Isaiah

42

1“Behold, my servant, whom I uphold; my chosen, in whom my soul delights— I have put my Spirit on him. He will bring justice to the nations.
1 "Dyma fy ngwas, yr wyf yn ei gynnal, f'etholedig, yr wyf yn ymhyfrydu ynddo. Rhoddais fy ysbryd ynddo, i gyhoeddi barn i'r cenhedloedd.
2He will not shout, nor raise his voice, nor cause it to be heard in the street.
2 Ni fydd yn gweiddi nac yn codi ei lais, na pheri ei glywed yn yr heol.
3He won’t break a bruised reed. He won’t quench a dimly burning wick. He will faithfully bring justice.
3 Ni fydd yn dryllio corsen ysig, nac yn diffodd llin yn mygu; bydd yn cyhoeddi barn gywir.
4He will not fail nor be discouraged, until he has set justice in the earth, and the islands will wait for his law.”
4 Ni fydd yn diffodd, ac ni chaiff ei ddryllio, nes iddo osod barn ar y ddaear; y mae'r ynysoedd yn disgwyl am ei gyfraith."
5Thus says God Yahweh, he who created the heavens and stretched them out, he who spread out the earth and that which comes out of it, he who gives breath to its people and spirit to those who walk in it.
5 Fel hyn y dywed Duw, yr ARGLWYDD, a greodd y nefoedd a'i thaenu allan, a luniodd y ddaear a'i chynnyrch, a roddodd anadl i'r bobl sydd arni, ac ysbryd i'r rhai sy'n rhodio ynddi:
6“I, Yahweh, have called you in righteousness, and will hold your hand, and will keep you, and make you a covenant for the people, as a light for the nations;
6 "Myfi yw'r ARGLWYDD; gelwais di mewn cyfiawnder, a gafael yn dy law; lluniais di a'th osod yn gyfamod pobl, yn oleuni cenhedloedd;
7to open the blind eyes, to bring the prisoners out of the dungeon, and those who sit in darkness out of the prison.
7 i agor llygaid y deillion, i arwain caethion allan o'r carchar, a'r rhai sy'n byw mewn tywyllwch o'u cell.
8“I am Yahweh. That is my name. I will not give my glory to another, nor my praise to engraved images.
8 Myfi yw'r ARGLWYDD, dyna fy enw; ni roddaf fy ngogoniant i neb arall, na'm clod i ddelwau cerfiedig.
9Behold, the former things have happened, and I declare new things. I tell you about them before they come up.”
9 Wele, y mae'r pethau cyntaf wedi digwydd, a mynegaf yn awr bethau newydd; cyn iddynt darddu 'rwy'n eu hysbysu ichwi."
10Sing to Yahweh a new song, and his praise from the end of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that is therein, the islands and their inhabitants.
10 Canwch i'r ARGLWYDD gn newydd, canwch ei glod o eithaf y ddaear; bydded i'r mr a'i gyflawnder ei ganmol, yr ynysoedd a'r rhai sy'n trigo ynddynt.
11Let the wilderness and its cities raise their voices, with the villages that Kedar inhabits. Let the inhabitants of Sela sing. Let them shout from the top of the mountains!
11 Bydded i'r diffeithwch a'i ddinasoedd godi llef, y pentrefi lle mae Cedar yn trigo; bydded i drigolion Sela ganu a bloeddio o ben y mynyddoedd.
12Let them give glory to Yahweh, and declare his praise in the islands.
12 Bydded iddynt roi clod i'r ARGLWYDD, a mynegi ei fawl yn yr ynysoedd.
13Yahweh will go out like a mighty man. He will stir up zeal like a man of war. He will raise a war cry. Yes, he will shout aloud. He will triumph over his enemies.
13 Y mae'r ARGLWYDD yn mynd allan fel arwr, fel rhyfelwr yn cyffroi mewn llid; y mae'n bloeddio, yn codi ei lais, ac yn trechu ei elynion.
