2 Kings

6

1The sons of the prophets said to Elisha, “See now, the place where we dwell before you is too small for us.
1 Dywedodd y proffwydi wrth Eliseus, "Edrych yn awr, y mae'r lle yr ydym yn byw ynddo gyda thi yn rhy gyfyng inni.
2Please let us go to the Jordan, and every man take a beam from there, and let us make us a place there, where we may dwell.” He answered, “Go!”
2 Gad inni fynd at yr Iorddonen a chymryd oddi yno drawst bob un i wneud lle y gallwn fyw ynddo." Dywedodd yntau, "Ewch."
3One said, “Please be pleased to go with your servants.” He answered, “I will go.”
3 Ond meddai un, "Bydd dithau fodlon i ddod gyda'th weision." Ac atebodd, "Dof."
4So he went with them. When they came to the Jordan, they cut down wood.
4 Yna aeth gyda hwy at yr Iorddonen i dorri coed.
5But as one was felling a beam, the axe head fell into the water. Then he cried, and said, “Alas, my master! For it was borrowed.”
5 Tra oedd un yn cwympo trawst, syrthiodd ei fwyell i'r du373?r, a dywedodd, "Gwae fi, syr; un fenthyg oedd hi."
6The man of God asked, “Where did it fall?” He showed him the place. He cut down a stick, threw it in there, and made the iron float.
6 Dywedodd gu373?r Duw, "Ple y syrthiodd?" Dangosodd y lle iddo; torrodd yntau ffon a'i thaflu yno, a nofiodd y fwyell.
7He said, “Take it.” So he put out his hand and took it.
7 Dywedodd, "Cod hi." Ac estynnodd ei law a'i chymryd.
8Now the king of Syria was warring against Israel; and he took counsel with his servants, saying, “My camp will be in such and such a place.”
8 Pan oedd brenin Syria am ryfela yn erbyn Israel, ymgynghorodd 'i weision a phenderfynu, "Yn y fan a'r fan y bydd fy ngwersyll."
9The man of God sent to the king of Israel, saying, “Beware that you not pass such a place; for the Syrians are coming down there.”
9 Ac anfonodd gu373?r Duw at frenin Israel a dweud, "Gwylia rhag mynd heibio'r fan a'r fan, oherwydd y mae'r Syriaid yn mynd i lawr yno."
10The king of Israel sent to the place which the man of God told him and warned him of; and he saved himself there, not once nor twice.
10 Ac anfonodd brenin Israel ddynion i'r fan a ddywedodd gu373?r Duw, ac felly y rhybuddiwyd ef i fod yn wyliadwrus, dro ar l tro.
11The heart of the king of Syria was very troubled about this. He called his servants, and said to them, “Won’t you show me which of us is for the king of Israel?”
11 Cynhyrfodd brenin Syria am hyn a galwodd ei weision ato a dweud wrthynt, "Oni ddywedwch wrthyf pwy ohonom sydd o blaid brenin Israel?"
12One of his servants said, “No, my lord, O king; but Elisha, the prophet who is in Israel, tells the king of Israel the words that you speak in your bedroom.”
12 Ond dywedodd un o'i weision, "Nid oes neb, f'arglwydd frenin; Eliseus, y proffwyd o Israel, sy'n dweud wrth frenin Israel y geiriau yr wyt ti'n eu llefaru yn d'ystafell wely."
13He said, “Go and see where he is, that I may send and get him.” It was told him, saying, “Behold, he is in Dothan.”
13 Dywedodd yntau, "Ewch ac edrychwch ble y mae ef, er mwyn i mi anfon i'w ddal."
14Therefore he sent horses, chariots, and a great army there. They came by night, and surrounded the city.
14 Dywedwyd wrtho, "Y mae yn Dothan." Ac anfonodd yno feirch a cherbydau a byddin gref. Daethant liw nos ac amgylchu'r dref.
15When the servant of the man of God had risen early, and gone out, behold, an army with horses and chariots was around the city. His servant said to him, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?”
15 Pan gododd gwas gu373?r Duw yn y bore bach, a mynd allan, dyna lle'r oedd byddin a meirch a cherbydau o amgylch y dref, ac meddai, "O feistr, beth a wnawn ni?"
16He answered, “Don’t be afraid; for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.”
16 Dywedodd yntau, "Paid ag ofni; y mae mwy gyda ni nag sydd gyda hwy."
17Elisha prayed, and said, “Yahweh, please open his eyes, that he may see.” Yahweh opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire around Elisha.
17 Yna gweddodd Eliseus, "ARGLWYDD, agor ei lygaid, iddo weld." Ac agorodd yr ARGLWYDD lygaid y llanc, ac yna fe welodd y mynydd yn llawn meirch a cherbydau tanllyd o gwmpas Eliseus.
18When they came down to him, Elisha prayed to Yahweh, and said, “Please strike this people with blindness.” He struck them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.
18 Pan ddaeth y Syriaid i lawr ato, gweddodd Eliseus ar yr ARGLWYDD a dweud, "Taro'r bobl hyn yn ddall," a thrawyd hwy'n ddall, yn l gair Eliseus.
19Elisha said to them, “This is not the way, neither is this the city. Follow me, and I will bring you to the man whom you seek.” He led them to Samaria.
19 A dywedodd Eliseus wrthynt, "Nid dyma'r ffordd; nid hon yw'r dref. Dilynwch fi, ac af chwi at y gu373?r yr ydych yn ei geisio." Ac arweiniodd hwy i Samaria.
