1Some men came down from Judea and taught the brothers, “Unless you are circumcised after the custom of Moses, you can’t be saved.”
1 Yna daeth rhai i lawr o Jwdea a dysgu'r credinwyr: "Os nad enwaedir arnoch yn l defod Moses, ni ellir eich achub."
2Therefore when Paul and Barnabas had no small discord and discussion with them, they appointed Paul and Barnabas, and some others of them, to go up to Jerusalem to the apostles and elders about this question.
2 A chododd ymryson ac ymddadlau nid bychan rhyngddynt a Paul a Barnabas, a threfnwyd bod Paul a Barnabas, a rhai eraill o'u plith, yn mynd i fyny at yr apostolion a'r henuriaid yn Jerwsalem ynglu375?n 'r cwestiwn yma.
3They, being sent on their way by the assembly, passed through both Phoenicia and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles. They caused great joy to all the brothers. The word for “brothers” here and where the context allows may also be correctly translated “brothers and sisters” or “siblings.”
3 Felly anfonwyd hwy gan yr eglwys, ac ar eu taith trwy Phoenicia a Samaria buont yn adrodd yr hanes am dredigaeth y Cenhedloedd, a pharasant lawenydd mawr i'r holl gredinwyr.
4When they had come to Jerusalem, they were received by the assembly and the apostles and the elders, and they reported all things that God had done with them.
4 Wedi iddynt gyrraedd Jerwsalem, fe'u derbyniwyd gan yr eglwys a'r apostolion a'r henuriaid, a mynegasant gymaint yr oedd Duw wedi ei wneud trwyddynt hwy.
5But some of the sect of the Pharisees who believed rose up, saying, “It is necessary to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.”
5 Ond cododd rhai credinwyr oedd o sect y Phariseaid, a dweud, "Y mae'n rhaid enwaedu arnynt, a gorchymyn iddynt gadw Cyfraith Moses."
6The apostles and the elders were gathered together to see about this matter.
6 Ymgynullodd yr apostolion a'r henuriaid i ystyried y mater yma.
7When there had been much discussion, Peter rose up and said to them, “Brothers, you know that a good while ago God made a choice among you, that by my mouth the nations should hear the word of the Good News, and believe.
7 Ar l llawer o ddadlau, cododd Pedr a dywedodd wrthynt: "Gyfeillion, gwyddoch chwi fod Duw yn y dyddiau cynnar yn eich plith wedi dewis bod y Cenhedloedd, trwy fy ngenau i, yn cael clywed gair yr Efengyl, a chredu.
8God, who knows the heart, testified about them, giving them the Holy Spirit, just like he did to us.
8 Ac y mae Duw, sy'n adnabod calonnau, wedi dwyn tystiolaeth iddynt trwy roi iddynt hwy yr Ysbryd Gln yr un fath ag i ninnau;
9He made no distinction between us and them, cleansing their hearts by faith.
9 ac ni wnaeth ddim gwahaniaeth rhyngom ni a hwythau, gan iddo lanhau eu calonnau hwy drwy ffydd.
10Now therefore why do you tempt God, that you should put a yoke on the neck of the disciples which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
10 Yn awr, ynteu, pam yr ydych yn rhoi prawf ar Dduw trwy osod iau ar war y disgyblion, na allodd ein hynafiaid na ninnau mo'i dwyn?
11But we believe that we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, TR adds “Christ” just as they are.”
11 Ond yr ydym ni'n credu mai trwy ras yr Arglwydd Iesu yr achubir ni, a hwythau yr un modd."
12All the multitude kept silence, and they listened to Barnabas and Paul reporting what signs and wonders God had done among the nations through them.
12 Tawodd yr holl gynulliad, a gwrando ar Barnabas a Paul yn adrodd am yr holl arwyddion a rhyfeddodau yr oedd Duw wedi eu gwneud ymhlith y Cenhedloedd drwyddynt hwy.
13After they were silent, James answered, “Brothers, listen to me.
13 Wedi iddynt dewi, dywedodd Iago, "Gyfeillion, gwrandewch arnaf fi.
14Simeon has reported how God first visited the nations, to take out of them a people for his name.
14 Y mae Simeon wedi dweud sut y gofalodd Duw gyntaf am gael o blith y Cenhedloedd bobl yn dwyn ei enw.
15This agrees with the words of the prophets. As it is written,
15 Ac y mae geiriau'r proffwydi yn cytuno hyn, fel y mae'n ysgrifenedig:
16‘After these things I will return. I will again build the tabernacle of David, which has fallen. I will again build its ruins. I will set it up,
16 '"Ar l hyn dychwelaf, ac ailadeiladaf babell syrthiedig Dafydd, ailadeiladaf ei hadfeilion, a'i hatgyweirio,
17That the rest of men may seek after the Lord; All the Gentiles who are called by my name, Says the Lord, who does all these things. Amos 9:11-12
17 fel y ceisier yr Arglwydd gan y bobl sy'n weddill, a chan yr holl Genhedloedd y galwyd fy enw arnynt," medd yr Arglwydd, sy'n gwneud y pethau hyn
18All his works are known to God from eternity.’
18 yn hysbys erioed.'
19“Therefore my judgment is that we don’t trouble those from among the Gentiles who turn to God,
19 Felly fy marn i yw na ddylem boeni'r rhai o blith y Cenhedloedd sy'n troi at Dduw,
20but that we write to them that they abstain from the pollution of idols, from sexual immorality, from what is strangled, and from blood.
20 ond ysgrifennu atynt am iddynt ymgadw rhag bwyta pethau sydd wedi eu halogi gan eilunod, a rhag anfoesoldeb rhywiol, a rhag bwyta na'r hyn sydd wedi ei dagu, na gwaed.
