¹Saul was consenting to his death. A great persecution arose against the assembly which was in Jerusalem in that day. They were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judea and Samaria, except for the apostles.

¹साऊल स्तिफनुस क कतल ठीक बताएस। उहइ दिना स यरुसलेम क कलीसिया प घोर अत्याचार होब सुरू भवा प्रेरितन क तजिके उ पते सबहिं मनइयन यहूदिया अउर सामरिया क गाउँ मँ तितराइ-बितराइके फैलि गएऩ।

²Devout men buried Stephen, and lamented greatly over him.

³But Saul ravaged the assembly, entering into every house, and dragged both men and women off to prison.

⁴Therefore those who were scattered abroad went around preaching the word.

⁴ओहर तितराए बितराए मनई हर ठउरे प जाइके नीक खबर क सुसामाचार देइ लागेन।

⁵Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and proclaimed to them the Christ.

⁵फिलिप्पुस सामरिया नगर क चला गवा अउर हुवाँ मनइयन मँ मसीह क बारे मँ प्रचार करइ लाग।

⁶The multitudes listened with one accord to the things that were spoken by Philip, when they heard and saw the signs which he did.

⁶फिलिप्पुस क मनइयन जब सुनेन अउर जउऩ अद्भुत चीन्हन क उ परगट करत रहा, लखेस, तउ जउऩ बातन क उ बतावा करत रहा, ओन पइ उ पचे एक चित्त लाइके धियान दिहेन।

⁷For unclean spirits came out of many of those who had them. They came out, crying with a loud voice. Many who had been paralyzed and lame were healed.

⁷बहोत स मनइयन मँ स, जेनमाँ दुस्ट आतिमा समाई रहिन, उ सबई ऊँच अवाजे मँ चिल्लात भइ बाहेर निकरि आइन। बहोत स सुखाड़ी क बेरिमिया अउर अंग भंग नीक होत रहेन।

⁸There was great joy in that city.

⁸उ सहर मँ खुसी छाइ रही।

⁹But there was a certain man, Simon by name, who used to practice sorcery in the city, and amazed the people of Samaria, making himself out to be some great one,

⁹हुवँइ समौन नाउँ क मनई रहत रहा। फिलिप्पुस क अवाई स पहिले उ ढेर समइ स उ सहर मँ जादू टोटका करत रहा। अउर सामरिया क मनइयन क अचरज मँ डाइ देत रहा। उ महा पुरूख होइ क दावा करत रहा।

¹⁰to whom they all listened, from the least to the greatest, saying, “This man is that great power of God.”

¹⁰नान्ह स लइके बड़वारे तलक सबहिं मनइयन ओकरे बात प धियान देतेन अउर कहत रहतेन, “इ मिला परमेस्सर क उहइ सक्ती बा जउन ‘महान सक्ती’ कहवावत ह!”

¹¹They listened to him, because for a long time he had amazed them with his sorceries.

¹¹काहेकि उ ढेर दिनन स ओन पचन्क आपन चमत्कारन क घनचक्कर मँ नाइ देत रहा, यह बरे उ पचे ओह पइ धियान देत रहेन।

¹²But when they believed Philip preaching good news concerning the Kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

¹²मुला उ पचे जब फिलिप्पुस प पतिमानेन काहेकि उ ओनका परमेस्सर क राज्य क सुसामाचार अउर ईसू मसीह क नाउँ बाँचत रहा, तउ उ पचे स्त्रियन अउर पुरूसन दुइनउँ ही बपतिस्मा लेइ लागेन।

¹³Simon himself also believed. Being baptized, he continued with Philip. Seeing signs and great miracles occurring, he was amazed.

¹³अउर खुद समौन ही ओन पइ पतियाइ लाग। अउर बपतिस्मा लेइ क पाछे फिलिप्पुस क संग उ बड़े निचके स बसइ लाग। उ अद्भुत कारजन अउर अद्भुत चीन्हन क जब उ लखेस, तब दंग रहि गवा।

¹⁴Now when the apostles who were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent Peter and John to them,

¹⁴जब यरूसलेम मँ प्रेरितन इ सुनेन कि सामरिया क मनइयन परमेस्सर क बचन क मान लिहे अहइँ तउ उ पचे पतरस अउर यूहन्ना क ओनके लगे पठएन।

¹⁵who, when they had come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Spirit;

¹⁵जबहिं उ पचे आएऩ, तब उ दुइनउँ सामरियन बरे पराथना किहेन कि ओनका पवित्तर आतिमा मिलि जाइ।

¹⁶for as yet he had fallen on none of them. They had only been baptized in the name of Christ Jesus.

