1 Gair yr ARGLWYDD, a ddaeth at Joel fab Pethuel.
2Hear this, you elders, And listen, all you inhabitants of the land. Has this ever happened in your days, or in the days of your fathers?
2 Clywch hyn, henuriaid, gwrandewch, holl drigolion y wlad. A ddigwyddodd peth fel hyn yn eich dyddiau chwi, neu yn nyddiau eich hynafiaid?
3Tell your children about it, and have your children tell their children, and their children, another generation.
3 Dywedwch am hyn wrth eich plant, a dyweded eich plant wrth eu plant, a'u plant hwythau wrth y genhedlaeth nesaf.
4What the swarming locust has left, the great locust has eaten. What the great locust has left, the grasshopper has eaten. What the grasshopper has left, the caterpillar has eaten.
4 Yr hyn a adawodd y cyw locust, fe'i bwytaodd y locust sydd ar ei dyfiant; yr hyn a adawodd y locust ar ei dyfiant, fe'i bwytaodd y locust mawr; a'r hyn a adawodd y locust mawr, fe'i bwytaodd y locust difaol.
5Wake up, you drunkards, and weep! Wail, all you drinkers of wine, because of the sweet wine; for it is cut off from your mouth.
5 Deffrowch feddwon, ac wylwch; galarwch, bob yfwr gwin, am y gwin newydd a dorrwyd ymaith o'ch genau.
6For a nation has come up on my land, strong, and without number. His teeth are the teeth of a lion, and he has the fangs of a lioness.
6 Oherwydd daeth cenedl i oresgyn fy nhir, a honno'n un gref a dirifedi; dannedd llew yw ei dannedd, ac y mae ganddi gilddannedd llewes.
7He has laid my vine waste, and stripped my fig tree. He has stripped its bark, and thrown it away. Its branches are made white.
7 Maluriodd fy ngwinwydd, a darnio fy nghoed ffigys; rhwygodd ymaith y rhisgl yn llwyr, ac aeth y cangau'n wynion.
8Mourn like a virgin dressed in sackcloth for the husband of her youth!
8 Galara di fel gwyryf yn gwisgo sachliain am ddyweddi ei hieuenctid.
9The meal offering and the drink offering are cut off from Yahweh’s house. The priests, Yahweh’s ministers, mourn.
9 Pallodd y bwydoffrwm a'r diodoffrwm yn nhu375?'r ARGLWYDD; y mae'r offeiriaid, gweinidogion yr ARGLWYDD, yn galaru.
10The field is laid waste. The land mourns, for the grain is destroyed, The new wine has dried up, and the oil languishes.
10 Anrheithiwyd y tir, y mae'r ddaear yn galaru, oherwydd i'r grawn gael ei ddifa, ac i'r gwin ballu, ac i'r olew sychu.
11Be confounded, you farmers! Wail, you vineyard keepers; for the wheat and for the barley; for the harvest of the field has perished.
11 Safwch mewn braw, amaethwyr, galarwch, winwyddwyr, am y gwenith a'r haidd; oherwydd difawyd cynhaeaf y maes.
12The vine has dried up, and the fig tree withered; the pomegranate tree, the palm tree also, and the apple tree, even all of the trees of the field are withered; for joy has withered away from the sons of men.
12 Gwywodd y winwydden, a deifiwyd y ffigysbren. Y prennau pomgranad, y palmwydd a'r coed afalau � y mae holl brennau'r maes wedi gwywo. A diflannodd llawenydd o blith y bobl.
13Put on sackcloth and mourn, you priests! Wail, you ministers of the altar. Come, lie all night in sackcloth, you ministers of my God The Hebrew word rendered “God” is “Elohim.” , for the meal offering and the drink offering are withheld from your God’s house.
13 Gwisgwch sachliain a galaru, offeiriaid, codwch gwynfan, weinidogion yr allor. Ewch i dreulio'r nos mewn sachliain, weinidogion fy Nuw, oherwydd i'r bwydoffrwm a'r diodoffrwm gael eu hatal o du375? eich Duw.
14Sanctify a fast. Call a solemn assembly. Gather the elders, and all the inhabitants of the land, to the house of Yahweh, your God, and cry to Yahweh.
14 Cyhoeddwch ympryd, galwch gynulliad. Chwi henuriaid, cynullwch holl drigolion y wlad i du375?'r ARGLWYDD eich Duw, a llefwch ar yr ARGLWYDD.
15Alas for the day! For the day of Yahweh is at hand, and it will come as destruction from the Almighty.
15 Och y fath ddiwrnod! Oherwydd y mae dydd yr ARGLWYDD yn agos; daw fel dinistr oddi wrth yr Hollalluog.
16Isn’t the food cut off before our eyes; joy and gladness from the house of our God?
16 Oni ddiflannodd y bwyd o flaen ein llygaid, a dedwyddwch a llawenydd o du375? ein Duw?
17The seeds rot under their clods. The granaries are laid desolate. The barns are broken down, for the grain has withered.
17 Y mae'r had yn crebachu o dan y tywyrch, yr ysgubor wedi ei chwalu a'r granar yn adfeilion, am i'r grawn fethu.
18How the animals groan! The herds of livestock are perplexed, because they have no pasture. Yes, the flocks of sheep are made desolate.
18 Y fath alar gan yr anifeiliaid! Y mae'r gyrroedd gwartheg mewn dryswch am eu bod heb borfa; ac y mae'r diadelloedd defaid yn darfod.
19Yahweh, I cry to you, For the fire has devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame has burned all the trees of the field.
19 Arnat ti, ARGLWYDD, yr wyf yn llefain, oherwydd difaodd t�n borfeydd yr anialwch, a llosgodd fflam holl goed y maes.
20Yes, the animals of the field pant to you, for the water brooks have dried up, And the fire has devoured the pastures of the wilderness.
20 Y mae'r anifeiliaid gwylltion yn llefain arnat, oherwydd sychodd y nentydd a difaodd t�n borfeydd yr anialwch.