21For Moses from generations of old has in every city those who preach him, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath.”
21 Oherwydd y mae gan Moses, er yr oesau cyntaf, rai sy'n ei bregethu ym mhob tref, ac fe'i darllenir yn y synagogau bob Saboth."
22Then it seemed good to the apostles and the elders, with the whole assembly, to choose men out of their company, and send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas: Judas called Barsabbas, and Silas, chief men among the brothers. The word for “brothers” here and where the context allows may also be correctly translated “brothers and sisters” or “siblings.”
22 Yna penderfynodd yr apostolion a'r henuriaid, ynghyd 'r holl eglwys, ddewis gwu375?r o'u plith a'u hanfon i Antiochia gyda Paul a Barnabas, sef Jwdas, a elwid Barsabas, a Silas, gwu375?r blaenllaw ymhlith y credinwyr.
23They wrote these things by their hand: “The apostles, the elders, and the brothers, to the brothers who are of the Gentiles in Antioch, Syria, and Cilicia: greetings.
23 Rhoesant y llythyr hwn iddynt i fynd yno: "Y brodyr, yn apostolion a henuriaid, at y credinwyr o blith y Cenhedloedd yn Antiochia a Syria a Cilicia, cyfarchion.
24Because we have heard that some who went out from us have troubled you with words, unsettling your souls, saying, ‘You must be circumcised and keep the law,’ to whom we gave no commandment;
24 Oherwydd inni glywed fod rhai ohonom ni wedi'ch tarfu 'u geiriau, ac ansefydlogi eich meddyliau, heb i ni eu gorchymyn,
25it seemed good to us, having come to one accord, to choose out men and send them to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,
25 yr ydym wedi penderfynu'n unfryd ddewis gwu375?r a'u hanfon atoch gyda'n cyfeillion annwyl, Barnabas a Paul,
26men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
26 dynion sydd wedi cyflwyno eu bywydau dros enw ein Harglwydd Iesu Grist.
27We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who themselves will also tell you the same things by word of mouth.
27 Felly yr ydym yn anfon Jwdas a Silas, a byddant hwy'n mynegi yr un neges ar lafar.
28For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay no greater burden on you than these necessary things:
28 Penderfynwyd gan yr Ysbryd Gln a chennym ninnau beidio gosod arnoch ddim mwy o faich na'r pethau angenrheidiol hyn:
29that you abstain from things sacrificed to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality, from which if you keep yourselves, it will be well with you. Farewell.”
29 ymgadw rhag bwyta yr hyn sydd wedi ei aberthu i eilunod, neu waed, neu'r hyn sydd wedi ei dagu, a rhag anfoesoldeb rhywiol. Os cadwch rhag y pethau hyn, fe wnewch yn dda. Ffarwel."
30So, when they were sent off, they came to Antioch. Having gathered the multitude together, they delivered the letter.
30 Anfonwyd hwy, felly, a daethant i lawr i Antiochia, ac wedi galw'r gynulleidfa ynghyd, cyflwynwyd y llythyr.
31When they had read it, they rejoiced over the encouragement.
31 Wedi ei ddarllen, yr oeddent yn llawen ar gyfrif yr anogaeth yr oedd yn ei rhoi.
32Judas and Silas, also being prophets themselves, encouraged the brothers with many words, and strengthened them.
32 Gan fod Jwdas a Silas hwythau'n broffwydi, dywedasant lawer i annog y credinwyr a'u cadarnhau.
33After they had spent some time there, they were sent back with greetings from the brothers to the apostles.
33 Wedi iddynt dreulio peth amser fe'u gollyngwyd mewn tangnefedd gan y credinwyr, i ddychwelyd at y rhai a'u hanfonodd.
34 Some manuscripts add: But it seemed good to Silas to stay there.
34 [{cf15i Ond penderfynodd Silas aros yno.}]
35But Paul and Barnabas stayed in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.
35 Arhosodd Paul a Barnabas yn Antiochia, gan ddysgu a phregethu gair yr Arglwydd, ynghyd llawer eraill.
36After some days Paul said to Barnabas, “Let’s return now and visit our brothers in every city in which we proclaimed the word of the Lord, to see how they are doing.”
36 Wedi rhai dyddiau, dywedodd Paul wrth Barnabas, "Gadewch inni ddychwelyd yn awr, ac ymweld 'r credinwyr ym mhob un o'r dinasoedd y buom yn cyhoeddi gair yr Arglwydd ynddynt, i weld sut y mae hi arnynt."
37Barnabas planned to take John, who was called Mark, with them also.
37 Yr oedd Barnabas yn dymuno cymryd Ioan, a elwid Marc, gyda hwy;
38But Paul didn’t think that it was a good idea to take with them someone who had withdrawn from them in Pamphylia, and didn’t go with them to do the work.
38 ond yr oedd Paul yn barnu na ddylent gymryd yn gydymaith un oedd wedi cefnu arnynt yn Pamffylia, a heb fynd ymlaen a chydweithio hwy.
39Then the contention grew so sharp that they separated from each other. Barnabas took Mark with him, and sailed away to Cyprus,
39 Bu cymaint cynnen rhyngddynt nes iddynt ymwahanu. Cymerodd Barnabas Marc, a hwylio i Cyprus;
40but Paul chose Silas, and went out, being commended by the brothers to the grace of God.
40 ond dewisodd Paul Silas, ac aeth i ffwrdd, wedi ei gyflwyno gan y credinwyr i ras yr Arglwydd.
41He went through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the assemblies.
41 A bu'n teithio drwy Syria a Cilicia, gan gadarnhau'r eglwysi.