¹⁶काहेकि अबहुँ तलक पवित्तर आतिमा कउनो प नाहीं ओतरी, ओनका फिन पर्भू ईसू क नाउँ प बपतिस्मा हि दीन्ह गवा रहा।

¹⁷Then they laid their hands on them, and they received the Holy Spirit.

¹⁷तउ पतरस अउर यूहन्ना ओन पइ आपन हाथ धरेस अउर ओनका पवित्तर आतिमा मिलि गइ।

¹⁸Now when Simon saw that the Holy Spirit was given through the laying on of the apostles’ hands, he offered them money,

¹⁸जब समौन लखेस कि प्रेरितन क हाथ धरे भइ स पवित्तर आतिमा मिलि गइ तउ ओनके समन्वा धन धरत भवा कहेस,

¹⁹saying, “Give me also this power, that whomever I lay my hands on may receive the Holy Spirit.”

¹⁹“सक्ती मोका दइ द्या काहेकि जेह पइ मइँ हाथ धरउँ, ओका पवित्तर आतिमा मिलि जाइ।”

²⁰But Peter said to him, “May your silver perish with you, because you thought you could obtain the gift of God with money!

²⁰पतरस ओसे कहेस, “तोहार अउर तोहरे धने क सतियानास होइ! काहेकि तू इ बिचार्या ह कि तू धने स परमेस्सर क बरदान क मोल लइ सकत ह।

²¹You have neither part nor lot in this matter, for your heart isn’t right before God.

²¹इ बारे मँ तोहार हमार मेल नाहीं खात काहेकि परमेस्सर क समन्वा तोहार हिरदय सही नाहीं बा।

²²Repent therefore of this, your wickedness, and ask God if perhaps the thought of your heart may be forgiven you.

²²यह बरे आपन इ दुस्टता बरे मनफिराव अउर आपन कुकरम प पछतावा करा अउर पर्भू स पराथना करा। इ होइ सकत ह कि इ बिचार बरे तोहका छमा कइ दीन्ह जाइ जउन तोहरे मने मँ रहा।

²³For I see that you are in the gall of bitterness and in the bondage of iniquity.”

²³मइँ लखत हउँ कि तू परिहँसे स भरा अहा पाप क पंजा मँ फँसा बाट्या।”

²⁴Simon answered, “Pray for me to the Lord, that none of the things which you have spoken happen to me.”

²⁴यह पइ समौन जवाब दिहेस, “तू पर्भू स मोरे बरे पराथना करा काहेकि तू जउन कहया ह, ओहमाँ स कउनो भी बात मोह प न आइ जाइ!”

²⁵They therefore, when they had testified and spoken the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem, and preached the Good News to many villages of the Samaritans.

²⁵फिन प्रेरितन साच्छी दइके अउर पर्भू क बचन सुनाइके , राहे मँ टेर क सामरी गाँवन मँ सुसामाचार क उपदेस देत भएन यरूसलेम लौटि गएऩ।

²⁶But an angel of the Lord spoke to Philip, saying, “Arise, and go toward the south to the way that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza. This is a desert.”

²⁶पर्भू क एक सरगदूत फिलिप्पुस क कहत भवा बताएस, “तइयार होइ जा, अउर सरक प दक्खिन कइँती जा, जउन सरक यरूसलेम स गाजा क जात ह। इ एक निर्जन राह अहइ।”

²⁷He arose and went; and behold, there was a man of Ethiopia, a eunuch of great authority under Candace, queen of the Ethiopians, who was over all her treasure, who had come to Jerusalem to worship.

²⁷तउ उ तइयार भवा अउर निकरि गवा। सरक पइ इथियोपिया क मनई क लखेस। उ हिजरा रहा। इथियोपियन क रानी कंदाके क एक अधिकारी रहा जउन ओकरे सारा खजाना क खजांची रहा। उ आराधना करइ यरूसलेम गवा रहा।

²⁸He was returning and sitting in his chariot, and was reading the prophet Isaiah.

