²Spomeni se, o Jahve, Davida i sve revnosti njegove: kako se Jahvi zakleo, zavjetovao Snazi Jakovljevoj:

³“Surely I will not come into the structure of my house, nor go up into my bed;

³"Neću ući u šator doma svog nit' uzaći na ležaj svoje postelje,

⁴I will not give sleep to my eyes, or slumber to my eyelids;

⁴neću pustit' snu na oči nit' počinka dati vjeđama,

⁵until I find out a place for Yahweh, a dwelling for the Mighty One of Jacob.”

⁵dok Jahvi mjesto ne nađem, boravište Snazi Jakovljevoj."

⁶Behold, we heard of it in Ephrathah. We found it in the field of Jaar:

⁶Eto, čusmo za nj u Efrati, nađosmo ga u Poljima jaarskim.

⁹Svećenici tvoji nek' se obuku u pravednost, pobožnici tvoji nek' radosno kliču!

¹⁰For your servant David’s sake, don’t turn away the face of your anointed one.

¹⁰Poradi Davida, sluge svojega, ne odvrati lica od svog pomazanika!"

¹¹Yahweh has sworn to David in truth. He will not turn from it: “I will set the fruit of your body on your throne.

¹¹Jahve se zakle Davidu zakletvom tvrdom od koje neće odustati: "Potomka tvoje utrobe posadit ću na prijestolje tvoje.

¹²If your children will keep my covenant, my testimony that I will teach them, their children also will sit on your throne forevermore.”

¹²Budu li ti sinovi Savez moj čuvali i naredbe kojima ih učim, i sinovi će njini dovijeka sjedit' na tvom prijestolju."

¹³For Yahweh has chosen Zion. He has desired it for his habitation.

¹³Jer Jahve odabra Sion, njega zaželje sebi za sjedište.

¹⁴“This is my resting place forever. Here I will live, for I have desired it.

¹⁴"Ovo mi je počivalište vječno, boravit ću ovdje jer tako poželjeh.

¹⁵I will abundantly bless her provision. I will satisfy her poor with bread.

¹⁵Žitak ću njegov blagosloviti, siromahe nahraniti kruhom.

¹⁶Her priests I will also clothe with salvation. Her saints will shout aloud for joy.

¹⁶Svećenike njegove u spas ću odjenuti, sveti će njegovi kliktati radosno.

¹⁷There I will make the horn of David to bud. I have ordained a lamp for my anointed.

¹⁷Učinit ću da ondje za Davida rog izraste, pripravit ću svjetiljku za svog pomazanika.

¹⁸I will clothe his enemies with shame, but on himself, his crown will be resplendent.”

¹⁸U sram ću mu obući dušmane, a na njemu će blistat' vijenac moj."
