¹It happened in the seventh year, in the fifth month, the tenth day of the month, that certain of the elders of Israel came to inquire of Yahweh, and sat before me.

¹ Ar y degfed dydd o'r pumed mis yn y seithfed flwyddyn, daeth rhai o henuriaid Israel i ymofyn �'r ARGLWYDD, ac yr oeddent yn eistedd o'm blaen.

²The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

² Daeth gair yr ARGLWYDD ataf a dweud,

³Son of man, speak to the elders of Israel, and tell them, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Is it to inquire of me that you have come? As I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I will not be inquired of by you.

³ "Fab dyn, llefara wrth henuriaid Israel a dywed wrthynt: 'Fel hyn y dywed yr Arglwydd DDUW: Ai i ymofyn � mi y daethoch? Cyn wired �'m bod yn fyw, medd yr Arglwydd DDUW, ni adawaf i chwi ymofyn � mi.'

⁴Will you judge them, son of man, will you judge them? Cause them to know the abominations of their fathers;

⁴ A wnei di eu barnu? A wnei eu barnu, fab dyn? P�r iddynt wybod am ffieidd-dra eu hynafiaid,

⁵and tell them, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: In the day when I chose Israel, and swore to the seed of the house of Jacob, and made myself known to them in the land of Egypt, when I swore to them, saying, I am Yahweh your God;

⁵ a dywed wrthynt, 'Fel hyn y dywed yr Arglwydd DDUW: Yn y dydd y dewisais Israel, tyngais wrth ddisgynyddion tylwyth Jacob, a datguddiais fy hun iddynt yng ngwlad yr Aifft; tyngais wrthynt a dweud, "Myfi yw'r ARGLWYDD eich Duw."

⁶in that day I swore to them, to bring them forth out of the land of Egypt into a land that I had searched out for them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands.

⁶ Y diwrnod hwnnw tyngais wrthynt y byddwn yn dod � hwy allan o wlad yr Aifft i'r wlad a geisiais iddynt, gwlad yn llifeirio o laeth a m�l, y decaf o'r holl wledydd.

⁷I said to them, Cast away every man the abominations of his eyes, and don’t defile yourselves with the idols of Egypt; I am Yahweh your God.

⁷ Dywedais wrthynt, "Pob un ohonoch, bwriwch ymaith y pethau atgas y mae eich llygaid yn syllu arnynt, a pheidiwch �'ch halogi eich hunain ag eilunod yr Aifft. Myfi yw'r ARGLWYDD eich Duw."

⁸But they rebelled against me, and would not listen to me; they each didn’t throw away the abominations of their eyes, neither did they forsake the idols of Egypt. Then I said I would pour out my wrath on them, to accomplish my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.

⁸ "'Ond bu iddynt wrthryfela yn f'erbyn a gwrthod gwrando arnaf; ni wnaeth yr un ohonynt fwrw ymaith y pethau atgas yr oedd eu llygaid yn syllu arnynt, na gadael eilunod yr Aifft. Bwriadwn dywallt fy llid a dod �'m dicter arnynt yng ngwlad yr Aifft;

⁹But I worked for my name’s sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, among which they were, in whose sight I made myself known to them, in bringing them forth out of the land of Egypt.

⁹ eto gweithredais er mwyn fy enw rhag ei halogi yng ngolwg y cenhedloedd yr oeddent yn eu mysg, a datguddiais fy hun yn eu gu373?ydd trwy fynd ag Israel allan o wlad yr Aifft.

¹⁰So I caused them to go forth out of the land of Egypt, and brought them into the wilderness.

¹⁰ Felly euthum � hwy allan o wlad yr Aifft a mynd � hwy i'r anialwch.

¹¹I gave them my statutes, and showed them my ordinances, which if a man does, he shall live in them.

¹¹ Rhoddais iddynt fy neddfau, a pheri iddynt wybod fy marnau; pwy bynnag a'u gwna, bydd fyw trwyddynt.

¹²Moreover also I gave them my Sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am Yahweh who sanctifies them.

¹² Rhoddais iddynt hefyd fy Sabothau yn arwydd rhyngom, er mwyn iddynt wybod fy mod i, yr ARGLWYDD, yn eu sancteiddio.

¹³But the house of Israel rebelled against me in the wilderness: they didn’t walk in my statutes, and they rejected my ordinances, which if a man keep, he shall live in them; and my Sabbaths they greatly profaned. Then I said I would pour out my wrath on them in the wilderness, to consume them.