²⁸लउटत भवा उ आपन रथे मँ बैठिके नबी यसायाह क पोथी बाँचत रहा।

²⁹The Spirit said to Philip, “Go near, and join yourself to this chariot.”

²⁹तबहिं उ आतिमा फिलिप्पुस स कहेस, “उ रथे क निचके जा अउर हुवँइ ठहर जा।”

³⁰Philip ran to him, and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet, and said, “Do you understand what you are reading?”

³⁰फिलिप्पुस जब उ रथे क निचके दौड़िके गवा तउ उ ओका यसायाह क पढ़त भवा लखेस। तउ उ कहेस, “का तू जेका बाँचत अहा, ओका बूझत भी बाट्या?”

³¹He said, “How can I, unless someone explains it to me?” He begged Philip to come up and sit with him.

³¹उ कहेस, “मइँ भला कहाँ तलक समुझ बूझ सकत हउँ? जब तलक कउनो मोका एकर अरथ न बतावइ?” फिन उ फिलिप्पुस क ऱथे प आपन संग बइठाएस।

³²Now the passage of the Scripture which he was reading was this, “He was led as a sheep to the slaughter. As a lamb before his shearer is silent, so he doesn’t open his mouth.

³²पवित्तर सास्तर क जउन हींसा क उ बाँचत रहा, उ रहा: “उ भेंड़ क नाई जप कइ दीन्ह बरे लइ जावा जात रहा उ ओ मेम्ना क नाई चुप रहा जउन आपन उन क कतरइवाला क समन्वा चुप रहत ह। ठीक वइसे ही उ आपन मुँह खोलेस नाहीं।

³³In his humiliation, his judgment was taken away. Who will declare His generation? For his life is taken from the earth.” Isaiah 53:7,8

³³अब अइसी दीन दसा मँ ओका निआव स दुरिआवा गवा। ओकरी पीढ़ी क कबहँ गाथा कउन गाई? काहेकि धरती स तउओकर जिन्नगी लइ लीन्ह गइ।” यसायाह 53:7-8

³⁴The eunuch answered Philip, “Who is the prophet talking about? About himself, or about someone else?”

³⁴उ अधिकारी फिलिप्पुस स कहेस, “अहुग्रह कइके बतावा कि इ नबी केकर बारे मँ कहत बाटइ? इ आपन बारे मँ या कउनो अउर क बारे मँ?”

³⁵Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture, preached to him Jesus.

³⁵फिन फिलिप्पुस कहब सुरू किहेस अउर इ सास्तर स लइके ईसू क सुसामाचार तलक सब कछू ओका कहिके सुनाएस।

³⁶As they went on the way, they came to some water, and the eunuch said, “Behold, here is water. What is keeping me from being baptized?”

³⁶रस्ता मँ आगे बढ़त भए उ सबइ पानी क निचके पहुँचेन। फिन उ अधिकारी कहेस, “लखा! हिआँ पानी बाटइ। अब मोका बपतिस्मा लेइ मँ का बियाधा अहइ?”

³⁷ TR adds “Philip said, ‘If you believe with all your heart, you may.’ He answered, ‘I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.’”

³⁸He commanded the chariot to stand still, and they both went down into the water, both Philip and the eunuch, and he baptized him.

³⁸तब उ रथे क रोकइ बरे आग्या दिहेस। फिन फिलिप्पुस अउर उ अधिकारी दुइनउँ ही पानी मँ उतरि गएन अउर फिलिप्पुस ओका बपतिस्मा दिहेस।

³⁹When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught Philip away, and the eunuch didn’t see him any more, for he went on his way rejoicing.

³⁹अउर फिन जब उ पचे पानी स बाहेर निकसेन तउ फिलिप्पुस क पर्भू क आतिमा छीन लइ गवा। अउर उ अधिकारी फिन ओका कबहुँ नाहीं लखेस। ओहर उ अधिकारी खुसी मनावत आपन राहे प चला गवा।

⁴⁰But Philip was found at Azotus. Passing through, he preached the Good News to all the cities, until he came to Caesarea.

⁴⁰ओह कइँती फिलिप्पुस खुद क असदोद मँ पाएस अउर कैसरिया पहोंच तलक उ सब नगरन मँ सुसमाचार प्रचार करत रहा।
