1After this it happened that David struck the Philistines, and subdued them: and David took the bridle of the mother city out of the hand of the Philistines.
1 Wedi hyn gorchfygodd Dafydd y Philistiaid a'u darostwng, a chipiodd Metheg-amma oddi arnynt.
2He struck Moab, and measured them with the line, making them to lie down on the ground; and he measured two lines to put to death, and one full line to keep alive. The Moabites became servants to David, and brought tribute.
2 Yna gorchfygodd y Moabiaid, ac wedi gwneud iddynt orwedd ar lawr, fe'u mesurodd � llinyn; mesurodd ddau hyd llinyn i'w lladd, ac un hyd llinyn i'w cadw'n fyw. Felly daeth y Moabiaid yn ddeiliaid i Ddafydd a thalu treth iddo.
3David struck also Hadadezer the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to recover his dominion at the River.
3 Gorchfygodd Dafydd hefyd Hadadeser fab Rehob, brenin Soba, pan oedd hwnnw ar ei ffordd i ailsefydlu ei awdurdod ar lan afon Ewffrates.
4David took from him one thousand seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: and David hamstrung all the chariot horses, but reserved of them for one hundred chariots.
4 Cipiodd Dafydd oddi arno fil a saith gant o farchogion ac ugain mil o wu375?r traed. Cadwodd Dafydd gant o feirch cerbyd, ond torrodd linynnau gar y lleill i gyd.
5When the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadadezer king of Zobah, David struck of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.
5 Pan ddaeth Syriaid Damascus i helpu Hadadeser brenin Soba, trawodd Dafydd ddwy fil ar hugain ohonynt.
6Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus; and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought tribute. Yahweh gave victory to David wherever he went.
6 Yna gosododd Dafydd garsiynau ymhlith Syriaid Damascus, a daeth y Syriaid yn weision i Ddafydd a thalu treth iddo. Yr oedd yr ARGLWYDD yn rhoi buddugoliaeth i Ddafydd ple bynnag yr �i.
7David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.
7 Cymerodd Dafydd y tarianau aur oedd gan weision Hadadeser, a dygodd hwy i Jerwsalem.
8From Betah and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, king David took exceeding much brass.
8 Hefyd cymerodd y Brenin Dafydd lawer iawn o bres o Beta a Berothai, trefi Hadadeser.
9When Toi king of Hamath heard that David had struck all the army of Hadadezer,
9 Pan glywodd Toi brenin Hamath fod Dafydd wedi gorchfygu holl fyddin Hadadeser,
10then Toi sent Joram his son to king David, to Greet him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer and struck him: for Hadadezer had wars with Toi. Joram brought with him vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of brass:
10 fe anfonodd ei fab Joram i ddymuno'n dda i'r Brenin Dafydd a'i longyfarch am iddo ymladd yn erbyn Hadadeser a'i orchfygu; oherwydd bu Hadadeser yn rhyfela'n gyson yn erbyn Toi. Dygodd Joram gydag ef lestri o arian ac o aur ac o bres,
11King David also dedicated these to Yahweh, with the silver and gold that he dedicated of all the nations which he subdued;
11 a chysegrodd y Brenin Dafydd hwy i'r ARGLWYDD, yn ogystal �'r arian a'r aur oddi wrth yr holl genhedloedd yr oedd wedi eu goresgyn �
12of Syria, and of Moab, and of the children of Ammon, and of the Philistines, and of Amalek, and of the spoil of Hadadezer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah.
12 Syria, Moab, yr Ammoniaid, y Philistiaid a'r Amaleciaid � a hefyd ysbail Hadadeser fab Rehob, brenin Soba.
13David earned a reputation when he returned from smiting the Syrians in the Valley of Salt, even eighteen thousand men.
13 Enillodd Dafydd fri pan ddych-welodd ar �l gorchfygu deunaw mil o Edomiaid yn Nyffryn yr Halen.
14He put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom put he garrisons, and all the Edomites became servants to David. Yahweh gave victory to David wherever he went.
14 Gosododd garsiynau yn Edom, a daeth holl Edom yn ddeiliaid i Ddafydd. Yr oedd yr ARGLWYDD yn rhoi buddugol-iaeth i Ddafydd ple bynnag yr �i.
15David reigned over all Israel; and David executed justice and righteousness to all his people.
15 Yr oedd Dafydd yn teyrnasu dros Israel gyfan, ac yn gweinyddu barn a chyfiawnder i'w holl bobl.
16Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the army; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder;
16 Joab fab Serfia oedd dros y fyddin, a Jehosaffat fab Ahilud yn gofiadur.
17and Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, were priests; and Seraiah was scribe;
17 Sadoc fab Ahitub, ac Ahimelech fab Abiathar oedd yr offeiriaid, a Seraia yn ysgrifennydd.
18and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David’s sons were chief ministers.
18 Benaia fab Jehoiada oedd dros y Cerethiaid a'r Pelethiaid, ac yr oedd meibion Dafydd yn offeiriaid.
