¹After these things Paul departed from Athens, and came to Corinth.

²He found a certain Jew named Aquila, a man of Pontus by race, who had recently come from Italy, with his wife Priscilla, because Claudius had commanded all the Jews to depart from Rome. He came to them,

² A daeth o hyd i Iddew o'r enw Acwila, brodor o Pontus, gu373?r oedd newydd ddod o'r Eidal gyda'i wraig, Priscila, o achos gorchymyn Clawdius i'r holl Iddewon ymadael � Rhufain. Aeth atynt,

³and because he practiced the same trade, he lived with them and worked, for by trade they were tent makers.

³ ac am ei fod o'r un grefft, arhosodd gyda hwy, a gweithio; gwneuthurwyr pebyll oeddent wrth eu crefft.

⁴He reasoned in the synagogue every Sabbath, and persuaded Jews and Greeks.

⁴ Byddai'n ymresymu yn y synagog bob Saboth, a cheisio argyhoeddi Iddewon a Groegiaid.

⁵But when Silas and Timothy came down from Macedonia, Paul was compelled by the Spirit, testifying to the Jews that Jesus was the Christ.

⁵ Pan ddaeth Silas a Timotheus i lawr o Facedonia, dechreuodd Paul ymroi yn llwyr i bregethu'r Gair, gan dystiolaethu wrth yr Iddewon mai Iesu oedd y Meseia.

⁶When they opposed him and blasphemed, he shook out his clothing and said to them, “Your blood be on your own heads! I am clean. From now on, I will go to the Gentiles!”

⁶ Ond yr oeddent hwy'n dal i'w wrthwynebu a'i ddifenwi, ac felly fe ysgydwodd ei ddillad a dweud wrthynt, "Ar eich pen chwi y bo'ch gwaed! Nid oes bai arnaf fi; o hyn allan mi af at y Cenhedloedd."

⁷He departed there, and went into the house of a certain man named Justus, one who worshiped God, whose house was next door to the synagogue.

⁷ Symudodd oddi yno ac aeth i du375? dyn o'r enw Titius Jwstus, un oedd yn addoli Duw; yr oedd ei du375? y drws nesaf i'r synagog.

⁸Crispus, the ruler of the synagogue, believed in the Lord with all his house. Many of the Corinthians, when they heard, believed and were baptized.

⁸ Credodd Crispus, arweinydd y synagog, yn yr Arglwydd, ynghyd �'i holl deulu. Ac wrth glywed, credodd llawer o'r Corinthiaid a chael eu bedyddio.

⁹The Lord said to Paul in the night by a vision, “Don’t be afraid, but speak and don’t be silent;

⁹ Dywedodd yr Arglwydd wrth Paul un noson, trwy weledigaeth, "Paid ag ofni, ond dal ati i lefaru, a phaid � thewi;

¹⁰ for I am with you, and no one will attack you to harm you, for I have many people in this city.”

¹⁰ oherwydd yr wyf fi gyda thi, ac ni fydd i neb ymosod arnat ti i wneud niwed iti, oblegid y mae gennyf lawer o bobl yn y ddinas hon."

¹¹He lived there a year and six months, teaching the word of God among them.

¹¹ Ac fe arhosodd flwyddyn a chwe mis, gan ddysgu gair Duw yn eu plith.

¹²But when Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews with one accord rose up against Paul and brought him before the judgment seat,

¹² Pan oedd Galio yn rhaglaw Achaia, cododd yr Iddewon yn unfryd yn erbyn Paul, a dod ag ef gerbron y llys barn,

¹³saying, “This man persuades men to worship God contrary to the law.”

¹³ gan ddweud, "Y mae hwn yn annog pobl i addoli Duw yn groes i'r Gyfraith."

¹⁴But when Paul was about to open his mouth, Gallio said to the Jews, “If indeed it were a matter of wrong or of wicked crime, you Jews, it would be reasonable that I should bear with you;

¹⁴ Pan oedd Paul ar agor ei enau, dywedodd Galio wrth yr Iddewon, "Pe bai yn fater o drosedd neu gamwedd ysgeler, byddwn wrth reswm yn rhoi gwrandawiad i chwi, Iddewon;

¹⁵but if they are questions about words and names and your own law, look to it yourselves. For I don’t want to be a judge of these matters.”