¹³ "'Ond gwrthryfelodd tylwyth Israel yn f'erbyn yn yr anialwch. Nid oeddent yn dilyn fy neddfau, ac yr oeddent yn gwrthod fy marnau � er mai'r sawl a'u gwna a fydd byw � ac yn halogi'n llwyr fy Sabothau. Yna bwriadwn dywallt fy llid arnynt yn yr anialwch a'u difetha;

¹⁴But I worked for my name’s sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I brought them out.

¹⁴ eto gweithredais er mwyn fy enw, rhag ei halogi yng ngolwg y cenhedloedd y deuthum � hwy allan yn eu gu373?ydd.

¹⁵Moreover also I swore to them in the wilderness, that I would not bring them into the land which I had given them, flowing with milk and honey, which is the glory of all lands;

¹⁵ Tyngais wrthynt yn yr anialwch na fyddwn yn dod � hwy i'r wlad a roddais iddynt, gwlad yn llifeirio o laeth a m�l, y decaf o'r holl wledydd,

¹⁶because they rejected my ordinances, and didn’t walk in my statutes, and profaned my Sabbaths: for their heart went after their idols.

¹⁶ oherwydd iddynt wrthod fy marnau a pheidio � chadw fy neddfau, ond halogi fy Sabothau, am fod eu calon yn dilyn eu heilunod.

¹⁷Nevertheless my eye spared them, and I didn’t destroy them, neither did I make a full end of them in the wilderness.

¹⁷ Eto edrychais mewn tosturi arnynt, rhag eu dinistrio, ac ni roddais ddiwedd arnynt yn yr anialwch.

¹⁸I said to their children in the wilderness, Don’t walk in the statutes of your fathers, neither observe their ordinances, nor defile yourselves with their idols.

¹⁸ Dywedais wrth eu plant yn yr anialwch, "Peidiwch � dilyn deddfau eich rhieni, na chadw eu barnau, na halogi eich hunain �'u heilunod.

¹⁹I am Yahweh your God: walk in my statutes, and keep my ordinances, and do them;

¹⁹ Myfi yw'r ARGLWYDD eich Duw; dilynwch fy neddfau a gwylio eich bod yn cadw fy marnau.

²⁰and make my Sabbaths holy; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that you may know that I am Yahweh your God.

²⁰ Cadwch fy Sabothau'n sanctaidd, iddynt fod yn arwydd rhyngom, a chewch wybod mai myfi yw'r ARGLWYDD eich Duw."

²¹But the children rebelled against me; they didn’t walk in my statutes, neither kept my ordinances to do them, which if a man do, he shall live in them; they profaned my Sabbaths. Then I said I would pour out my wrath on them, to accomplish my anger against them in the wilderness.

²¹ "'Ond gwrthryfelodd eu plant yn fy erbyn. Nid oeddent yn dilyn fy neddfau, nac yn cadw fy marnau � er mai'r sawl a'u gwna a fydd byw � ac yr oeddent yn halogi fy Sabothau. Yna bwriadwn dywallt fy llid a dod �'m dicter arnynt yn yr anialwch.

²²Nevertheless I withdrew my hand, and worked for my name’s sake, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I brought them forth.

²² Ond ateliais fy llaw a gweithredais er mwyn fy enw, rhag ei halogi yng ngolwg y cenhedloedd y deuthum � hwy allan yn eu gu373?ydd.

²³Moreover I swore to them in the wilderness, that I would scatter them among the nations, and disperse them through the countries;

²³ Tyngais wrthynt yn yr anialwch y byddwn yn eu gwasgaru ymysg y cenhedloedd ac yn eu chwalu trwy'r gwledydd,

²⁴because they had not executed my ordinances, but had rejected my statutes, and had profaned my Sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers’ idols.

²⁴ oherwydd iddynt beidio � gwneud fy marnau, ond gwrthod fy neddfau, halogi fy Sabothau, a throi eu llygaid at eilunod eu hynafiaid.

²⁵Moreover also I gave them statutes that were not good, and ordinances in which they should not live;

²⁵ Yn wir, rhoddais iddynt ddeddfau heb fod yn dda, a barnau na allent fyw wrthynt;

²⁶and I polluted them in their own gifts, in that they caused to pass through the fire all that opens the womb, that I might make them desolate, to the end that they might know that I am Yahweh.

²⁶ gwneuthum iddynt eu halogi eu hunain �'u rhoddion trwy aberthu pob cyntafanedig, er mwyn imi eu brawychu, ac er mwyn iddynt wybod mai myfi yw'r ARGLWYDD.'

