¹Again, in the ninth year, in the tenth month, in the tenth day of the month, the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

¹در روز دهمِ ماه دهمِ سالِ نهمِ تبعید ما این کلام خداوند برای من رسید و فرمود:

²Son of man, write the name of the day, even of this same day: the king of Babylon drew close to Jerusalem this same day.

²«ای انسان خاکی، تاریخ امروز را یادداشت کن، زیرا پادشاه بابل در همین روز به محاصرۀ اورشلیم شروع کرده است.

³Utter a parable to the rebellious house, and tell them, Thus says the Lord Yahweh, Set on the caldron, set it on, and also pour water into it:

³بعد این مَثَل را برای قوم سرکش اسرائیل تعریف کن که من، خداوند متعال می گویم: یک دیگ را از آب پُر کنید و بالای آتش بگذارید.

⁴gather its pieces into it, even every good piece, the thigh, and the shoulder; fill it with the choice bones.

⁴آن را با بهترین تکه های گوشت ران و شانه و خوبترین استخوانها پُر سازید.

⁵Take the choice of the flock, and also a pile of wood for the bones under the caldron; make it boil well; yes, let its bones be boiled in its midst.

⁵گوشت بهترین گوسفندان رمه را به کار برید و زیر دیگ، هیزم زیاد روشن کنید تا گوشت و استخوان هر دو جوش بخورند.»

⁶Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Woe to the bloody city, to the caldron whose rust is therein, and whose rust is not gone out of it! take out of it piece after piece; No lot is fallen on it.

⁶خداوند متعال چنین می فرماید: «وای بر تو ای شهر خون آشام، تو مثل دیگ زنگزده ای هستی که زنگش هرگز پاک نمی شود. گوشت را تکه تکه از آن بیرون می کنند و چیزی در آن باقی نمی ماند.

⁷For her blood is in the midst of her; she set it on the bare rock; she didn’t pour it on the ground, to cover it with dust.

⁷در همه جا قتل و خونریزی است، اما خون را بر زمین نمی ریزند تا مبادا خاک آن را بپوشاند، بلکه بر روی سنگها باقی می گذارند که دیده شود.

⁸That it may cause wrath to come up to take vengeance, I have set her blood on the bare rock, that it should not be covered.

⁸من هم خونی را که بر روی سنگها ریخته شده است بحالش می گذارم و آن را نمی پوشانم تا با قهر و غضب از آن شهر انتقام بگیرم.»

⁹Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Woe to the bloody city! I also will make the pile great.

⁹خداوند متعال چنین می فرماید: «وای بر تو ای شهر خونریز، من به تودۀ هیزم می افزایم.

¹⁰Heap on the wood, make the fire hot, boil well the flesh, and make thick the broth, and let the bones be burned.

¹⁰پس هیزم فراوان بیاورید، زیر دیگ آتش کنید گوشت را جوش بدهید و آن را خوب بپزید و استخوانها را بیرون کرده بسوزانید.

¹¹Then set it empty on its coals, that it may be hot, and its brass may burn, and that its filthiness may be molten in it, that its rust may be consumed.

¹¹بعد دیگ خالی را بر آتش بگذارید تا سرخ شود و از زنگ و نجاست پاک گردد.

¹²She has wearied herself with toil; yet her great rust doesn’t go forth out of her; her rust doesn’t go forth by fire.

¹²من بی جهت خود را خسته ساختم، زیرا باوجود حرارت زیادِ آتش، زنگ و ناپاکی آن زدوده نشد.

¹³In your filthiness is lewdness: because I have cleansed you and you weren’t cleansed, you shall not be cleansed from your filthiness any more, until I have caused my wrath toward you to rest.

¹³ای اورشلیم، کارهای قبیح و زشت تو ترا نجس ساخته است. من سعی کردم که ترا از نجاست پاک کنم، ولی تو پاک نشدی، بنابران تا زمانی که خشم خود را بر تو بریزم، همچنان آلوده و نجس باقی می مانی.

¹⁴I, Yahweh, have spoken it: it shall happen, and I will do it: I will not go back, neither will I spare, neither will I repent; according to your ways, and according to your doings, shall they judge you, says the Lord Yahweh.

