1Elisha the prophet called one of the sons of the prophets, and said to him, “Put your belt on your waist, take this vial of oil in your hand, and go to Ramoth Gilead.
1 Galwodd y proffwyd Eliseus ar un o'r proffwydi a dweud wrtho, "Clyma dy wisg am dy ganol, cymer y ffiol olew hon yn dy law a dos i Ramoth-gilead.
2When you come there, find Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi, and go in, and make him arise up from among his brothers, and carry him to an inner room.
2 Wedi iti gyrraedd, edrych yno am Jehu fab Jehosaffat, fab Nimsi;
3Then take the vial of oil, and pour it on his head, and say, ‘Thus says Yahweh, “I have anointed you king over Israel.”’ Then open the door, flee, and don’t wait.”
3 yna dos a chymer ef allan o blith ei gymrodyr a mynd ag ef i ystafell fewnol, a chymryd y ffiol olew a'i harllwys ar ei ben a dweud, 'Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD: 'Rwy'n dy eneinio'n frenin ar Israel.' Yna agor y drws a ffo heb oedi."
4So the young man, even the young man the prophet, went to Ramoth Gilead.
4 Aeth y llanc o broffwyd i Ramoth-gilead.
5When he came, behold, the captains of the army were sitting. Then he said, “I have a message for you, captain.” Jehu said, “To which of us all?” He said, “To you, O captain.”
5 A phan gyrhaeddodd, yr oedd swyddogion y fyddin yn eistedd gyda'i gilydd, a dywedodd, "Y mae gennyf neges i ti, syr." Gofynnodd Jehu, "I ba un ohonom?" "I ti, syr," meddai yntau.
6He arose, and went into the house. Then he poured the oil on his head, and said to him, “Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel, ‘I have anointed you king over the people of Yahweh, even over Israel.
6 Cododd a mynd i mewn; yna tywalltodd y llanc yr olew ar ben Jehu, a dweud wrtho, "Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD, Duw Israel: Rwy'n dy eneinio'n frenin ar Israel, pobl yr ARGLWYDD.
7You shall strike the house of Ahab your master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of Yahweh, at the hand of Jezebel.
7 Taro du375? Ahab, dy feistr, fel y caf ddial ar Jesebel am waed fy ngweision y proffwydi, a holl weision yr ARGLWYDD.
8For the whole house of Ahab shall perish. I will cut off from Ahab everyone who urinates against a wall, or, male both him who is shut up and him who is left at large in Israel.
8 Difethir holl du375? Ahab, a distrywiaf bob gwryw sydd gan Ahab yn Israel, caeth neu rydd.
9I will make the house of Ahab like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, and like the house of Baasha the son of Ahijah.
9 A gwnaf du375? Ahab fel tu375? Jeroboam fab Nebat a thu375? Baasa fab Aheia.
10The dogs will eat Jezebel on the plot of ground of Jezreel, and there shall be none to bury her.’” He opened the door, and fled.
10 Ac am Jesebel, bydd y cu373?n yn ei bwyta yn rhandir Jesreel, heb neb i'w chladdu." Yna fe agorodd y drws a ffoi.
11Then Jehu came forth to the servants of his lord: and one said to him, “Is all well? Why did this mad fellow come to you?” He said to them, “You know the man and what his talk was.”
11 Pan ddaeth Jehu allan at weision eraill ei feistr, holodd un, "A yw popeth yn iawn? Pam y daeth yr ynfyd yna atat?" Atebodd yntau, "Gwyddoch am y dyn a'i siarad."
12They said, “That is a lie. Tell us now.” He said, “He said to me, ‘Thus says Yahweh, I have anointed you king over Israel.’”
12 "Paid 'th gelwydd," meddent, "da thi, dywed wrthym." Ac atebodd, "Dyma'r hyn a ddywedodd wrthyf: 'Fel hyn y dywed yr ARGLWYDD: Rwy'n dy eneinio'n frenin ar Israel.'"
13Then they hurried, and took every man his garment, and put it under him on the top of the stairs, and blew the trumpet, saying, “Jehu is king.”
13 Yna cipiodd pob un ddilledyn a'i roi dano ar ben y grisiau, a chwythu utgorn a dweud, "Jehu sydd frenin!"
14So Jehu the son of Jehoshaphat the son of Nimshi conspired against Joram. (Now Joram was keeping Ramoth Gilead, he and all Israel, because of Hazael king of Syria;
14 A gwnaeth Jehu fab Jehosaffat, fab Nimsi gynllwyn yn erbyn Joram. Yr oedd Joram a holl Israel ar wyliadwriaeth yn Ramoth-gilead rhag Hasael brenin Syria;
15but king Joram was returned to be healed in Jezreel of the wounds which the Syrians had given him, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria.) Jehu said, “If this is your thinking, then let no one escape and go out of the city, to go to tell it in Jezreel.”
