⁴but in everything commending ourselves, as servants of God, in great endurance, in afflictions, in hardships, in distresses,

⁵in beatings, in imprisonments, in riots, in labors, in watchings, in fastings;

⁵pod udarcima, u tamnicama, u bunama, u naporima, u bdjenjima, u postovima,

⁶in pureness, in knowledge, in patience, in kindness, in the Holy Spirit, in sincere love,

⁶u čistoći, u spoznanju, u velikodušnosti, u dobroti, u Duhu Svetomu, u ljubavi nehinjenoj,

⁷in the word of truth, in the power of God; by the armor of righteousness on the right hand and on the left,

⁷u riječi istinitoj, u snazi Božjoj; oružjem pravde zdesna i slijeva;

⁸by glory and dishonor, by evil report and good report; as deceivers, and yet true;

⁸slavom i sramotom; zlim i dobrim glasom; kao zavodnici, a istiniti;

⁹as unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and behold, we live; as punished, and not killed;

⁹kao nepoznati, a poznati; kao umirući, a evo živimo; kao kažnjeni, a ne ubijeni;

¹⁰as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

¹⁰kao žalosni, a uvijek radosni; kao siromašni, a mnoge obogaćujemo; kao oni koji ništa nemaju, a sve posjeduju.

¹⁴Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?

¹⁴Ne ujarmljujte se s nevjernicima. Ta što ima pravednost s bezakonjem? Ili kakvo zajedništvo svjetlo s tamom?

¹⁵What agreement has Christ with Belial? Or what portion has a believer with an unbeliever?

¹⁵Kakvu slogu Krist s Belijarom? Ili kakav dio vjernik s nevjernikom?

¹⁶What agreement has a temple of God with idols? For you are a temple of the living God. Even as God said, “I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they will be my people.” Leviticus 26:12; Jeremiah 32:38; Ezekiel 37:27

¹⁶Kakav sporazum hram Božji s idolima? Jer mi smo hram Boga živoga, kao što reče Bog: Prebivat ću u njima i hoditi među njima; i bit ću Bog njihov, a oni narod moj.
