1The word of Yahweh which came to Jeremiah the prophet concerning the nations.
1خداوند در مورد اقوام مختلف به ارمیا گفت؛
2Of Egypt: concerning the army of Pharaoh Necoh king of Egypt, which was by the river Euphrates in Carchemish, which Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon struck in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah.
2و اولین آن ها در مورد مصر بود. در سال چهارم سلطنت یَهویاقیم (پسر یوشیا)، پادشاه یهودا، هنگامی که لشکر نِکو، پادشاه مصر، در جنگ کرکمیش در کنار دریای فرات از قوای نبوکدنصر، پادشاه بابل، شکست خورد، خداوند راجع به فرعون و سپاه مصر چنین فرمود:
3Prepare the buckler and shield, and draw near to battle!
3«سپرها را بردارید و به میدان جنگ بروید!
4Harness the horses, and get up, you horsemen, and stand forth with your helmets; furbish the spears, put on the coats of mail.
4اسپها را زین کنید و سوار شوید! کلاهخود را بر سر بگذارید و در صف جا بگیرید. نیزه ها را تیز کنید و زره بپوشید.
5Why have I seen it? they are dismayed and are turned backward; and their mighty ones are beaten down, and have fled apace, and don’t look back: terror is on every side, says Yahweh.
5خداوند می گوید: اما چه می بینم؟ آن ها وحشت زده عقب نشینی می کنند. جنگجویان آن ها شکست خورده و در حال فرار هستند. به عقب نگاه نمی کنند و ترس از هر طرف آن ها را احاطه کرده است!
6Don’t let the swift flee away, nor the mighty man escape; in the north by the river Euphrates have they stumbled and fallen.
6چابکترین آن ها قادر به فرار نیستند و قویترین آن ها نمی توانند بگریزند. در شمال، در کنار دریای فرات می لغزند و می افتند.
7Who is this who rises up like the Nile, whose waters toss themselves like the rivers?
7آن کیست که برخاسته است و مانند دریای نیل، که وقتی طغیان می کند، آبش بالا می آید و زمینهای اطراف را فرا می گیرد؟
8Egypt rises up like the Nile, and his waters toss themselves like the rivers: and he says, I will rise up, I will cover the earth; I will destroy cities and its inhabitants.
8این مصر است که مثل دریای نیل طغیان کرده است و می گوید: می خواهم متلاطم شوم روی زمین را بپوشانم و شهرها را با ساکنین آن ها نابود سازم.
9Go up, you horses; and rage, you chariots; and let the mighty men go forth: Cush and Put, who handle the shield; and the Ludim, who handle and bend the bow.
9پس ای اسپها براه بیفتید، ای عراده ها حرکت کنید و ای جنگ آوران آماده شوید؛ مردان حبشه و فُوت را با سپرها و سربازان لُودی را با کمانهای شان بفرستید.»
10For that day is of the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, a day of vengeance, that he may avenge him of his adversaries: and the sword shall devour and be satiate, and shall drink its fill of their blood; for the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, has a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.
10امروز، روز خداوند، خدای قادر مطلق است و خداوند می خواهد که از دشمنان انتقام بگیرد. شمشیر او آنقدر می کشد تا سیر شود و از خون شان مست گردد. زیرا امروز خداوند قادر مطلق، در شمال، در کنار دریای فرات مراسم قربانی را برپا می کند.
11Go up into Gilead, and take balm, virgin daughter of Egypt: in vain do you use many medicines; there is no healing for you.
11ای باکره دختر مصر به جستجوی دوا و دارو به جلعاد برو، اما دوا و درمان فایده ای ندارد و ترا درمان نمی کند.
12The nations have heard of your shame, and the earth is full of your cry; for the mighty man has stumbled against the mighty, they are fallen both of them together.
12مردم جهان از رسوائی تو خبر شده اند و گریه و فریاد تو روی زمین را پُر کرده است، زیرا جنگجویان تو می لغزند و بر یکدیگر می افتند.
13The word that Yahweh spoke to Jeremiah the prophet, how that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon should come and strike the land of Egypt.
13بعد خداوند در مورد آمدن نبوکدنصر، پادشاه بابل، به ارمیا چنین فرمود:
14Declare in Egypt, and publish in Migdol, and publish in Memphis and in Tahpanhes: say, Stand forth, and prepare; for the sword has devoured around you.
14«در مصر اعلام کنید و به مِجدَل، ممفیس و تَحفَنحیس خبر بدهید و بگوئید: به پا بایستید و آماده شوید، زیرا اطرافیان تان با شمشیر هلاک می شوند.
15Why are your strong ones swept away? they didn’t stand, because Yahweh pushed them.
15چرا خدای تان، آپیس افتاده است و بر نمی خیزد؟ بخاطری که خداوند او را به زمین کوبیده است.
16He made many to stumble, yes, they fell one on another: and they said, Arise, and let us go again to our own people, and to the land of our birth, from the oppressing sword.