15 ond yr oedd Joram wedi dychwelyd adref i Jesreel i wella o'r clwyfau a gafodd gan y Syriaid wrth ymladd Hasael brenin Syria. A dywedodd Jehu, "Os dyma'ch teimlad, peidiwch gadael i neb ddianc o'r ddinas i yngan gair yn Jesreel."
16So Jehu rode in a chariot, and went to Jezreel; for Joram lay there. Ahaziah king of Judah had come down to see Joram.
16 Aeth Jehu yn ei gerbyd am Jesreel, gan fod Joram yn orweiddiog yno. Ac yr oedd Ahaseia brenin Jwda wedi dod i edrych am Joram.
17Now the watchman was standing on the tower in Jezreel, and he spied the company of Jehu as he came, and said, “I see a company.” Joram said, “Take a horseman, and send to meet them, and let him say, ‘Is it peace?’”
17 Yr oedd gwyliwr yn sefyll ar du373?r yn Jesreel, a gwelodd fintai Jehu yn dod, a dywedodd, "Rwy'n gweld mintai." Dywedodd Joram, "Dewis farchog, a'i anfon i'w cyfarfod, i ofyn a yw popeth yn iawn."
18So there went one on horseback to meet him, and said, “Thus says the king, ‘Is it peace?’” Jehu said, “What do you have to do with peace? Fall in behind me!” The watchman said, “The messenger came to them, but he isn’t coming back.”
18 Yna fe aeth marchog i'w cyfarfod a dweud, "Fel hyn y mae'r brenin yn gofyn; 'A yw popeth yn iawn?'" Ac meddai Jehu, "Pa wahaniaeth i ti a yw popeth yn iawn? Tyrd i'm canlyn." Cyhoeddodd y gwyliwr, "Y mae'r negesydd wedi cyrraedd atynt, ond nid yw'n dod yn l."
19Then he sent out a second on horseback, who came to them, and said, “Thus says the king, ‘Is it peace?’” Jehu answered, “What do you have to do with peace? Fall in behind me!”
19 Yna anfonwyd ail farchog, a phan gyrhaeddodd atynt, dywedodd, "Fel hyn y dywed y brenin; 'A yw popeth yn iawn?" Atebodd Jehu, "Pa wahaniaeth i ti a yw popeth yn iawn? Tyrd i'm canlyn."
20The watchman said, “He came to them, and isn’t coming back. The driving is like the driving of Jehu the son of Nimshi; for he drives furiously.”
20 A chyhoeddodd y gwyliwr, "Y mae wedi cyrraedd atynt, ond nid yw'n dod yn l; ac y mae'r gyrru fel gyrru Jehu fab Nimsi, oherwydd y mae'n gyrru'n ynfyd."
21Joram said, “Get ready!” They got his chariot ready. Joram king of Israel and Ahaziah king of Judah went out, each in his chariot, and they went out to meet Jehu, and found him in the portion of Naboth the Jezreelite.
21 Dywedodd Joram, "Cyplwch fy ngherbyd." Ac wedi iddynt ei gyplu, aeth Joram brenin Israel ac Ahaseia brenin Jwda allan bob un yn ei gerbyd, i gyfarfod Jehu; a chawsant ef yn rhandir Naboth y Jesreeliad.
22It happened, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, “Is it peace, Jehu?” He answered, “What peace, so long as the prostitution of your mother Jezebel and her witchcraft abound?”
22 Pan welodd Joram Jehu gofynnodd, "A yw popeth yn iawn, Jehu?" Atebodd yntau, "Sut y gall fod yn iawn tra bo cymaint o buteindra a hudoliaeth dy fam Jesebel yn aros?"
23Joram turned his hands, and fled, and said to Ahaziah, “There is treason, Ahaziah!”
23 Yna troes Joram ei gerbyd yn l a ffoi, a gweiddi ar Ahaseia, "Brad, Ahaseia!"
24Jehu drew his bow with his full strength, and struck Joram between his arms; and the arrow went out at his heart, and he sunk down in his chariot.