¹⁴من که خداوند هستم این را گفته ام و زمانی آمدنی است که همین گفتۀ خود را عملی می سازم. گناهان شان را نمی بخشم و بر آن ها رحم نمی کنم، بلکه همه را مطابق اعمال و کردار شان جزا می دهم.» خداوند متعال فرموده است.

¹⁵Also the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

¹⁵خداوند به من فرمود:

¹⁶Son of man, behold, I will take away from you the desire of your eyes with a stroke: yet you shall neither mourn nor weep, neither shall your tears run down.

¹⁶«ای انسان خاکی، می خواهم که با یک ضربه همسرت را که نور چشم تو است، از تو بگیرم، اما تو نباید ماتم بگیری و یا گریه کنی و اشک بریزی.

¹⁷Sigh, but not aloud, make no mourning for the dead; bind your headdress on you, and put your shoes on your feet, and don’t cover your lips, and don’t eat men’s bread.

¹⁷آه و ناله ات نباید شنیده شود. برای مرده سوگوار مباش. دستارت بر سر و بوتهایت به پاهایت باشند. رویت را نپوشان و نان مُرده خانه را نخور.»

¹⁸So I spoke to the people in the morning; and at even my wife died; and I did in the morning as I was commanded.

¹⁸صبح روز دیگر موضوع را به مردم گفتم و در عصر همان روز همسرم درگذشت. روز بعد طبق امر خداوند عمل کردم.

¹⁹The people said to me, Won’t you tell us what these things are to us, that you do so?

¹⁹آنگاه مردم به من گفتند: «منظورت از این کارها چیست و چرا به ما نمی گوئی؟»

²⁰Then I said to them, The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

²⁰جواب دادم: «خداوند به من فرمود که به شما این پیام او را برسانم:

²¹Speak to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the pride of your power, the desire of your eyes, and that which your soul pities; and your sons and your daughters whom you have left behind shall fall by the sword.

²¹عبادتگاه مقدسم را که مایۀ افتخار و دلخوشی و امید شما است بی حرمت می سازم و فرزندان تان که در اورشلیم باقی مانده اند با دَم شمشیر کشته می شوند.

²²You shall do as I have done: you shall not cover your lips, nor eat the bread of men.

²²پس شما هم باید مثل حِزقیال رفتار کنید. روی خود را نپوشانید و نان مرده خانه را نخورید.

²³Your tires shall be on your heads, and your shoes on your feet: you shall not mourn nor weep; but you shall pine away in your iniquities, and moan one toward another.

²³سر و پای تان را بپوشانید. برای مرده ماتم نگیرید و گریه نکنید، بلکه بخاطر گناهان تان باید غمگین باشید. با یکدیگر آه بکشید و ناله را سردهید.

²⁴Thus Ezekiel shall be a sign to you; according to all that he has done, you will do. When this comes, then you will know that I am the Lord Yahweh.

²⁴او برای شما علامتی است. کاری را که او کرد شما هم بکنید. وقتی این واقعه رُخداد، می دانید که من خداوند متعال هستم.»

²⁵You, son of man, shall it not be in the day when I take from them their strength, the joy of their glory, the desire of their eyes, and that whereupon they set their heart, their sons and their daughters,

²⁵خداوند فرمود: «ای انسان خاکی، در آن روز عبادتگاه شان را که باعث قوت قلب، سُرُور، افتخار و مرجع آمال آن ها است، از آن ها می گیرم و همچنین پسران و دختران شان را از بین می برم.

²⁶that in that day he who escapes shall come to you, to cause you to hear it with your ears?

²⁶در آن روز هر کسی که از نابودی نجات یابد، پیش تو می آید و از واقعه ترا آگاه می سازد.در همان روز، پیش کسی که نجات یافته است، زبانت دوباره جاری می شود و حرف زده می توانی و دیگر گنگ نمی باشی. به این ترتیب تو برای آن ها علامتی بوده و آن ها می دانند که من خداوند هستم.»

²⁷In that day your mouth will be opened to him who has escaped, and you shall speak, and be no more mute: so you will be a sign to them; and they shall know that I am Yahweh.

²⁷در همان روز، پیش کسی که نجات یافته است، زبانت دوباره جاری می شود و حرف زده می توانی و دیگر گنگ نمی باشی. به این ترتیب تو برای آن ها علامتی بوده و آن ها می دانند که من خداوند هستم.»
