¹Now in the things which we are saying, the main point is this. We have such a high priest, who sat down on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,

¹خلاصه آنچه تا به حال گفته ایم این است که ما چنین کاهنی داریم که در عالم بالا در دست راست تخت خدای قادر مطلق نشسته است

²a servant of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, not man.

²و به عنوان کاهن اعظم در درگاه و در آن خیمۀ حقیقی که به دست خداوند برپا شده است، نه به دست انسان، خدمت می کند.

³For every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices. Therefore it is necessary that this high priest also have something to offer.

³همچنین هر کاهن اعظم مأمور است، هدایایی تقدیم نموده مراسم قربانی را انجام دهد. بنابراین، کاهن ما نیز باید چیزی برای تقدیم کردن داشته باشد.

⁴For if he were on earth, he would not be a priest at all, seeing there are priests who offer the gifts according to the law;

⁴اگر عیسی هنوز بر روی زمین می بود، به عنوان یک کاهن خدمت نمی کرد، زیرا کاهنان دیگری هستند که هدایایی را که شریعت مقرر کرده است، تقدیم کنند.

⁵who serve a copy and shadow of the heavenly things, even as Moses was warned by God when he was about to make the tabernacle, for he said, “See, you shall make everything according to the pattern that was shown to you on the mountain.” Exodus 25:40

⁵اما خدمتی که این کاهنان می کنند، فقط نمونه و سایه ای از آن خدمت آسمانی و واقعی است. وقتی موسی می خواست خیمۀ حضور خدا را بسازد، خدا با تأکید به او امر کرده گفت: «دقت کن که هر چیزی را مطابق نمونه ای که بر فراز کوه به تو نشان داده شد بسازی.»

⁶But now he has obtained a more excellent ministry, by so much as he is also the mediator of a better covenant, which on better promises has been given as law.

⁶اما در حقیقت خدمتی که به عیسی عطا شد از خدمت لاویان به مراتب بهتر است؛ همانطور که عهد و پیمانی که او میان خدا و انسان ایجاد کرده بهتر است، زیرا این عهد بر وعده های بهتری استوار است.

⁷For if that first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second.

⁷اگر آن عهد اول بدون نقص می بود، هیچ نیازی نمی بود که عهد دیگری جای آن را بگیرد،

⁸For finding fault with them, he said, “Behold, the days come,” says the Lord, “that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah;

⁸اما خداوند به قوم برگزیدۀ خود انتقاد کرده می فرماید:«ایامی خواهد آمد که من عهدی نوی با خاندان اسرائیل و با خاندان یهودا ببندم. خداوند می گوید:

⁹not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers, in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; for they didn’t continue in my covenant, and I disregarded them,” says the Lord.

⁹این عهد نو مانند آن عهدی نخواهد بود که با اجداد ایشان بستم، در روزی که دست آن ها را گرفته و به بیرون از مصر هدایت شان نمودم، زیرا آن ها مطابق آن عهد عمل نکردند، و خداوند می فرماید: پس من هم از آنها روی گردان شدم.

¹⁰“For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel. After those days,” says the Lord; “I will put my laws into their mind, I will also write them on their heart. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

¹⁰خداوند می فرماید: این است عهدی که پس از آن ایام با خاندان اسرائیل خواهم بست: شریعت خود را در افکار آنها خواهم گذاشت و آن را بر دل های شان خواهم نوشت. من خدای آنها و آنها قوم برگزیدۀ من خواهند بود

¹¹They will not teach every man his fellow citizen, TR reads “neighbor” instead of “fellow citizen” and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the Lord,’ for all will know me, from their least to their greatest.

¹¹و دیگر احتیاجی نیست که آنها به همشهریان خود تعلیم دهند یا به برادر خود بگویند: خدا را بشناس، زیرا همه از بزرگ تا کوچک مرا خواهند شناخت.

¹²For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness. I will remember their sins and lawless deeds no more.” Jeremiah 31:31-34

¹²در مقابل خطایای آن ها بخشنده خواهم بود و دیگر گناهان آنها را هرگز به یاد نخواهم آورد.»خدا وقتی دربارۀ عهد نو سخن می گوید، عهد اولی را منسوخ می شمارد و هرچه کهنه و فرسوده شود بزودی از بین خواهد رفت.

¹³In that he says, “A new covenant,” he has made the first old. But that which is becoming old and grows aged is near to vanishing away.

¹³خدا وقتی دربارۀ عهد نو سخن می گوید، عهد اولی را منسوخ می شمارد و هرچه کهنه و فرسوده شود بزودی از بین خواهد رفت.