24 Cydiodd Jehu yn ei fwa a saethu Joram rhwng ei ysgwyddau nes i'r saeth fynd trwy ei galon, a syrthiodd i'r cerbyd.
25Then Jehu said to Bidkar his captain, “Pick him up, and throw him in the plot of the field of Naboth the Jezreelite; for remember how, when you and I rode together after Ahab his father, Yahweh laid this burden on him:
25 Dywedodd Jehu wrth Bidcar ei is-gapten, "Gafael ynddo a bwrw ef i randir Naboth y Jesreeliad; oblegid rwyf fi a thithau'n cofio, pan oeddem yn cydyrru cerbyd ar l ei dad Ahab, fod yr ARGLWYDD wedi cyhoeddi'r oracl hwn yn ei erbyn:
26‘Surely I have seen yesterday the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons,’ says Yahweh; ‘and I will repay you in this plot of ground,’ says Yahweh. Now therefore take and cast him onto the plot of ground, according to the word of Yahweh.”
26 'Cyn wired ag y gwelais waed Naboth a'i feibion ddoe, medd yr ARGLWYDD, fe dalaf yn l i ti yn y rhandir hwn, medd yr ARGLWYDD'; felly, gafael ynddo a bwrw ef allan i'r rhandir, yn l gair yr ARGLWYDD."
27But when Ahaziah the king of Judah saw this, he fled by the way of the garden house. Jehu followed after him, and said, “Strike him also in the chariot!” They struck him at the ascent of Gur, which is by Ibleam. He fled to Megiddo, and died there.
27 Pan welodd Ahaseia brenin Jwda hyn, ffodd i gyfeiriad Beth-haggan, a Jehu yn erlyn ar ei l ac yn dweud, "Tarwch yntau hefyd." A thrawsant ef yn ei gerbyd wrth allt Gur ger Ibleam, ond ffodd i Megido a marw yno.
28His servants carried him in a chariot to Jerusalem, and buried him in his tomb with his fathers in the city of David.
28 Yna cludodd ei weision ef i Jerwsalem, a'i gladdu yn ei feddrod gyda'i ragflaenwyr yn Ninas Dafydd.
29In the eleventh year of Joram the son of Ahab began Ahaziah to reign over Judah.
29 Yn yr unfed flwyddyn ar ddeg i Joram fab Ahab y daeth Ahaseia yn frenin ar Jwda.
30When Jehu had come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her eyes, and attired her head, and looked out at the window.
30 Daeth Jehu i Jesreel. Pan glywodd Jesebel, colurodd ei hwyneb ac addurno ei phen, ac edrychodd allan trwy'r ffenestr.
31As Jehu entered in at the gate, she said, “Do you come in peace, Zimri, you murderer of your master?”
31 Fel yr oedd Jehu yn cyrraedd y porth, dywedodd wrtho, "A fydd heddwch, Simri, llofrudd ei feistr?"
32He lifted up his face to the window, and said, “Who is on my side? Who?” Two or three eunuchs looked out at him.
32 Cododd yntau ei olwg at y ffenestr a gofyn, "Pwy sydd o'm plaid? Pwy?" Edrychodd dau neu dri o'r gweision allan, ac meddai Jehu, "Taflwch hi i lawr."
33He said, “Throw her down!” So they threw her down; and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses. Then he trampled her under foot.
33 Taflasant hi i lawr, a thasgodd peth o'i gwaed ar y pared ac ar y meirch, a mathrwyd hithau.
34When he had come in, he ate and drink; and he said, “See now to this cursed woman, and bury her; for she is a king’s daughter.”
34 Wedi iddo fwyta ac yfed, dywedodd, "Gofalwch am gladdu'r ddynes felltigedig yna, oblegid merch i frenin oedd hi."
35They went to bury her; but they found no more of her than the skull, and the feet, and the palms of her hands.
35 Ond pan aethant i'w chladdu, ni chawsant ddim ohoni ond y benglog a'r traed a chledrau'r dwylo.
36Therefore they came back, and told him. He said, “This is the word of Yahweh, which he spoke by his servant Elijah the Tishbite, saying, ‘The dogs will eat the flesh of Jezebel on the plot of Jezreel,
36 A phan ddaethant yn l a dweud wrtho, dywedodd Jehu, "Dyma a fynegodd yr ARGLWYDD drwy ei was Elias y Thesbiad: Yn rhandir Jesreel fe fwyty'r cu373?n gnawd Jesebel,
37and the body of Jezebel shall be as dung on the face of the field in the portion of Jezreel, so that they shall not say, “This is Jezebel.”’”
37 a bydd corff Jesebel fel tail ar wyneb cae yn rhandir Jesreel, fel na ellir dweud, 'Dyma Jesebel.'"