²⁷Therefore, son of man, speak to the house of Israel, and tell them, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: In this moreover have your fathers blasphemed me, in that they have committed a trespass against me.

²⁷ "Felly, fab dyn, llefara wrth du375? Israel a dywed wrthynt, 'Fel hyn y dywed yr Arglwydd DDUW: Yn hyn hefyd y bu i'ch hynafiaid fy nghablu a bod yn anffyddlon imi.

²⁸For when I had brought them into the land, which I swore to give to them, then they saw every high hill, and every thick tree, and they offered there their sacrifices, and there they presented the provocation of their offering; there also they made their pleasant aroma, and they poured out there their drink offerings.

²⁸ Pan ddeuthum � hwy i'r wlad yr oeddwn wedi tyngu y byddwn yn ei rhoi iddynt, a hwythau'n gweld bryn uchel neu bren deiliog, fe offryment aberthau yno a chyflwyno rhoddion a'm digiai; rhoddent yno eu harogldarth peraidd, a thywallt eu diodoffrwm.

²⁹Then I said to them, What does the high place where you go mean? So its name is called Bamah to this day.

²⁹ Yna dywedais wrthynt, "Beth yw'r uchelfa hon yr ewch iddi?" A gelwir hi yn Bama hyd y dydd hwn.'

³⁰Therefore tell the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Do you pollute yourselves in the way of your fathers? and do you play the prostitute after their abominations?

³⁰ "Am hynny, dywed wrth du375? Israel, 'Fel hyn y dywed yr Arglwydd DDUW: A ydych yn eich halogi eich hunain fel y gwnaeth eich hynafiaid, a phuteinio gyda'u heilunod atgas?

³¹and when you offer your gifts, when you make your sons to pass through the fire, do you pollute yourselves with all your idols to this day? and shall I be inquired of by you, house of Israel? As I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I will not be inquired of by you;

³¹ Pan gyflwynwch eich rhoddion, a gwneud i'ch plant fynd trwy'r t�n, yr ydych yn eich halogi eich hunain �'ch holl eilunod hyd heddiw. Sut y gadawaf i chwi ymofyn � mi, du375? Israel? Cyn wired �'m bod yn fyw, medd yr Arglwydd DDUW, ni adawaf i chwi ymofyn � mi.

³²and that which comes into your mind shall not be at all, in that you say, We will be as the nations, as the families of the countries, to serve wood and stone.

³² "'Yr ydych yn dweud, "Byddwn fel y cenhedloedd, fel pobloedd y gwledydd, yn addoli pren a charreg"; ond yn sicr ni ddigwydd yr hyn sydd yn eich meddwl.

³³As I live, says the Lord Yahweh, surely with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with wrath poured out, will I be king over you:

³³ Cyn wired �'m bod yn fyw, medd yr Arglwydd DDUW, llywodraethaf drosoch � llaw gref, � braich estynedig ac � llid tywalltedig.

³⁴and I will bring you out from the peoples, and will gather you out of the countries in which you are scattered, with a mighty hand, and with an outstretched arm, and with wrath poured out;

³⁴ Dof � chwi o blith y cenhedloedd, a'ch casglu o'r gwledydd lle gwasgarwyd chwi, � llaw gref, � braich estynedig ac � llid tywalltedig.

³⁵and I will bring you into the wilderness of the peoples, and there will I enter into judgment with you face to face.

³⁵ Dof � chwi i anialwch y cenhedloedd a'ch barnu yno wyneb yn wyneb.

³⁶Like as I entered into judgment with your fathers in the wilderness of the land of Egypt, so will I enter into judgment with you, says the Lord Yahweh.

³⁶ Fel y bernais eich hynafiaid yn anialwch gwlad yr Aifft, felly y barnaf chwithau, medd yr Arglwydd DDUW.

³⁷I will cause you to pass under the rod, and I will bring you into the bond of the covenant;

³⁷ Gwnaf i chwi fynd heibio dan y wialen, a'ch dwyn i rwymyn y cyfamod.

³⁸and I will purge out from among you the rebels, and those who disobey against me; I will bring them forth out of the land where they live, but they shall not enter into the land of Israel: and you shall know that I am Yahweh.

³⁸ Fe garthaf o'ch plith y rhai sy'n gwrthryfela ac yn codi yn f'erbyn; er imi ddod � hwy o'r wlad lle maent yn aros, eto nid �nt i dir Israel. Yna byddwch yn gwybod mai myfi yw'r ARGLWYDD.'

