1The elder, to the chosen lady and her children, whom I love in truth; and not I only, but also all those who know the truth;
1मइँ बुजुर्ग कइँती स उ चुनी भइ स्त्री जउने क परमेस्सर चुने अहइ, अउर ओकरे बचवन क पिरेम करित हउँ जउन सच्चाई क भागीदार अहइँ, मइँ तुहिन अकेले स पिरेम नाहीं करित, मुला ओन सबे तोह सबन स पिरेम करित हीं जउन सच्चाई क जान लिहे अहइँ।
2for the truth’s sake, which remains in us, and it will be with us forever:
2इ उही सच्चाई क कारण भवा बाटइ जउन हमरे मँ बना रहत ह अउर जउन हमेसा हमरे साथे रही।
3Grace, mercy, and peace will be with us, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.
3परमपिता परमेस्सर कइँती स ओकर अनुग्रह दाया अउर सान्ति हमेसा हमरे साथे रही अउर परमेस्सर क पूत ईसू मसीह कइँती स सच्चाई अउर पिरेम मँ हमार जगह बनी रही।
4I rejoice greatly that I have found some of your children walking in truth, even as we have been commanded by the Father.
4तोहारे बचवन क उ सच्चाई क हिसाब स जीवन जिअत देखिके मोका बहुत आनन्द भवा। काहेकि उ हुकुम परमपिता स हमका मिला ह अउर उ सबइ, सच प चलत ही।
5Now I beg you, dear lady, not as though I wrote to you a new commandment, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another.
5अउर ऐ पिआरी स्त्री, मइँ तोहका कउनउ नया आदेस नाहीं देत अहउँ, प उहइ जउन प्रारम्भ स हमे मिला अहइ। हमका एक दूसरे क साथे पिरेम करइ चाही।
6This is love, that we should walk according to his commandments. This is the commandment, even as you heard from the beginning, that you should walk in it.
6पिरेम क मतलब इहइ आटइ कि हम ओकरे आदेसन क पालन करी। इ उहइ आदेस आटइ जउने क तू सुरू स सुन्या ह कि तोहका सबन क पिरेम क साथ जियइ चाही।
7For many deceivers have gone out into the world, those who don’t confess that Jesus Christ came in the flesh. This is the deceiver and the Antichrist.
7दुनिया मँ बहोत झूठे उपदेसकन तमाम फइला पड़ा अहइँ। वे धोखा देइवालन इ नाहीं मानतेन कि इ धरती प मनई क रूप मँ ईसू मसीह आवा अहइ, उ ठग आटइ अउर मसीह क विरोधी आटइ।
8Watch yourselves, that we don’t lose the things which we have accomplished, but that we receive a full reward.
8अपने प्रति सावधान रहा, अइसा न होइ कि जउन कछू कमाए अहा, ओका गँवाइ द्या, वरन एकर प्रतिफल तू पचे प्राप्त करा।
9Whoever transgresses and doesn’t remain in the teaching of Christ, doesn’t have God. He who remains in the teaching, the same has both the Father and the Son.

10If anyone comes to you, and doesn’t bring this teaching, don’t receive him into your house, and don’t welcome him,
10जदि कउनउ मनई तोहरे घरे मँ आवत ह, अउर इ उपदेस नाहीं मानत, तउ ओका अपने घरवा मँ न आवइ द्या, अउर न नमस्कार करा।
11for he who welcomes him participates in his evil works.
11काहेकि जे अइसे मनई क स्वीकार करत ह, उ ओकरे बुरे कामन मँ हिस्सेदार होइ जात ह।
12Having many things to write to you, I don’t want to do so with paper and ink, but I hope to come to you, and to speak face to face, that our joy may be made full.
12तोहका लिखइ क वास्ते मोरे लगे बहुत सी बातन अहइँ मुला ओन सबन क कलम दवात स मइँ लिखइ नाहीं चहित मुला मोका इ आसा अहइ कि तोहरे सामने आइके आमने सामने बइठिके तोहसे बात करउँ। जेहसे कि हमार आनन्द पूरा होइ जाइ।
13The children of your chosen sister greet you. Amen.
