1Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and our brother Sosthenes,
1 Paul, apostol Crist Iesu trwy alwad a thrwy ewyllys Duw, a'r brawd Sosthenes,
2to the assembly of God which is at Corinth; those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place, both theirs and ours:
2 at eglwys Dduw sydd yng Nghorinth, at y rhai a sancteiddiwyd yng Nghrist Iesu, ac sydd trwy alwad Duw yn saint, ynghyd phawb ym mhob man sydd yn galw ar enw ein Harglwydd Iesu Grist, eu Harglwydd hwy a ninnau.
3Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 Gras a thangnefedd i chwi oddi wrth Dduw ein Tad a'r Arglwydd Iesu Grist.
4I always thank my God concerning you, for the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus;
4 Yr wyf yn diolch i'm Duw bob amser amdanoch chwi, ar gyfrif y gras dwyfol a roddwyd ichwi yng Nghrist Iesu,
5that in everything you were enriched in him, in all speech and all knowledge;
5 am eich cyfoethogi ynddo ef ym mhob peth, ym mhob ymadrodd a phob gwybodaeth,
6even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:
6 fel bod y dystiolaeth am Grist wedi ei chadarnhau yn eich plith.
7so that you come behind in no gift; waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ;
7 Oherwydd hyn, nid ydych yn ddiffygiol mewn unrhyw ddawn, wrth ichwi ddisgwyl am ddatguddiad ein Harglwydd Iesu Grist.
8who will also confirm you until the end, blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
8 Bydd ef yn eich cadw'n gadarn hyd y diwedd, fel na bydd cyhuddiad yn eich erbyn yn Nydd ein Harglwydd Iesu Grist.
9God is faithful, through whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord.
9 Y mae Duw'n ffyddlon, a thrwyddo ef y'ch galwyd chwi i gymdeithas ei Fab ef, Iesu Grist ein Harglwydd ni.
10Now I beg you, brothers, The word for “brothers” here and where context allows may also be correctly translated “brothers and sisters” or “siblings.” through the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfected together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
10 Yr wyf yn deisyf arnoch, gyfeillion, yn enw ein Harglwydd Iesu Grist, ar i chwi oll fod yn gytn; na foed ymraniadau yn eich plith, ond byddwch wedi eich cyfannu yn yr un meddwl a'r un farn.
11For it has been reported to me concerning you, my brothers, by those who are from Chloe’s household, that there are contentions among you.
11 Oherwydd hysbyswyd fi amdanoch, fy nghyfeillion, gan rai o du375? Chle, fod cynhennau yn eich plith.
12Now I mean this, that each one of you says, “I follow Paul,” “I follow Apollos,” “I follow Cephas,” and, “I follow Christ.”
12 Yr hyn a olygaf yw fod pob un ohonoch yn dweud, "Yr wyf fi'n perthyn i blaid Paul", neu, "Minnau, i blaid Apolos", neu, "Minnau, i blaid Ceffas", neu, "Minnau, i blaid Crist".
13Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized into the name of Paul?
13 A aeth Crist yn gyfran plaid? Ai Paul a groeshoeliwyd drosoch chwi? Neu, a fedyddiwyd chwi i enw Paul?
14I thank God that I baptized none of you, except Crispus and Gaius,
14 Yr wyf yn diolch i Dduw na fedyddiais i neb ohonoch ond Crispus a Gaius;
15so that no one should say that I had baptized you into my own name.
15 peidied neb dweud i chwi gael eich bedyddio i'm henw i.
16(I also baptized the household of Stephanas; besides them, I don’t know whether I baptized any other.)
16 O do, mi fedyddiais deulu Steffanas hefyd. Heblaw hynny, ni wn a fedyddiais i neb arall.
17For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the Good News—not in wisdom of words, so that the cross of Christ wouldn’t be made void.
17 Nid i fedyddio yr anfonodd Crist fi, ond i bregethu'r Efengyl, a hynny nid doethineb geiriau, rhag i groes Crist golli ei grym.
18For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are dying, but to us who are saved it is the power of God.
18 Oblegid y gair am y groes, ffolineb yw i'r rhai sydd ar lwybr colledigaeth, ond i ni sydd ar lwybr iachawdwriaeth, gallu Duw ydyw.
19For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, I will bring the discernment of the discerning to nothing.” Isaiah 29:14
19 Y mae'n ysgrifenedig: "Dinistriaf ddoethineb y doethion, A dileaf ddeall y deallus."
20Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the lawyer of this world? Hasn’t God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
20 Pa le y mae'r un doeth? Pa le y mae'r un dysgedig? Pa le y mae ymresymydd yr oes bresennol? Oni wnaeth Duw ddoethineb y byd yn ffolineb?
21For seeing that in the wisdom of God, the world through its wisdom didn’t know God, it was God’s good pleasure through the foolishness of the preaching to save those who believe.
21 Oherwydd gan fod y byd, yn noethineb Duw, wedi methu adnabod Duw trwy ei ddoethineb ei hun, gwelodd Duw yn dda trwy ffolineb yr hyn yr ydym ni yn ei bregethu achub y rhai sydd yn credu.
22For Jews ask for signs, Greeks seek after wisdom,
22 Y mae'r Iddewon yn gofyn am arwyddion, a'r Groegiaid hwythau yn chwilio am ddoethineb.
23but we preach Christ crucified; a stumbling block to Jews, and foolishness to Greeks,
23 Eithr nyni, pregethu yr ydym Grist wedi ei groeshoelio, yn dramgwydd i'r Iddewon ac yn ffolineb i'r Cenhedloedd;
24but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.
24 ond i'r rhai a alwyd, yn Iddewon a Groegiaid, y mae'n Grist, gallu Duw a doethineb Duw.
25Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
25 Oherwydd y mae ffolineb Duw yn ddoethach na doethineb ddynol, a gwendid Duw yn gryfach na chryfder dynol.
26For you see your calling, brothers, that not many are wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, and not many noble;
26 Ystyriwch sut rai ydych chwi a alwyd, gyfeillion: nid oes rhyw lawer ohonoch yn ddoeth yn l safon y byd, nid oes rhyw lawer yn meddu awdurdod, nid oes rhyw lawer o dras uchel.
27but God chose the foolish things of the world that he might put to shame those who are wise. God chose the weak things of the world, that he might put to shame the things that are strong;
27 Ond pethau ffl y byd a ddewisodd Duw er mwyn cywilyddio'r doeth, a phethau gwan y byd a ddewisodd Duw i gywilyddio'r pethau cedyrn,
28and God chose the lowly things of the world, and the things that are despised, and the things that are not, that he might bring to nothing the things that are:
28 a phethau distadl y byd, a phethau dirmygedig, a ddewisodd Duw, y pethau nid ydynt, i ddiddymu'r pethau sydd.
29that no flesh should boast before God.
29 Ac felly, ni all neb ymffrostio gerbron Duw.
30But of him, you are in Christ Jesus, who was made to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption:
30 Ond trwy ei weithred ef yr ydych chwi yng Nghrist Iesu, yr hwn a wnaed yn ddoethineb i ni oddi wrth Dduw, yn gyfiawnder a sancteiddhad a phrynedigaeth.
31that, according as it is written, “He who boasts, let him boast in the Lord.” Jeremiah 9:24
31 Felly, fel y mae'n ysgrifenedig, "Y sawl sy'n ymffrostio, ymffrostied yn yr Arglwydd."
