Ruth

4

1Now Boaz went up to the gate, and sat down there. Behold, the near kinsman of whom Boaz spoke came by; to whom he said, “Come over here, friend, and sit down!” He turned aside, and sat down.
1 Aeth Boas i fyny i'r porth ac eistedd yno, a dyna'r perthynas yr oedd Boas wedi sn amdano yn dod heibio. Galwodd Boas arno wrth ei enw a dweud, "Tyrd yma ac eistedd i lawr." Aeth yntau ac eistedd.
2He took ten men of the elders of the city, and said, “Sit down here.” They sat down.
2 Yna fe ddewisodd ddeg o henuriaid y dref a dweud, "Eisteddwch yma"; ac eisteddodd y rheini.
3He said to the near kinsman, “Naomi, who has come back out of the country of Moab, is selling the parcel of land, which was our brother Elimelech’s.
3 Dywedodd wrth y perthynas, "Daeth Naomi yn l o wlad Moab ac y mae am werthu'r darn tir oedd yn perthyn i'n brawd Elimelech,
4I thought to disclose it to you, saying, ‘Buy it before those who sit here, and before the elders of my people.’ If you will redeem it, redeem it; but if you will not redeem it, then tell me, that I may know. For there is no one to redeem it besides you; and I am after you.” He said, “I will redeem it.”
4 a meddyliais y byddwn yn gadael i ti wybod; felly pryn ef yng ngu373?ydd henuriaid fy mhobl, sy'n eistedd yma. Os wyt ti am ei brynu'n l, gwna hynny; ond os nad wyt am ei brynu, dywed wrthyf, imi gael gwybod; oherwydd gennyt ti y mae'r hawl i'w brynu, a chennyf finnau wedyn." Dywedodd yntau, "Fe'i prynaf."
5Then Boaz said, “On the day you buy the field from the hand of Naomi, you must buy it also from Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of the dead, to raise up the name of the dead on his inheritance.”
5 Yna meddai Boas, "Y diwrnod y pryni di'r tir gan Naomi, yr wyt hefyd yn cymryd Ruth y Foabes, gwraig gu373?r a fu farw, i gadw enw'r marw ar ei etifeddiaeth."
6The near kinsman said, “I can’t redeem it for myself, lest I mar my own inheritance. Take my right of redemption for yourself; for I can’t redeem it.”
6 Atebodd y perthynas, "Ni fedraf ei brynu heb ddifetha f'etifeddiaeth fy hun. Pryn di ef, oherwydd ni allaf fi."
7Now this was the custom in former time in Israel concerning redeeming and concerning exchanging, to confirm all things: a man took off his shoe, and gave it to his neighbor; and this was the way of attestation in Israel.
7 Erstalwm dyma fyddai'r arfer yn Israel wrth brynu'n l a throsglwyddo eiddo: er mwyn cadarnhau unrhyw gytundeb byddai'r naill yn tynnu ei esgid ac yn ei rhoi i'r llall. Dyna oedd dull ardystio yn Israel.
8So the near kinsman said to Boaz, “Buy it for yourself.” He took off his shoe.
8 Felly, pan ddywedodd y perthynas wrth Boas, "Pryn ef i ti dy hun", fe dynnodd ei esgid.
9Boaz said to the elders, and to all the people, “You are witnesses this day, that I have bought all that was Elimelech’s, and all that was Chilion’s and Mahlon’s, from the hand of Naomi.
9 A dywedodd Boas wrth yr henuriaid a'r bobl i gyd, "Yr ydych chwi yn dystion fy mod i heddiw wedi prynu holl eiddo Elimelech a holl eiddo Chilion a Mahlon o law Naomi.
10Moreover Ruth the Moabitess, the wife of Mahlon, I have purchased to be my wife, to raise up the name of the dead on his inheritance, that the name of the dead not be cut off from among his brothers, and from the gate of his place. You are witnesses this day.”
10 Yr wyf hefyd wedi prynu Ruth y Foabes, gweddw Mahlon, yn wraig imi i gadw enw'r marw ar ei etifeddiaeth, rhag i'w enw gael ei ddiddymu o fysg ei dylwyth ac o'i fro. Yr ydych chwi heddiw yn dystion o hyn."
11All the people who were in the gate, and the elders, said, “We are witnesses. May Yahweh make the woman who has come into your house like Rachel and like Leah, which two built the house of Israel; and treat you worthily in Ephrathah, and be famous in Bethlehem.
11 Dywedodd pawb oedd yn y porth, a'r henuriaid hefyd, "Yr ydym yn dystion; bydded i'r ARGLWYDD beri i'r wraig sy'n dod i'th du375? fod fel Rachel a Lea, y ddwy a gododd du375? Israel; bydded iti lwyddo yn Effrata, ac ennill enw ym Methlehem.
12Let your house be like the house of Perez, whom Tamar bore to Judah, of the seed which Yahweh shall give you of this young woman.”
12 Trwy'r plant y bydd yr ARGLWYDD yn eu rhoi i ti o'r eneth hon, bydded dy deulu fel teulu Peres a ddygodd Tamar i Jwda."
13So Boaz took Ruth, and she became his wife; and he went in to her, and Yahweh gave her conception, and she bore a son.
13 Wedi i Boas gymryd Ruth yn wraig iddo, aeth i mewn ati a pharodd yr ARGLWYDD iddi feichiogi, ac esgorodd ar fab.
14The women said to Naomi, “Blessed be Yahweh, who has not left you this day without a near kinsman; and let his name be famous in Israel.
14 Ac meddai'r gwragedd wrth Naomi, "Bendigedig fyddo'r ARGLWYDD am iddo beidio 'th adael heddiw heb berthynas; bydded ef yn enwog yn Israel.
15He shall be to you a restorer of life, and sustain you in your old age, for your daughter-in-law, who loves you, who is better to you than seven sons, has borne him.”
15 Bydd ef yn adnewyddu dy fywyd ac yn dy gynnal yn dy henaint, oherwydd dy ferch-yng-nghyfraith, sy'n dy garu, yw ei fam; ac y mae hi'n well na saith o feibion i ti."
16Naomi took the child, and laid it in her bosom, and became nurse to it.
16 Cymerodd Naomi y bachgen a'i ddodi yn ei chl a'i fagu.
17The women, her neighbors, gave him a name, saying, “There is a son born to Naomi”; and they named him Obed. He is the father of Jesse, the father of David.
17 Rhoddodd y cymdogesau enw iddo a dweud, "Ganwyd mab i Naomi." Galwasant ef Obed; ef oedd tad Jesse, tad Dafydd.
18Now this is the history of the generations of Perez: Perez became the father of Hezron,
18 Dyma achau Peres: Peres oedd tad Hesron,
19and Hezron became the father of Ram, and Ram became the father of Amminadab,
19 Hesron oedd tad Ram, Ram oedd tad Amminadab,
20and Amminadab became the father of Nahshon, and Nahshon became the father of Salmon,
20 Amminadab oedd tad Nahson, Nahson oedd tad Salmon,
21and Salmon became the father of Boaz, and Boaz became the father of Obed,
21 Salmon oedd tad Boas, Boas oedd tad Obed,
22and Obed became the father of Jesse, and Jesse became the father of David.
22 Obed oedd tad Jesse, a Jesse oedd tad Dafydd.