³⁹As for you, house of Israel, thus says the Lord Yahweh: Go, serve everyone his idols, and hereafter also, if you will not listen to me; but my holy name you shall no more profane with your gifts, and with your idols.

³⁹ "A chwithau, du375? Israel, fel hyn y dywed yr Arglwydd DDUW: Aed pob un ohonoch i addoli ei eilunod. Yna byddwch yn siu373?r o wrando arnaf fi, ac ni fyddwch yn halogi fy enw sanctaidd �'ch rhoddion ac �'ch eilunod.

⁴⁰For in my holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel, says the Lord Yahweh, there shall all the house of Israel, all of them, serve me in the land: there will I accept them, and there will I require your offerings, and the first fruits of your offerings, with all your holy things.

⁴⁰ Oherwydd ar fy mynydd sanctaidd, ar fynydd uchel Israel, medd yr Arglwydd DDUW, y bydd holl du375? Israel, a phob un sydd yn y wlad, yn fy addoli, ac yno y derbyniaf hwy. Yno y ceisiaf eich aberthau a'ch offrymau gorau, ynghyd �'ch holl aberthau sanctaidd.

⁴¹As a pleasant aroma will I accept you, when I bring you out from the peoples, and gather you out of the countries in which you have been scattered; and I will be sanctified in you in the sight of the nations.

⁴¹ Fe'ch derbyniaf chwi fel arogldarth peraidd, pan ddof � chwi allan o blith y cenhedloedd, a'ch casglu o'r gwledydd lle gwasgarwyd chwi, a sancteiddiaf fy hun ynoch chwi yng ngu373?ydd y cenhedloedd.

⁴²You shall know that I am Yahweh, when I shall bring you into the land of Israel, into the country which I swore to give to your fathers.

⁴² Yna byddwch yn gwybod mai myfi yw'r ARGLWYDD, pan ddof � chwi i dir Israel, y wlad y tyngais y byddwn yn ei rhoi i'ch hynafiaid.

⁴³There you shall remember your ways, and all your doings, in which you have polluted yourselves; and you shall loathe yourselves in your own sight for all your evils that you have committed.

⁴³ Yno byddwch yn cofio eich ffyrdd, a'r holl bethau a wnaethoch i'ch halogi eich hunain, a byddwch yn eich cas�u eich hunain am yr holl ddrygioni a wnaethoch.

⁴⁴You shall know that I am Yahweh, when I have dealt with you for my name’s sake, not according to your evil ways, nor according to your corrupt doings, you house of Israel, says the Lord Yahweh.

⁴⁴ Yna byddwch yn gwybod mai myfi yw'r ARGLWYDD, pan fyddaf yn ymwneud � chwi er mwyn fy enw, ac nid yn �l eich ffyrdd drygionus a'ch gweithredoedd llygredig, O du375? Israel, medd yr Arglwydd DDUW."

⁴⁵The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

⁴⁵ Daeth gair yr ARGLWYDD ataf a dweud,

⁴⁶Son of man, set your face toward the south, and drop your word toward the south, and prophesy against the forest of the field in the South;

⁴⁶ "Fab dyn, tro dy wyneb i gyfeiriad Teman, a llefara i gyfeiriad y Negef; proffwyda yn erbyn tir coediog y Negef.

⁴⁷and tell the forest of the South, Hear the word of Yahweh: Thus says the Lord Yahweh, Behold, I will kindle a fire in you, and it shall devour every green tree in you, and every dry tree: the flaming flame shall not be quenched, and all faces from the south to the north shall be burnt thereby.

⁴⁷ Dywed wrth goedwig y de, 'Gwrando air yr ARGLWYDD. Fel hyn y dywed yr Arglwydd DDUW: Dyma fi'n cynnau t�n ynot, ac fe ysir dy holl goed, yr ir a'r crin fel ei gilydd. Ni ddiffoddir y fflam danllyd, ond fe losgir ganddi bob wyneb o'r de i'r gogledd.

⁴⁸All flesh shall see that I, Yahweh, have kindled it; it shall not be quenched.

⁴⁸ Bydd pawb yn gweld mai myfi'r ARGLWYDD a fu'n ei chynnau, ac nis diffoddir.'"

⁴⁹Then I said, Ah Lord Yahweh! they say of me, Isn’t he a speaker of parables?

⁴⁹ A dywedais, "Och! Fy Arglwydd DDUW, y maent yn dweud amdanaf, 'Onid llefaru damhegion y mae?'"
