1After this it happened, that David struck the Philistines, and subdued them, and took Gath and its towns out of the hand of the Philistines.
1بعد از مدتی داود بر فلسطینی ها حمله کرد و آن ها را شکست داد. شهر جَت و دهات اطراف آنرا متصرف شد.
2He struck Moab; and the Moabites became servants to David, and brought tribute.
2پسانتر موآبیان را شکست داده آن ها تابع او شدند و به او جزیه می دادند.
3David struck Hadadezer king of Zobah to Hamath, as he went to establish his dominion by the river Euphrates.
3داود همچنان هَدَدعَزَر، پادشاه صوبه را که می خواست ساحۀ سواحل دریای فرات را اشغال کند، در سرحد حَمات شکست داد
4David took from him one thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen; and David hamstrung all the chariot horses, but reserved of them for one hundred chariots.
4و یکهزار عراده، هفت هزار سوار و بیست هزار پیادۀ او را به دست آورد. از جملۀ تمام اسپها صد رأس آن ها را برای خود نگهداشت و پاهای سایر اسپها را قطع کرد.
5When the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadadezer king of Zobah, David struck of the Syrians twenty-two thousand men.
5وقتی ارامیان دمشق به کمک هَدَدعَزَر، پادشاه صوبه آمدند، داود بیست و دو هزار از ارامیان را بقتل رساند.
6Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus; and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought tribute. Yahweh gave victory to David wherever he went.
6بعد داود یک عده از عساکر خود را در ارام دمشق برای کنترول شهر گماشت. و ارامیان هم تابع داود شدند و به او جزیه می دادند. به این ترتیب، بهر جائیکه داود می رفت، خداوند پیروزی را نصیب او می کرد.
7David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.
7سپرهای طلائی را که از عساکر ارامیان گرفته بود همه را به اورشلیم برد.
8From Tibhath and from Cun, cities of Hadadezer, David took very much brass, with which Solomon made the bronze sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of brass.
8از طِبحَت و کُن، دو شهر هَدَدعَزَر، یک مقدار زیاد فلز برنجی به دست آورد و سلیمان از آن حوض بزرگ، ستونها و ظروف برنجی برای عبادتگاه ساخت.
9When Tou king of Hamath heard that David had struck all the army of Hadadezer king of Zobah,
9چون توعو، پادشاه حَمات خبر شد که داود تمام لشکر هَدَدعَزَر، پادشاه صوبه را شکست داده است،
10he sent Hadoram his son to king David, to Greet him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer and struck him; (for Hadadezer had wars with Tou;) and he had with him all kinds of vessels of gold and silver and brass.
10پسر خود، هدورام را پیش داود فرستاد تا بخاطر پیروزی او بر هَدَدعَزَر تهنیت و سلام گوید، زیرا هَدَدعَزَر همیشه با توعو در جنگ بود. او همچنان هر قسم اشیای طلائی، نقره ای و برنجی را بعنوان تحفه برایش فرستاد.
11King David also dedicated these to Yahweh, with the silver and the gold that he carried away from all the nations; from Edom, and from Moab, and from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek.
11داود آن ها را هم با تمام نقره و طلائیکه از مردم دیگر، یعنی ادومیان، موآبیان، عمونیان و فلسطینی ها به دست آورده بود، وقف خداوند کرد.
12Moreover Abishai the son of Zeruiah struck of the Edomites in the Valley of Salt eighteen thousand.
12ابیشای، پسر زِرویه، هجده هزار از ادومیان را در وادی نمک بقتل رساند،
13He put garrisons in Edom; and all the Edomites became servants to David. Yahweh gave victory to David wherever he went.
13و برای کنترول ادوم یک عده از سپاهیان را گماشت و تمام ادومیان تابع داود شدند و بهر جائیکه پای داود می رسید، خداوند او را پیروز می کرد.
14David reigned over all Israel; and he executed justice and righteousness to all his people.
14به این ترتیب، داود حکمفرمای تمام قلمرو اسرائیل شد و با عدالت و انصاف بر مردم حکومت می کرد.
15Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the army; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder;
15یوآب، پسر زِرویه قوماندان عمومی لشکر داود بود. یَهُوشافاط، پسر اخیلود خبرنگار،
16and Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Abimelech the son of Abiathar, were priests; and Shavsha was scribe;
16صادوق، پسر اَخِیطُوب و اَبیمَلِک، پسر ابیاتار، کاهنان، شوشا منشی،بنایا، پسر یَهویاداع فرمانده گارد شاهی ـ کَریتیان و فلیتیان ـ و پسران داود معاونین اول او بودند.
17and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David were chief about the king.
17بنایا، پسر یَهویاداع فرمانده گارد شاهی ـ کَریتیان و فلیتیان ـ و پسران داود معاونین اول او بودند.
