشائرهم الى تخم ادوم برية صين نحو الجنوب اقصى التيمن.

²Their south border was from the uttermost part of the Salt Sea, from the bay that looks southward;

²وكان تخمهم الجنوبي اقصى بحر الملح من اللسان المتوجه نحو الجنوب.

³and it went out southward of the ascent of Akrabbim, and passed along to Zin, and went up by the south of Kadesh Barnea, and passed along by Hezron, went up to Addar, and turned about to Karka;

³وخرج الى جنوب عقبة عقربّيم وعبر الى صين وصعد من جنوب قادش برنيع وعبر الى حصرون وصعد الى ادّار ودار الى القرقع

⁴and it passed along to Azmon, went out at the brook of Egypt; and the border ended at the sea. This shall be your south border.

⁴وعبر الى عصمون وخرج الى وادي مصر وكانت مخارج التخم عند البحر. هذا يكون تخمكم الجنوبي.

⁵The east border was the Salt Sea, even to the end of the Jordan. The border of the north quarter was from the bay of the sea at the end of the Jordan.

⁵وتخم الشرق بحر الملح الى طرف الاردن. وتخم جانب الشمال من لسان البحر اقصى الاردن.

⁶The border went up to Beth Hoglah, and passed along by the north of Beth Arabah; and the border went up to the stone of Bohan the son of Reuben.

⁶وصعد التخم الى بيت حجلة وعبر من شمال بيت العربة وصعد التخم الى حجر بوهن بن رأوبين

⁷The border went up to Debir from the valley of Achor, and so northward, looking toward Gilgal, that is over against the ascent of Adummim, which is on the south side of the river. The border passed along to the waters of En Shemesh, and ended at En Rogel.

⁷وصعد التخم الى دبير من وادي عخور وتوجه نحو الشمال الى الجلجال التي مقابل عقبة ادميم التي من جنوبي الوادي. وعبر التخم الى مياه عين شمس وكانت مخارجه الى عين روجل.

⁸The border went up by the valley of the son of Hinnom to the side of the Jebusite southward (the same is Jerusalem); and the border went up to the top of the mountain that lies before the valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the farthest part of the valley of Rephaim northward.

⁸وصعد التخم في وادي ابن هنوم الى جانب اليبوسي من الجنوب. هي اورشليم. وصعد التخم الى راس الجبل الذي قبالة وادي هنوم غربا الذي هو في طرف وادي الرفائيين شمالا.

⁹The border extended from the top of the mountain to the spring of the waters of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of Mount Ephron; and the border extended to Baalah (the same is Kiriath Jearim);

⁹وامتد التخم من راس الجبل الى منبع مياه نفتوح وخرج الى مدن جبل عفرون وامتد التخم الى بعلة. هي قرية يعاريم.

¹⁰and the border turned about from Baalah westward to Mount Seir, and passed along to the side of Mount Jearim on the north (the same is Chesalon), and went down to Beth Shemesh, and passed along by Timnah;

¹⁰وامتد التخم من بعلة غربا الى جبل سعير وعبر الى جانب جبل يعاريم من الشمال. هي كسالون ونزل الى بيت شمس وعبر الى تمنة.

¹¹and the border went out to the side of Ekron northward; and the border extended to Shikkeron, and passed along to Mount Baalah, and went out at Jabneel; and the goings out of the border were at the sea.

¹¹وخرج التخم الى جانب عقرون نحو الشمال وامتد التخم الى شكرون وعبر جبل البعلة وخرج الى يبنئيل وكان مخارج التخم عند البحر.

¹²The west border was to the shore of the great sea. This is the border of the children of Judah according to their families.

¹²والتخم الغربي البحر الكبير وتخومه. هذا تخم بني يهوذا مستديرا حسب عشائرهم

¹³To Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a portion among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of Yahweh to Joshua, even Kiriath Arba, named after the father of Anak (the same is Hebron).

¹³واعطى كالب بن يفنّة قسما في وسط بني يهوذا حسب قول الرب ليشوع قرية اربع ابي عناق. هي حبرون.

¹⁴Caleb drove out the three sons of Anak: Sheshai, and Ahiman, and Talmai, the children of Anak.

¹⁴وطرد كالب من هناك بني عناق الثلاثة شيشاي واخيمان وتلماي اولاد عناق.

¹⁵He went up against the inhabitants of Debir: now the name of Debir before was Kiriath Sepher.

¹⁵وصعد من هناك الى سكان دبير وكان اسم دبير قبلا قرية سفر.

¹⁶Caleb said, “He who strikes Kiriath Sepher, and takes it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter as wife.”

¹⁶وقال كالب. من يضرب قرية سفر ويأخذها اعطيه عكسة ابنتي امرأة.

¹⁷Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it: and he gave him Achsah his daughter as wife.

¹⁷فاخذها عثنيئيل بن قناز اخو كالب. فاعطاه عكسة ابنته امرأة.

¹⁸It happened, when she came, that she had him ask her father fore a field. She got off of her donkey, and Caleb said, “What do you want?”

¹⁸وكان عند دخولها انها غرته بطلب حقل من ابيها. فنزلت عن الحمار فقال لها كالب ما لك.

¹⁹She said, “Give me a blessing. Because you have set me in the land of the South, give me also springs of water.” He gave her the upper springs and the lower springs.