20It happened, when they had come into Samaria, that Elisha said, “Yahweh, open the eyes of these men, that they may see.” Yahweh opened their eyes, and they saw; and behold, they were in the midst of Samaria.
20 Wedi iddynt gyrraedd Samaria, dywedodd Eliseus, "ARGLWYDD, agor lygaid y bobl hyn, iddynt weld." Pan agorodd yr ARGLWYDD eu llygaid a hwythau'n gweld, yno yng nghanol Samaria yr oeddent.
21The king of Israel said to Elisha, when he saw them, “My father, shall I strike them? Shall I strike them?”
21 A phan welodd brenin Israel hwy, gofynnodd i Eliseus, "Fy nhad, a gaf fi eu lladd bob un?"
22He answered, “You shall not strike them. Would you strike those whom you have taken captive with your sword and with your bow? Set bread and water before them, that they may eat and drink, and go to their master.”
22 Atebodd yntau, "Na, paid 'u lladd. A fyddit ti'n lladd y rhai a gymerit yn gaeth trwy dy gleddyf a'th fwa? Rho fara a du373?r o'u blaenau, iddynt gael bwyta ac yfed a mynd yn l at eu meistr."
23He prepared great feast for them. When they had eaten and drunk, he sent them away, and they went to their master. The bands of Syria stopped raiding the land of Israel.
23 Arlwyodd wledd fawr iddynt, ac wedi iddynt fwyta ac yfed, gollyngodd hwy. Aethant at eu meistr, ac ni ddaeth byddinoedd Syria rhagor i dir Israel.
24It happened after this, that Benhadad king of Syria gathered all his army, and went up and besieged Samaria.
24 Ymhen amser, cynullodd Ben-hadad brenin Syria ei holl fyddin a mynd i warchae ar Samaria.
25There was a great famine in Samaria. Behold, they besieged it, until a donkey’s head was sold for eighty pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a kab of dove’s dung for five pieces of silver.
25 Yna bu newyn mawr yn Samaria, a'r gwarchae mor dynn nes bod pen asyn yn costio pedwar ugain o siclau arian, a chwarter pwys o dail colomen bum sicl.
26As the king of Israel was passing by on the wall, a woman cried to him, saying, “Help, my lord, O king!”
26 Fel yr oedd brenin Israel yn cerdded ar y mur, gwaeddodd gwraig arno, "F'arglwydd frenin, helpa fi!"
27He said, “If Yahweh doesn’t help you, from where could I help you? From of the threshing floor, or from the winepress?”
27 Ond dywedodd, "Na! Bydded i'r ARGLWYDD dy helpu; o ble y caf fi help iti ai o'r llawr dyrnu neu o'r gwinwryf?"
28The king said to her, “What ails you?” She answered, “This woman said to me, ‘Give your son, that we may eat him today, and we will eat my son tomorrow.’
28 Yna gofynnodd y brenin, "Beth sydd o'i le?" Meddai hithau, "Dywedodd y ddynes yma wrthyf, 'Dyro di dy blentyn inni ei fwyta heddiw, a chawn fwyta fy mab i yfory.'
29So we boiled my son, and ate him: and I said to her on the next day, ‘Give your son, that we may eat him;’ and she has hidden her son.”
29 Felly berwyd fy mab i a'i fwyta, ac yna dywedais wrthi y diwrnod wedyn, 'Dyro dithau dy fab inni ei fwyta.' Ond y mae hi wedi cuddio'i phlentyn."
30It happened, when the king heard the words of the woman, that he tore his clothes (now he was passing by on the wall); and the people looked, and behold, he had sackcloth underneath on his flesh.
30 Pan glywodd y brenin eiriau'r wraig, rhwygodd ei wisg; a chan ei fod yn cerdded ar y mur, gwelodd y bobl ei fod yn gwisgo sachliain yn nesaf at ei groen.
31Then he said, “God do so to me, and more also, if the head of Elisha the son of Shaphat shall stay on him this day.”
31 Ac meddai, "Fel hyn y gwnelo Duw i mi, a rhagor, os ceidw Eliseus fab Saffat ei ben ar ei ysgwyddau heddiw."
32But Elisha was sitting in his house, and the elders were sitting with him. Then the king sent a man from before him; but before the messenger came to him, he said to the elders, “Do you see how this son of a murderer has sent to take away my head? Behold, when the messenger comes, shut the door, and hold the door shut against him. Isn’t the sound of his master’s feet behind him?”
32 Gartref yr oedd Eliseus, a'r henuriaid yn eistedd gydag ef. Anfonodd y brenin u373?r o'i lys, ond cyn i'r negesydd gyrraedd, yr oedd Eliseus wedi dweud wrth yr henuriaid, "A welwch chwi fod y cyw llofrudd hwn wedi anfon rhywun i dorri fy mhen? Edrychwch; pan fydd y negesydd yn cyrraedd, caewch y drws a daliwch y drws yn ei erbyn. Onid wyf yn clywed su373?n traed ei feistr yn ei ddilyn?"
33While he was still talking with them, behold, the messenger came down to him. Then he said, “Behold, this evil is from Yahweh. Why should I wait for Yahweh any longer?”
33 A thra oedd eto'n siarad hwy, dyna'r brenin yn cyrraedd ac yn dweud, "Oddi wrth yr ARGLWYDD y daeth ein haflwydd, pam y disgwyliaf rhagor wrtho?"
