¹“If a man steals an ox or a sheep, and kills it, or sells it; he shall pay five oxen for an ox, and four sheep for a sheep.

¹«اگر کسی گاو یا گوسفندی را بدزد و آن را بکشد یا بفروشد، باید در عوض هر گاو، پنج گاو و در عوض هر گوسفند، چهار گوسفند بدهد.

²If the thief is found breaking in, and is struck so that he dies, there shall be no guilt of bloodshed for him.

²او باید هر چه دزدیده قیمت آن را بپردازد. اگر از عهدۀ پرداخت کامل قیمت آن برنیاید، به غلامی فروخته شود پول آن را بعوض آنچه که دزدیده است بپردازند. اگر دزد با گاو، گوسفند یا الاغ زنده، دستگیر شود، باید دو برابر قیمت حیوانی را که دزدیده است بپردازد. اگر دزد به هنگام شب در حین عمل سرقت بقتل برسد، کسی که او را کشته است، مجرم شناخته نمی شود، اما اگر قتل در روز صورت بگیرد، قاتل مجرم می باشد.

³If the sun has risen on him, guilt of bloodshed shall be for him; he shall make restitution. If he has nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft.

³اگر کسی حیوانات خود را قصداً در مزرعه یا تاکستان شخص دیگری رها کند یا آن ها را در مزرعۀ شخص دیگری بچراند، باید از بهترین محصول تاکستان یا مزرعه خود تاوان بدهد.

⁴If the stolen property is found in his hand alive, whether it is ox, donkey, or sheep, he shall pay double.

⁴اگر کسی در مزرعۀ خود آتش بیفروزد و آتش به مزرعۀ شخص دیگری سرایت کند و خوشه های رسیده و یا محصول دَرَو نشدۀ او را بسوزاند، آن کسی که آتش افروخته است باید خسارات وارده را جبران کند.

⁵“If a man causes a field or vineyard to be eaten, and lets his animal loose, and it grazes in another man’s field, he shall make restitution from the best of his own field, and from the best of his own vineyard.

⁵اگر کسی پول و یا اموال قیمتی خود را پیش کسی به امانت بسپارد و اشیای امانت از خانۀ آن شخص دزدیده شود و اگر دزد دستگیر گردد، دزد باید دو برابر آنچه را که سرقت کرده است، پس بدهد.

⁶“If fire breaks out, and catches in thorns so that the shocks of grain, or the standing grain, or the field are consumed; he who kindled the fire shall surely make restitution.

⁶اما اگر دزد دستگیر نشود، آنگاه شخص امانت دار باید به عبادتگاه برود و در آنجا قسم بخورد که در امانت خیانت نکرده است.

⁷“If a man delivers to his neighbor money or stuff to keep, and it is stolen out of the man’s house; if the thief is found, he shall pay double.

⁷اگر گاو، الاغ، گوسفند، لباس یا هر چیز دیگری گم شود و صاحب مال گمشده ادعا کند که مال او پیش فلان شخص است، ولی آن شخص انکار کند، هر دوی آن ها به عبادتگاه برده شوند و کسی که خدا او را مقصر بشناسد، دو برابر مال مسروقه تاوان دهد.

⁸If the thief isn’t found, then the master of the house shall come near to God, to find out if he hasn’t put his hand to his neighbor’s goods.

⁸اگر کسی الاغ، گاو، گوسفند یا هر حیوان دیگری را از همسایه خود امانت بگیرد و آن حیوان بمیرد یا صدمه ببیند و یا دزدیده شود و شاهدی هم در بین نباشد،

⁹For every matter of trespass, whether it be for ox, for donkey, for sheep, for clothing, or for any kind of lost thing, about which one says, ‘This is mine,’ the cause of both parties shall come before God. He whom God condemns shall pay double to his neighbor.

⁹آن شخص باید به عبادتگاه برود و قسم بخورد که اموال همسایه خود را دزدی نکرده است. در این صورت مالک حیوان قسم او را قبول کند و تاوان نگیرد.

¹⁰“If a man delivers to his neighbor a donkey, an ox, a sheep, or any animal to keep, and it dies or is injured, or driven away, no man seeing it;

¹⁰اما اگر مال دزدیده شده باشد، باید تاوان آن را به صاحبش بدهد.

¹¹the oath of Yahweh shall be between them both, whether he hasn’t put his hand to his neighbor’s goods; and its owner shall accept it, and he shall not make restitution.

¹¹اگر توسط حیوان وحشی کشته شده باشد، شخص امانت دار لاشه اش را برای ثبوت نزد صاحبش بیاورد و لازم نیست که تاوان بدهد.

¹²But if it is stolen from him, he shall make restitution to its owner.

