1The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,
1کلام خداوند بر من نازل شد:
2Son of man, what is the vine tree more than any tree, the vine-branch which is among the trees of the forest?
2«ای انسان خاکی، تاک از سایر درختان چه مزیت دارد و در مقایسه با درختان جنگل به چه کار می آید؟
3Shall wood be taken of it to make any work? or will men take a pin of it to hang any vessel thereon?
3آیا از چوب آن چیزی ساخته می شود؟ آیا می توان از آن میخی برای آویختن چیزی ساخت؟
4Behold, it is cast into the fire for fuel; the fire has devoured both its ends, and its midst is burned: is it profitable for any work?
4بلی، از آن می توان تنها مثل هیزم برای افروختن آتش کار گرفت. وقتی هر دو سرش بسوزد و مابینش نیم سوخته بماند، دیگر به چه درد می خورد؟
5Behold, when it was whole, it was meet for no work: how much less, when the fire has devoured it, and it is burned, shall it yet be meet for any work!
5در حالیکه پیش از سوختنش فایده ای نداشت، پس در وقتی که بسوزد و نیم سوخته بماند چه فایده دارد؟»
6Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: As the vine tree among the trees of the forest, which I have given to the fire for fuel, so will I give the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
6خداوند متعال می فرماید: «مثل چوب تاک که آن را از بین درختان جنگل برای هیزم تعیین کرده ام، اهالی اورشلیم را هم برای مجازات انتخاب نموده ام.
7I will set my face against them; they shall go forth from the fire, but the fire shall devour them; and you shall know that I am Yahweh, when I set my face against them.
7آن ها حتماً جزا می بینند. اگر از یک آتش نجات یابند، آتش دیگری آن ها را می سوزاند. آنگاه می دانید که من خداوند هستم.چون آن ها به من وفادار نبودند، بنابران سرزمین شان را ویران می کنم.» خداوند متعال فرموده است.
8I will make the land desolate, because they have committed a trespass, says the Lord Yahweh.
