1After this it happened that David struck the Philistines, and subdued them: and David took the bridle of the mother city out of the hand of the Philistines.
1پس از چندی باز داود به فلسطینی ها حمله کرد و آن ها را شکست داده و قدرت آن ها را از آن سرزمین محو و نابود کرد.
2He struck Moab, and measured them with the line, making them to lie down on the ground; and he measured two lines to put to death, and one full line to keep alive. The Moabites became servants to David, and brought tribute.
2مردم موآب را هم مغلوب نمود و به آن ها امر کرد که بروی زمین پهلو به پهلو در یک قطار بخوابند. بعد با یک فیتۀ اندازه گیری آن ها را سه تقسیم کرد. دو حصۀ آن ها را کشت و یک حصۀ شانرا زنده نگهداشت که برای او خدمت کنند و هر ساله جزیه بدهند.
3David struck also Hadadezer the son of Rehob, king of Zobah, as he went to recover his dominion at the River.
3داود همچنان پادشاه صوبه، هدد عزر پسر رِحوب را در جنگ کنار دریای فرات مغلوب کرد. زیرا هدد عزر برای به دست آوردن قدرت از دست رفتۀ خود به آنجا آمده بود.
4David took from him one thousand seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: and David hamstrung all the chariot horses, but reserved of them for one hundred chariots.
4داود یکهزار و هفتصد سوار و بیست هزار نفر پیادۀ او را اسیر گرفت. بعد پاهای همه اسپان عراده جات او را قطع کرد و از آن جمله فقط یکصد اسپ او را برای استفادۀ خود نگهداشت.
5When the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadadezer king of Zobah, David struck of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.
5وقتی آرامیان دمشق به کمک هدد عزر آمدند، داود بیست و دو هزار نفر آرامی را کشت.
6Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus; and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought tribute. Yahweh gave victory to David wherever he went.
6بعد داود چند دسته از افراد نظامی را در دمشق گماشت و آرامیان تابع داود شدند و به او جزیه می دادند. خلاصه به هر جائیکه داود می رفت، خداوند او را فاتح می ساخت.
7David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.
7سپرهای طلائی را که از عساکر هدد عزر گرفته بود، همه را به اورشلیم آورد.
8From Betah and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, king David took exceeding much brass.
8او همچنان یک مقدار زیاد فلز برنجی را از باته و بیروتای، دو شهر هدد عزر، به اورشلیم برد.
9When Toi king of Hamath heard that David had struck all the army of Hadadezer,
9وقتی توعی، پادشاه حمات شنید که داود تمام لشکر هدد عزر را شکست داد،
10then Toi sent Joram his son to king David, to Greet him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer and struck him: for Hadadezer had wars with Toi. Joram brought with him vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of brass:
10پسر خود، یُورام را بحضور داود فرستاد تا سلام او را به داود برساند و بخاطر ظفرش بر هدد عزر، به او تبریکی بدهد، زیرا هدد عزر با توعی همیشه در جنگ بود. یُورام همچنین ظروف نقره و طلا و برنجی برای داود برد.
11King David also dedicated these to Yahweh, with the silver and gold that he dedicated of all the nations which he subdued;
11داود پادشاه همه را با تمام نقره و طلائیکه از ادوم، موآب، عمون، فلسطینان، عمالَقه و هدد عزر به غنیمت گرفته بود، وقف خداوند کرد.
12of Syria, and of Moab, and of the children of Ammon, and of the Philistines, and of Amalek, and of the spoil of Hadadezer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah.
12نام داود بسیار مشهور شد، در بازگشت خود هجده هزار از ادومیان را در وادی نمک از بین برد.
13David earned a reputation when he returned from smiting the Syrians in the Valley of Salt, even eighteen thousand men.
13در سراسر ادوم عساکر خود را فرستاد و همۀ آن ها را تابع خود ساخت. به هر جائیکه داود می رفت خداوند او را فاتح می ساخت.
14He put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom put he garrisons, and all the Edomites became servants to David. Yahweh gave victory to David wherever he went.
14به این ترتیب، داود با عدل و انصاف بر اسرائیل حکومت می کرد.
15David reigned over all Israel; and David executed justice and righteousness to all his people.
15سپهسالار لشکر او یوآب پسر زِرویه و یهوشافاط، پسر اخیلود وزیر اطلاعات او بود.
16Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the army; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder;
16صادوق، پسر اَخِیطُوب و اَخِیمَلَک، پسر ابیاتار کاهن بودند و سَرایا به حیث منشی او اجرای وظیفه می کرد.بنایاهو، پسر یَهویاداع، آمر گارد محافظ و پسران داود معاونین او بودند.
17and Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, were priests; and Seraiah was scribe;
17بنایاهو، پسر یَهویاداع، آمر گارد محافظ و پسران داود معاونین او بودند.
18and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and David’s sons were chief ministers.