¹⁵ ond gan mai dadleuon yw'r rhain ynghylch geiriau ac enwau a'ch Cyfraith arbennig chwi, cymerwch y cyfrifoldeb eich hunain. Nid oes arnaf fi eisiau bod yn farnwr ar y pethau hyn."

¹⁶He drove them from the judgment seat.

¹⁶ A gyrrodd hwy allan o'r llys.

¹⁷Then all the Greeks laid hold on Sosthenes, the ruler of the synagogue, and beat him before the judgment seat. Gallio didn’t care about any of these things.

¹⁷ Yna gafaelodd pawb yn Sosthenes, arweinydd y synagog, a'i guro yng ngu373?ydd y llys. Ond nid oedd Galio yn poeni dim am hynny.

¹⁸Paul, having stayed after this many more days, took his leave of the brothers, The word for “brothers” here and where the context allows may also be correctly translated “brothers and sisters” or “siblings.” and sailed from there for Syria, together with Priscilla and Aquila. He shaved his head in Cenchreae, for he had a vow.

¹⁸ Arhosodd Paul yno eto gryn ddyddiau, ac wedi ffarwelio �'r credinwyr fe hwyliodd ymaith i Syria, a Priscila ac Acwila gydag ef. Eilliodd ei ben yn Cenchreae, am fod adduned arno.

¹⁹He came to Ephesus, and he left them there; but he himself entered into the synagogue, and reasoned with the Jews.

¹⁹ Pan gyraeddasant Effesus, gadawodd hwy yno, a mynd ei hun i mewn i'r synagog ac ymresymu �'r Iddewon.

²⁰When they asked him to stay with them a longer time, he declined;

²⁰ A phan ofynasant iddo aros am amser hwy, ni chydsyniodd.

²¹but taking his leave of them, and saying, “I must by all means keep this coming feast in Jerusalem, but I will return again to you if God wills,” he set sail from Ephesus.

²¹ Ond wedi ffarwelio gan ddweud, "Dychwelaf atoch eto, os Duw a'i myn", hwyliodd o Effesus.

²²When he had landed at Caesarea, he went up and greeted the assembly, and went down to Antioch.

²² Wedi glanio yng Nghesarea, aeth i fyny a chyfarchodd yr eglwys. Yna aeth i lawr i Antiochia,

²³Having spent some time there, he departed, and went through the region of Galatia, and Phrygia, in order, establishing all the disciples.

²³ ac wedi treulio peth amser yno, aeth ymaith, a theithio o le i le trwy wlad Galatia a Phrygia, gan gadarnhau'r holl ddisgyblion.

²⁴Now a certain Jew named Apollos, an Alexandrian by race, an eloquent man, came to Ephesus. He was mighty in the Scriptures.

²⁴ Daeth rhyw Iddew o'r enw Apolos i Effesus. Brodor o Alexandria ydoedd, a gu373?r huawdl, cadarn yn yr Ysgrythurau.

²⁵This man had been instructed in the way of the Lord; and being fervent in spirit, he spoke and taught accurately the things concerning Jesus, although he knew only the baptism of John.

²⁵ Yr oedd hwn wedi ei addysgu yn Ffordd yr Arglwydd, ac yn frwd ei ysbryd yr oedd yn llefaru ac yn dysgu yn fanwl y ffeithiau am Iesu, er mai am fedydd Ioan yn unig y gwyddai.

²⁶He began to speak boldly in the synagogue. But when Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him aside, and explained to him the way of God more accurately.

²⁶ Dechreuodd hefyd lefaru'n hy yn y synagog, a phan glywodd Priscila ac Acwila ef, cymerasant ef atynt, ac esbonio iddo Ffordd Duw yn fanylach.

²⁷When he had determined to pass over into Achaia, the brothers encouraged him, and wrote to the disciples to receive him. When he had come, he greatly helped those who had believed through grace;

²⁷ A chan ei fod yn dymuno mynd drosodd i Achaia, cefnogodd y credinwyr ef, ac ysgrifennu at y disgyblion, ar iddynt ei groesawu. Ac wedi iddo gyrraedd, bu'n gynhorthwy mawr i'r rhai oedd trwy ras wedi credu,

²⁸for he powerfully refuted the Jews, publicly showing by the Scriptures that Jesus was the Christ.

²⁸ oherwydd yr oedd yn mynd ati'n egniol i wrthbrofi dadleuon yr Iddewon, gan ddangos ar goedd trwy'r Ysgrythurau mai Iesu oedd y Meseia.