¹⁹فقالت اعطني بركة. لانك اعطيتني ارض الجنوب فاعطني ينابيع ماء فاعطاها الينابيع العليا والينابيع السفلى

²²وقينة وديمونة وعدعدة

²³Kedesh, Hazor, Ithnan,

²³وقادش وحاصور ويثنان

²⁴Ziph, Telem, Bealoth,

²⁴وزيف وطالم وبعلوت

²⁵Hazor Hadattah, Kerioth Hezron (the same is Hazor),

²⁵وحاصور وحدتّة وقريوت وحصرون. هي حاصور.

²⁶Amam, Shema, Moladah,

²⁶وامام وشماع ومولادة

²⁷Hazar Gaddah, Heshmon, Beth Pelet,

²⁷وحصر جدة وحشمون وبيت فالط

²⁸Hazar Shual, Beersheba, Biziothiah,

²⁸وحصر شوعال وبئر سبع وبزيوتية

²⁹Baalah, Iim, Ezem,

²⁹وبعلة وعيّيم وعاصم

³⁰Eltolad, Chesil, Hormah,

³⁰وألتولد وكسيل وحرمة

³¹Ziklag, Madmannah, Sansannah,

³¹وصقلغ ومدمنة وسنسنة

³²Lebaoth, Shilhim, Ain, and Rimmon. All the cities are twenty-nine, with their villages.

³²ولباوت وشلحيم وعين ورمّون. كل المدن تسع وعشرون مع ضياعها

³³In the lowland, Eshtaol, Zorah, Ashnah,

³³في السهل اشتأول وصرعة وأشنة

³⁴Zanoah, En Gannim, Tappuah, Enam,

³⁴وزانوح وعين جنيم وتفوح وعينام

³⁵Jarmuth, Adullam, Socoh, Azekah,

³⁵ويرموت وعدلام وسوكوه وعزيقة

³⁶Shaaraim, Adithaim and Gederah (or Gederothaim); fourteen cities with their villages.

³⁶وشعرايم وعديتايم والجديرة وجديروتايم. اربع عشرة مدينة مع ضياعها

³⁷Zenan, Hadashah, Migdal Gad,

³⁷صنان وحداشة ومجدل جاد

³⁸Dilean, Mizpeh, Joktheel,

³⁸ودلعان والمصفاة ويقتيئيل

³⁹Lachish, Bozkath, Eglon,

³⁹ولخيش وبصقة وعجلون

⁴⁰Cabbon, Lahmam, Chitlish,

⁴⁰وكبون ولحمام وكتليش

⁴¹Gederoth, Beth Dagon, Naamah, and Makkedah; sixteen cities with their villages.

⁴¹وجديروت بيت داجون ونعمة ومقيدة. ست عشرة مدينة مع ضياعها.

⁴²Libnah, Ether, Ashan,

⁴²لبنة وعاتر وعاشان

⁴³Iphtah, Ashnah, Nezib,

⁴³ويفتاح واشنة ونصيب

⁴⁴Keilah, Achzib, and Mareshah; nine cities with their villages.

⁴⁴وقعيلة واكزيب ومريشة. تسع مدن مع ضياعها

⁴⁵Ekron, with its towns and its villages;

⁴⁵عقرون وقراها وضياعها.

⁴⁶from Ekron even to the sea, all that were by the side of Ashdod, with their villages.

⁴⁶من عقرون غربا كل ما بقرب اشدود وضياعها.

⁴⁷Ashdod, its towns and its villages; Gaza, its towns and its villages; to the brook of Egypt, and the great sea with its coastline.

⁴⁷اشدود وقراها وضياعها وغزة وقراها وضياعها الى وادي مصر والبحر الكبير وتخومه

⁴⁸In the hill country, Shamir, Jattir, Socoh,

⁴⁸وفي الجبل شامير ويتّير وسوكوه

⁴⁹Dannah, Kiriath Sannah (which is Debir),

⁴⁹ودنّة وقرية سنّة. هي دبير.

⁵⁰Anab, Eshtemoh, Anim,

⁵⁰وعناب واشتموه وعانيم

⁵¹Goshen, Holon, and Giloh; eleven cities with their villages.

⁵¹وجوشن وحولون وجيلوه. احدى عشرة مدينة مع ضياعها.

⁵²Arab, Dumah, Eshan,

⁵²أراب ودومة واشعان

⁵³Janim, Beth Tappuah, Aphekah,

⁵³وينوم وبيت تفوح وافيقة

⁵⁴Humtah, Kiriath Arba (the same is Hebron), and Zior; nine cities with their villages.

⁵⁴وحمطة وقرية اربع. هي حبرون وصيعور. تسع مدن مع ضياعها.

⁵⁹ومعارة وبيت عنوت والتقون. ست مدن مع ضياعها

⁶⁰Kiriath Baal (the same is Kiriath Jearim), and Rabbah; two cities with their villages.

⁶⁰قرية بعل. هي قرية يعاريم. والربّة. مدينتان مع ضياعهما

⁶¹In the wilderness, Beth Arabah, Middin, Secacah,

⁶¹في البرية بيت العربة ومدّين وسكاكة

⁶²Nibshan, the City of Salt, and En Gedi; six cities with their villages.

⁶²والنبشان ومدينة الملح وعين جدي. ست مدن مع ضياعها.

⁶³As for the Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah couldn’t drive them out; but the Jebusites live with the children of Judah at Jerusalem to this day.

⁶³واما اليبوسيون الساكنون في اورشليم فلم يقدر بنو يهوذا على طردهم فسكن اليبوسيون مع بني يهوذا في اورشليم الى هذا اليوم
