1Now this is the commandment, the statutes, and the ordinances, which Yahweh your God commanded to teach you, that you might do them in the land where you go over to possess it;
1خداوند، خدای شما به من فرمود که اوامر، فرایض و احکام او را به شما تعلیم بدهم تا آن ها را در آن سرزمینی که داخل می شوید، بجا آورید
2that you might fear Yahweh your God, to keep all his statutes and his commandments, which I command you, you, and your son, and your son’s son, all the days of your life; and that your days may be prolonged.
2و به این ترتیب، شما، اطفال و نواسه های تان تا که زنده هستید، از خداوند، خدای خود بترسید، احکام و اوامر او را بجا آورید و عمر طولانی داشته باشید.
3Hear therefore, Israel, and observe to do it; that it may be well with you, and that you may increase mightily, as Yahweh, the God of your fathers, has promised to you, in a land flowing with milk and honey.
3پس ای قوم اسرائیل، به احکام او بدقت گوش داده از آن ها پیروی کنید تا در زندگی خیر و برکت ببینید و در سرزمینی که در آن شیر و عسل جاری است، قرار وعدۀ خداوند به پدران تان، قوم بزرگی شوید.
4Hear, Israel: Yahweh is our God; Yahweh is one:
4ای اسرائیل، بشنو: خداوند، خدای ما خداوند یکتا و یگانه است.
5and you shall love Yahweh your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might.
5خداوند، خدای خود را با تمامی دل و تمامی جان و تمامی قوّت خود دوست بدار.
6These words, which I command you this day, shall be on your heart;
6این سخنانی را که امروز به تو ابلاغ می کنم، در دل خود نگاهدار.
7and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up.
7به فرزندان خود تعلیم بده و خواه در خانه باشی خواه در بیرون، خواه در حال استراحت باشی خواه بیدار، همیشه دربارۀ آن ها صحبت کن.
8You shall bind them for a sign on your hand, and they shall be for symbols between your eyes.
8آن ها را مثل شعاری بر دست و پیشانی خود ببند
9You shall write them on the door posts of your house, and on your gates.
9و بر سر در و دروازۀ خانۀ خود بنویس.
10It shall be, when Yahweh your God shall bring you into the land which he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give you, great and goodly cities, which you didn’t build,
10وقتی که خداوند، خدای تان شما را به سرزمینی که وعدۀ مالکیت آن را به اجداد تان، ابراهیم، اسحاق و یعقوب داده است برساند، یعنی به شهرهای بزرگی که خود شما نساخته اید،
11and houses full of all good things, which you didn’t fill, and cisterns dug out, which you didn’t dig, vineyards and olive trees, which you didn’t plant, and you shall eat and be full;
11به خانه های پُر از هر نوع مال که شما تهیه نکرده اید، به چاههای حُفر شده ای که شما نکنده اید، به تاکستانها و باغهای زیتون که شما غرس نکرده اید دست یابید، بخورید و سیر شوید،
12then beware lest you forget Yahweh, who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
12احتیاط کنید خداوند را که شما را از مصر که در آنجا اسیر بودید بیرون آورد، از یاد نبرید.
13You shall fear Yahweh your God; and you shall serve him, and shall swear by his name.
13به خداوند، خدای تان احترام نمائید، بندگی او را بکنید و فقط بنام او قسم بخورید.
14You shall not go after other gods, of the gods of the peoples who are around you;
14از پیروی خدایان غیر و خدایان مردمی که در اطراف تان هستند، بپرهیزید،
15for Yahweh your God in the midst of you is a jealous God; lest the anger of Yahweh your God be kindled against you, and he destroy you from off the face of the earth.
15زیرا خداوند، خدای تان که در بین شما حضور دارد، خدای غیور و حسود است، مبادا آتش خشم او در برابر شما افروخته شود و شما را از روی زمین محو کند.
16You shall not tempt Yahweh your God, as you tempted him in Massah.
16خداوند، خدای خود را میازمائید، چنانچه در مسا او را آزمودید.
17You shall diligently keep the commandments of Yahweh your God, and his testimonies, and his statutes, which he has commanded you.
17بنابران، بدقت از هر امر خداوند، خدای خود پیروی کنید و احکام و فرایض او را که به شما داده است بجا آورید.
18You shall do that which is right and good in the sight of Yahweh; that it may be well with you, and that you may go in and possess the good land which Yahweh swore to your fathers,
18آنچه را که نیک و در نظر خداوند پسندیده است اجراء کنید تا زندگی خوب و آسوده داشته باشید و به سرزمین خوبی که خداوند به اجداد تان وعده داده است بروید. آن را به دست آورید
19to thrust out all your enemies from before you, as Yahweh has spoken.
19و تمام دشمنان تان، قراریکه خداوند وعده فرموده است، از سر راه تان بیرون رانده شوند.
20When your son asks you in time to come, saying, “What do the testimonies, the statutes, and the ordinances, which Yahweh our God has commanded you mean?”
20در آینده وقتی فرزندان تان از شما بپرسند: «معنی قوانین، احکام و فرایض خداوند، خدای ما که به شما داده است چیست؟»
21then you shall tell your son, “We were Pharaoh’s bondservants in Egypt: and Yahweh brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand;
21به آن ها بگوئید: «ما در مصر غلام فرعون بودیم، اما خداوند با دست توانای خود ما را از مصر بیرون آورد.
22and Yahweh showed great and awesome signs and wonders on Egypt, on Pharaoh, and on all his house, before our eyes;
22خداوند بعد از آنکه معجزات عظیم و وحشتناکی در برابر چشمان مردم مصر و فرعون و خاندان او اجراء کرد،
23and he brought us out from there, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he swore to our fathers.
23ما را از آنجا بیرون آورد تا به سرزمینی که قسم خورده به ما می دهد، برساند.
24Yahweh commanded us to do all these statutes, to fear Yahweh our God, for our good always, that he might preserve us alive, as at this day.
24سپس خداوند به ما امر فرمود که احکام او را بجا آوریم و از خداوند، خدای خود بترسیم تا مثلیکه امروز می بینید، زندگی طولانی و پُر برکت داشته باشیم.اگر ما تمام احکامی را که خداوند، خدای ما به ما امر فرموده است بدقت و با اطاعت کامل بجا آوریم، او از ما راضی می شود.»
25It shall be righteousness to us, if we observe to do all this commandment before Yahweh our God, as he has commanded us.”
