¹Moreover, brothers, we make known to you the grace of God which has been given in the assemblies of Macedonia;

¹ای برادران، می خواهم از آنچه فیض خدا در کلیساهای مقدونیه کرده است، آگاه شوید.

²how that in much proof of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded to the riches of their liberality.

²آن ها با زحماتی که دیده اند سخت آزموده شده اند و با وجود این که بسیار فقیر بودند، از خوشی فراوان پُر شده اند و نتیجۀ این خوشی بخشش و سخاوتمندی بی اندازۀ آن ها بود.

³For according to their power, I testify, yes and beyond their power, they gave of their own accord,

³من، خود شاهد هستم که آن ها به اندازۀ توانائی خود و حتی بیشتر از آن با علاقه به دیگران کمک کردند.

⁴begging us with much entreaty to receive this grace and the fellowship in the service to the saints.

⁴و با اصرار زیاد از ما خواهش کردند که در افتخار رفع نیازمندی های مقدسین شریک شوند.

⁵This was not as we had hoped, but first they gave their own selves to the Lord, and to us through the will of God.

⁵این کار ایشان بیش از توقع ما بود، زیرا اول خود را به خداوند تسلیم کردند و بعد مطابق ارادۀ خدا، خود را در اختیار ما گذاشتند.

⁶So we urged Titus, that as he made a beginning before, so he would also complete in you this grace.

⁶پس ما از تیطُس که این کار را در میان شما شروع کرده بود، خواستیم که آن را به اتمام برساند.

⁷But as you abound in everything, in faith, utterance, knowledge, all earnestness, and in your love to us, see that you also abound in this grace.

⁷از این گذشته، چنانکه شما در هر امر دیگری از قبیل ایمان، سخندانی، درک حقیقت، جدیت و محبت نسبت به ما غنی هستید، می خواهیم که در این امر خیر هم غنی باشید.

⁸I speak not by way of commandment, but as proving through the earnestness of others the sincerity also of your love.

⁸این را به عنوان یک فرمان به شما نمی گویم بلکه می خواهم با اشاره به جدیت دیگران محبت شما را بیازمایم.

⁹For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that you through his poverty might become rich.

⁹شما می دانید که عیسی مسیح، خداوند ما چقدر بخشنده بود. گرچه دولتمند بود، بخاطر شما خود را فقیر ساخت تا شما از راه فقر او دولتمند شوید.

¹⁰I give a judgment in this: for this is expedient for you, who were the first to start a year ago, not only to do, but also to be willing.

¹⁰در این مورد نظر خود را ابراز می کنم: چون شما اولین کسانی بودید که در یک سال پیش نه تنها علاقمند و راغب به کمک دیگران بودید بلکه عملاً این کار را کردید، اکنون به صلاح شماست که به این کار ادامه دهید و تمام کنید.

¹¹But now complete the doing also, that as there was the readiness to be willing, so there may be the completion also out of your ability.

¹¹آن زمان بسیار می خواستید که این کار را انجام دهید و اکنون مطابق علاقۀ خود، با میل این کار را به اتمام برسانید.

¹²For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according to what you have, not according to what you don’t have.

¹²اگر کسی واقعاً می خواهد کمک کند، خدا هدیۀ او را نسبت به آنچه دارد می پذیرد، نه مطابق آنچه ندارد.

¹³For this is not that others may be eased and you distressed,

¹³مقصودم این نیست که دیگران از زیر بار، شانه خالی کنند و شما بار ایشان را بدوش بگیرید. نخیر! بلکه می خواهم این یک عمل متقابل باشد. یعنی آنچه را که شما فعلاً به آن نیازی ندارید، برای رفع نیازمندی های آن ها بدهید

¹⁴but for equality. Your abundance at this present time supplies their lack, that their abundance also may become a supply for your lack; that there may be equality.

¹⁴تا روزی مازاد ایشان هم نیازمندی های شما را رفع نماید و به این وسیله مساوات برقرار می شود.

¹⁵As it is written, “He who gathered much had nothing left over, and he who gathered little had no lack.” Exodus 16:8

¹⁵چنانکه نوشته شده است: «او که زیاد جمع کرد زیادی نداشت، و آنکه اندک اندوخت کم نداشت.»

¹⁶But thanks be to God, who puts the same earnest care for you into the heart of Titus.

¹⁶خدا را شکر که او شوقی مانند آنچه من نسبت به شما دارم در دل تیطُس ایجاد کرده است.

¹⁷For he indeed accepted our exhortation, but being himself very earnest, he went out to you of his own accord.

¹⁷او نه تنها درخواست ما را قبول کرد؛ بلکه با شوق و ذوق و از روی علاقۀ خود می خواست پیش شما بیاید.

¹⁸We have sent together with him the brother whose praise in the Good News is known through all the assemblies.

¹⁸همراه او آن برادری را که در تمام کلیساها به خاطر بشارت دادن انجیل شهرت یافته است، می فرستم.

¹⁹Not only so, but who was also appointed by the assemblies to travel with us in this grace, which is served by us to the glory of the Lord himself, and to show our readiness.

¹⁹علاوه بر این، او از طرف کلیساها مقرر شده است که همراه ما باشد و این کار خیریه را برای جلال خدا و به نشانۀ حُسن نیت ما انجام دهید.

²⁰We are avoiding this, that any man should blame us concerning this abundance which is administered by us.

²⁰ما با نظارت بر امر جمع آوری و توزیع بخشش های سخاوتمندانۀ شما بسیار مراقب هستیم، مبادا کسی بر ما انتقاد کند.

²¹Having regard for honorable things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.

²¹بلی، می کوشیم نه فقط آنچه را که در نظر خداوند درست است انجام دهیم، بلکه آنچه را که مردم نیز می پسندند به عمل آوریم.

²²We have sent with them our brother, whom we have many times proved earnest in many things, but now much more earnest, by reason of the great confidence which he has in you.

²²برادر خود را که بارها او را آزموده و همیشه او را جدی یافته ام با آنها می فرستم. او اکنون به سبب اطمینان بزرگی که به شما دارد بیش از پیش شوق دیدن شما را دارد.

²³As for Titus, he is my partner and fellow worker for you. As for our brothers, they are the apostles of the assemblies, the glory of Christ.

²³و اما تیطُس، او در خدمت شما، یار و همکار من است و برادران دیگر هم که با او می آیند نمایندگان کلیساها و مایۀ جلال مسیح هستند.بنابراین محبت خود را به ایشان و در ضمن به تمام کلیساها نشان دهید، تا همه بدانند تعریفی که من از شما کرده ام، بی اساس نبوده است.

²⁴Therefore show the proof of your love to them in front of the assemblies, and of our boasting on your behalf.
