2 Kings

1

1Moab rebelled against Israel after the death of Ahab.
1 Wedi marw Ahab gwrthryfelodd Moab yn erbyn Israel.
2Ahaziah fell down through the lattice in his upper room that was in Samaria, and was sick. So he sent messengers, and said to them, “Go, inquire of Baal Zebub, the god of Ekron, whether I will recover of this sickness.”
2 Syrthiodd Ahaseia o ffenestr ei lofft yn Samaria a chael ei anafu. Yna anfonodd negeswyr a dweud wrthynt, "Ewch i ymofyn Baal-sebub duw Ecron, a fyddaf yn gwella o'm hanaf."
3But the angel of Yahweh said to Elijah the Tishbite, “Arise, go up to meet the messengers of the king of Samaria, and tell them, ‘Is it because there is no God in Israel, that you go to inquire of Baal Zebub, the god of Ekron?
3 A dywedodd angel yr ARGLWYDD wrth Elias y Thesbiad, "Dos i gyfarfod negeswyr brenin Samaria, a dywed wrthynt, 'Ai am nad oes Duw yn Israel yr wyt yn anfon i ymofyn Baal-sebub duw Ecron?
4Now therefore thus says Yahweh, “You shall not come down from the bed where you have gone up, but shall surely die.”’” Elijah departed.
4 Am hynny, fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD: Ni ddoi o'r gwely yr aethost iddo, ond byddi farw.'" Ac aeth Elias.
5The messengers returned to him, and he said to them, “Why is it that you have returned?”
5 Dychwelodd y negeswyr, a gofynnodd Ahaseia iddynt, "Pam yr ydych wedi dychwelyd?"
6They said to him, “A man came up to meet us, and said to us, ‘Go, return to the king who sent you, and tell him, “Thus says Yahweh, ‘Is it because there is no God in Israel, that you send to inquire of Baal Zebub, the god of Ekron? Therefore you shall not come down from the bed where you have gone up, but shall surely die.’”’”
6 Eu hateb oedd, "Daeth rhyw ddyn i'n cyfarfod a dweud wrthym, 'Ewch yn l at y brenin sydd wedi'ch anfon, a dweud wrtho, "Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD: Ai am nad oes Duw yn Israel yr wyt yn anfon i ymofyn Baal-sebub duw Ecron? Am hynny, ni ddoi o'r gwely yr aethost iddo, ond byddi farw".'"
7He said to them, “What kind of man was he who came up to meet you, and told you these words?”
7 Gofynnodd y brenin, "Sut un oedd y dyn a ddaeth i'ch cyfarfod a dweud hyn wrthych?"
8They answered him, “He was a hairy man, and wearing a leather belt around his waist.” He said, “It is Elijah the Tishbite.”
8 Atebodd y dynion, "Dyn blewog, a gwregys o groen am ei ganol." Ac meddai yntau, "Elias y Thesbiad oedd."
9Then the king sent a captain of fifty with his fifty to him. He went up to him; and behold, he was sitting on the top of the hill. He said to him, “Man of God, the king has said, ‘Come down!’”
9 Yna anfonodd gapten hanner cant gyda'i ddynion at Elias, a daeth o hyd iddo yn eistedd ar ben bryncyn. Dywedodd wrtho, "Ti u373?r Duw, y mae'r brenin yn gorchymyn iti ddod i lawr."
10Elijah answered to the captain of fifty, “If I am a man of God, let fire come down from the sky, and consume you and your fifty!” Fire came down from the sky, and consumed him and his fifty.
10 Atebodd Elias y capten, "Os wyf fi'n u373?r Duw, doed tn o'r nef a'th ddifa di a'th hanner cant." A disgynnodd tn o'r nefoedd a'i ddifa ef a'i hanner cant.
11Again he sent to him another captain of fifty and his fifty. He answered him, “Man of God, the king has said, ‘Come down quickly!’”
11 Anfonodd y brenin gapten hanner cant arall gyda'i ddynion; a daeth yntau a dweud, "Gu373?r Duw, dyma a ddywed y brenin: Tyrd i lawr ar unwaith."
12Elijah answered them, “If I am a man of God, let fire come down from the sky, and consume you and your fifty!” The fire of God came down from the sky, and consumed him and his fifty.
12 Atebodd Elias, "Os wyf fi'n u373?r Duw, doed tn o'r nef a'th ddifa di a'th hanner cant."
13Again he sent the captain of a third fifty with his fifty. The third captain of fifty went up, and came and fell on his knees before Elijah, and begged him, and said to him, “Man of God, please let my life, and the life of these fifty your servants, be precious in your sight.
13 A disgynnodd tn o'r nefoedd a'i ddifa ef a'i hanner cant. Yna anfonwyd trydydd capten hanner cant gyda'i ddynion. Pan ddaeth y trydydd capten i fyny ato, fe syrthiodd ar ei liniau o flaen Elias a chrefu arno, "O u373?r Duw, gad i'm bywyd i, a bywyd yr hanner cant yma o'th weision, fod yn werthfawr yn d'olwg.
14Behold, fire came down from the sky, and consumed the two former captains of fifty with their fifties. But now let my life be precious in your sight.”
14 Y mae tn wedi disgyn o'r nef a difa'r ddau gapten cyntaf a'u dynion, ond yn awr gad i'm bywyd fod yn werthfawr yn d'olwg."
15The angel of Yahweh said to Elijah, “Go down with him. Don’t be afraid of him.” He arose, and went down with him to the king.
15 Dywedodd angel yr ARGLWYDD wrth Elias, "Dos i lawr gydag ef; paid 'i ofni."
16He said to him, “Thus says Yahweh, ‘Because you have sent messengers to inquire of Baal Zebub, the god of Ekron, is it because there is no God in Israel to inquire of his word? Therefore you shall not come down from the bed where you have gone up, but shall surely die.’”
16 Yna aeth i lawr gydag ef at y brenin a dweud wrtho, "Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD: Am iti anfon negeswyr i ymofyn Baal-sebub duw Ecron (ai am nad oes Duw yn Israel i ymofyn am ei air?), ni ddoi o'r gwely yr aethost iddo, ond byddi farw."
17So he died according to the word of Yahweh which Elijah had spoken. Jehoram began to reign in his place in the second year of Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah; because he had no son.
17 A marw a wnaeth, yn unol gair yr ARGLWYDD, a lefarodd Elias. Am nad oedd ganddo fab, daeth Jehoram yn frenin yn ei le, yn ail flwyddyn Jehoram fab Jehosaffat, brenin Jwda.
18Now the rest of the acts of Ahaziah which he did, aren’t they written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
18 Am weddill y pethau a wnaeth Ahaseia, onid ydynt wedi eu hysgrifennu yn llyfr hanesion brenhinoedd Israel?