16سپاه شما لغزیدند و افتادند و به یکدیگر گفتند: «بیائید که پیش قوم و به زادگاه خود برگردیم، زیرا شمشیر کشندۀ دشمن ما را نابود می کند.»
17They cried there, Pharaoh king of Egypt is but a noise; he has let the appointed time pass by.
17به فرعون، پادشاه مصر یک نام نَو بدهید. او را «هالک» بنامید چونکه فرصت را از دست داده است.»
18As I live, says the King, whose name is Yahweh of Armies, surely like Tabor among the mountains, and like Carmel by the sea, so shall he come.
18خداوند قادر مطلق که پادشاه کائنات است می فرماید: «به حیات خود قسم می خورم که شخص نیرومندی را برای حمله می فرستم. او مثل کوهِ تابور که بلندترین کوههای آن ناحیه است و مانند کوه کَرمَل که در کنار بحر سر بفلک کشیده و با عظمت است، می باشد.
19You daughter who dwells in Egypt, furnish yourself to go into captivity; for Memphis shall become a desolation, and shall be burnt up, without inhabitant.
19ای مردم مصر، سامان و لوازم تان را جمع کنید و برای تبعید آماده شوید، زیرا شهر ممفیس خراب می شود و به ویرانه و جای غیر مسکون تبدیل می گردد.
20Egypt is a very beautiful heifer; but destruction out of the north has come, it has come.
20مصر مثل یک گوسالۀ خوشنما است، اما مگسی از شمال، بر او هجوم می آورد.
21Also her hired men in the midst of her are like calves of the stall; for they also are turned back, they are fled away together, they didn’t stand: for the day of their calamity has come on them, the time of their visitation.
21حتی عساکر اجیر آن ها مانند گوساله های ناتوان تاب مقاومت را نداشته فرار می کند، زیرا روزگار مصیبت و مجازات شان رسیده است.
22The sound of it shall go like the serpent; for they shall march with an army, and come against her with axes, as wood cutters.
22مصر مثل مار صدا بر می آورد و خزیده فرار می کند، چونکه دشمنان با قدرت تمام می آیند و مانند چوب شکنی که درختان را می بُرند، با تیشۀ خود ریشۀ حیات آن ها را قطع می کنند.
23They shall cut down her forest, says Yahweh, though it can’t be searched; because they are more than the locusts, and are innumerable.
23جنگلهای انبوه و غیر قابل نفوذ آن ها را از بین می بَرند، زیرا تعداد آن ها مثل خیل ملخ بی شمار است.
24The daughter of Egypt shall be disappointed; she shall be delivered into the hand of the people of the north.
24اهالی مصر سرافگنده و رسوا می شوند و مردمی از جانب شمال آن ها را مغلوب می کنند.»
25Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, says: Behold, I will punish Amon of No, and Pharaoh, and Egypt, with her gods, and her kings; even Pharaoh, and those who trust in him:
25خداوند قادر مطلق، خدای اسرائیل، می فرماید: «بدانید که من آمون (خدای تِبس) را همراه با فرعون، مصر، بتها، پادشاهان و همه کسانی را که به پادشاه مصر اتکاء می نمایند، مجازات می کنم.
26and I will deliver them into the hand of those who seek their lives, and into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and into the hand of his servants; and afterwards it shall be inhabited, as in the days of old, says Yahweh.
26آن ها را به دست نبوکدنصر، پادشاه بابل و سپاه او و به دست کسانی که تشنۀ خون شان هستند، می سپارم. اما بعد از زمانی، مصر مانند سابق آباد و قابل سکونت می شود. خداوند فرموده است.
27But don’t you be afraid, Jacob my servant, neither be dismayed, Israel: for, behold, I will save you from afar, and your seed from the land of their captivity; and Jacob shall return, and shall be quiet and at ease, and none shall make him afraid.
27اما ای بندۀ من یعقوب و ای قوم اسرائیل، نترسید و هراسان نباشید، زیرا من شما و فرزندان تان را از دورترین جاهای روی زمین و از اسارت نجات می دهم و دوباره می آورم تا در وطن تان به آرامی و آسودگی زندگی کنید و از هیچ کسی نترسید.خداوند می فرماید: ای بندۀ من یعقوب نترس، زیرا که من همراه تو هستم و همه اقوامی که شما را در بین شان پراگنده ساختم، سر به نیست می شوند. شما را از بین نمی برم، اما بدون مجازات هم نمی گذارم.»
28Don’t you be afraid, O Jacob my servant, says Yahweh; for I am with you: for I will make a full end of all the nations where I have driven you; but I will not make a full end of you, but I will correct you in measure, and will in no way leave you unpunished.
28خداوند می فرماید: ای بندۀ من یعقوب نترس، زیرا که من همراه تو هستم و همه اقوامی که شما را در بین شان پراگنده ساختم، سر به نیست می شوند. شما را از بین نمی برم، اما بدون مجازات هم نمی گذارم.»