¹²اگر کسی حیوانی را از همسایه خود قرض بگیرد و آن حیوان صدمه ببیند یا کشته شود و صاحبش در آنجا حضور نداشته باشد، تاوان آن را بپردازد.

¹³If it is torn in pieces, let him bring it for evidence. He shall not make good that which was torn.

¹³ولی هرگاه صاحبش در آنجا حاضر بوده باشد، لازم نیست که تاوان بدهد. اگر حیوان را کرایه کرده باشد، کرایه ای که داده است به عوض تاوان آن می باشد.»

¹⁴“If a man borrows anything of his neighbor’s, and it is injured, or dies, its owner not being with it, he shall surely make restitution.

¹⁴«اگر مردی دختری را که هنوز نامزد او نشده است اغوا نماید، او باید مَهر آن دختر را بپردازد و با او ازدواج کند.

¹⁵If its owner is with it, he shall not make it good. If it is a leased thing, it came for its lease.

¹⁵اگر پدر دختر با این وصلت راضی نباشد، آن مرد باید مَهری را که برای یک دختر باکره تعیین شده به او بپردازد.

¹⁶“If a man entices a virgin who isn’t pledged to be married, and lies with her, he shall surely pay a dowry for her to be his wife.

¹⁶زن جادوگر باید کشته شود.

¹⁷If her father utterly refuses to give her to him, he shall pay money according to the dowry of virgins.

¹⁷هر کس که با حیوانی جماع کند سزایش مرگ است.

¹⁸“You shall not allow a sorceress to live.

¹⁸هر کسی که برای خدای دیگری بغیر از من که خداوند هستم، قربانی کند، باید کشته شود.

¹⁹“Whoever has sex with an animal shall surely be put to death.

¹⁹به شخص بیگانه بدرفتاری و ظلم نکنید. بخاطر داشته باشید که شما هم در سرزمین مصر بیگانه بودید.

²⁰“He who sacrifices to any god, except to Yahweh only, shall be utterly destroyed.

²⁰بر بیوه زن و یتیم ستم روا ندارید.

²¹“You shall not wrong an alien, neither shall you oppress him, for you were aliens in the land of Egypt.

²¹اگر بر آن ها ستم کنید و آن ها نزد من برای کمک فریاد برآورند، من به فریاد شان می رسم

²²“You shall not take advantage of any widow or fatherless child.

²²و بر شما خشمگین شده شما را با شمشیر دشمن هلاک می کنم تا زنان شما بیوه و فرزندان تان یتیم گردند.

²³If you take advantage of them at all, and they cry at all to me, I will surely hear their cry;

²³اگر به یکی از افراد فقیر قوم برگزیدۀ من، پول قرض می دهی، مثل سودخواران از او سود نگیر.

²⁴and my wrath will grow hot, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.

²⁴اگر لباس همسایۀ خود را گرو می گیری، قبل از غروب آفتاب آن را به او پس بده.

²⁵“If you lend money to any of my people with you who is poor, you shall not be to him as a creditor; neither shall you charge him interest.

²⁵چون ممکن است تنها لباس خواب او و وسیله ای برای گرم کردنش باشد، و اگر او نزد من دعا و زاری کند، دعای او را مستجاب می کنم، زیرا من خدای کریم و رحیم هستم.

²⁶If you take your neighbor’s garment as collateral, you shall restore it to him before the sun goes down,

²⁶به خدا ناسزا نگو و رهبر قومت را لعنت نکن.

²⁷for that is his only covering, it is his garment for his skin. What would he sleep in? It will happen, when he cries to me, that I will hear, for I am gracious.

²⁷میوۀ نو محصول و شیره انگور را به وقتش برای من بیاور. پسر اولباریت را برای من وقف کن.

²⁸“You shall not blaspheme God, nor curse a ruler of your people.

²⁸اولباری های گاو و گوسفند خود را به من بده و اولباری نر باید مدت هفت روز نزد مادرش باشد و در روز هشتم آن را به من تقدیم کن.شما قوم مقدس من هستید، پس گوشت حیوانی را که توسط جانور وحشی دریده شده باشد، نخورید. آن را پیش سگها بیندازید.»

²⁹“You shall not delay to offer from your harvest and from the outflow of your presses. “You shall give the firstborn of your sons to me.

²⁹شما قوم مقدس من هستید، پس گوشت حیوانی را که توسط جانور وحشی دریده شده باشد، نخورید. آن را پیش سگها بیندازید.»

³⁰You shall do likewise with your cattle and with your sheep. Seven days it shall be with its mother, then on the eighth day you shall give it to me.

³¹“You shall be holy men to me, therefore you shall not eat any flesh that is torn by animals in the field. You shall cast it to the dogs.