14“I have been silent a long time. I have been quiet and restrained myself. Now I will cry out like a travailing woman. I will both gasp and pant.
14 "Bm dawel dros amser hir, yn ddistaw, ac yn ymatal; yn awr llefaf fel gwraig yn esgor, a gwingo a griddfan.
15I will destroy mountains and hills, and dry up all their herbs. I will make the rivers islands, and will dry up the pools.
15 Gwnaf fynyddoedd a bryniau yn ddiffaith, a pheri i'w holl lysiau gleision wywo; gwnaf afonydd yn ynysoedd, a llynnau yn sychdir.
16I will bring the blind by a way that they don’t know. I will lead them in paths that they don’t know. I will make darkness light before them, and crooked places straight. I will do these things, and I will not forsake them.
16 Yna arweiniaf y deillion ar hyd ffordd ddieithr, a'u tywys mewn llwybrau nad adnabuant; paraf i'r tywyllwch fod yn oleuni o'u blaen, ac unionaf ffyrdd troellog. Dyma a wnaf iddynt, ac ni adawaf hwy.
17“Those who trust in engraved images, who tell molten images, ‘You are our gods’ will be turned back. They will be utterly disappointed.
17 Ond cilio mewn cywilydd a wna'r rhai sy'n ymddiried mewn eilunod ac yn dweud wrth ddelwau tawdd, 'Chwi yw ein duwiau ni.'
18“Hear, you deaf, and look, you blind, that you may see.
18 "Chwi sy'n fyddar, clywch; chwi sy'n ddall, edrychwch a gwelwch.
19Who is blind, but my servant? Or who is as deaf as my messenger whom I send? Who is as blind as he who is at peace, and as blind as Yahweh’s servant?
19 'Does neb mor ddall 'm gwas, nac mor fyddar 'r negesydd a anfonaf; 'does neb mor ddall 'r un ymroddedig, mor ddall gwas yr ARGLWYDD.
20You see many things, but don’t observe. His ears are open, but he doesn’t listen.
20 Er iddo weld llawer, nid yw'n eu hystyried; er bod ei glustiau'n agored, nid yw'n gwrando."
21It pleased Yahweh, for his righteousness’ sake, to magnify the law, and make it honorable.
21 Dymunodd yr ARGLWYDD, er mwyn ei gyfiawnder, fawrhau'r gyfraith, a'i gwneud yn anrhydeddus;
22But this is a robbed and plundered people. All of them are snared in holes, and they are hidden in prisons. They have become a prey, and no one delivers; and a spoil, and no one says, ‘Restore them!’
22 ond ysbeiliwyd ac anrheithiwyd y bobl hyn; cawsant bawb eu dal mewn tyllau, a'u cuddio mewn celloedd, yn ysbail heb waredydd, yn anrhaith heb neb i ddweud, "Rho'n l."
23Who is there among you who will give ear to this? Who will listen and hear for the time to come?
23 Pwy ohonoch a all wrando ar hyn, ac ystyried a gwrando i'r diwedd?
24Who gave Jacob as plunder, and Israel to the robbers? Didn’t Yahweh, he against whom we have sinned? For they would not walk in his ways, and they disobeyed his law.
24 Pwy a wnaeth Jacob yn anrhaith, a rhoi Israel i'r ysbeilwyr? Onid yr ARGLWYDD, y pechasom yn ei erbyn? Nid oeddent am rodio yn ei ffyrdd na gwrando ar ei gyfraith;
25Therefore he poured the fierceness of his anger on him, and the strength of battle; and it set him on fire all around, but he didn’t know; and it burned him, but he didn’t take it to heart.”
25 felly tywalltodd ei lid a'i ddicter arnynt, a chynddaredd y frwydr. Caeodd y fflam amdano, ond ni ddysgodd ei wers; llosgodd, ond nid ystyriodd.
