1The word that Yahweh spoke concerning Babylon, concerning the land of the Chaldeans, by Jeremiah the prophet.
1خداوند در مورد بابل و سرزمین کلدانیان به ارمیای نبی چنین فرمود:
2Declare among the nations and publish, and set up a standard; publish, and don’t conceal: say, Babylon is taken, Bel is disappointed, Merodach is dismayed; her images are disappointed, her idols are dismayed.
2«به همه اقوام خبر بدهید؛ عَلَمی را برافرازید و آشکارا اعلام کنید و بگوئید که بابل سقوط کرد. بتِ بِل خجل می شود و بتِ مرودک و سایر بتهای بابل شرمنده و رسوا می گردند،
3For out of the north there comes up a nation against her, which shall make her land desolate, and none shall dwell therein: they are fled, they are gone, both man and animal.
3زیرا قومی از جانب شمال بر بابل می تازد. آن را ویران و غیر مسکون ساخته انسان و حیوان از آنجا می گریزد.»
4In those days, and in that time, says Yahweh, the children of Israel shall come, they and the children of Judah together; they shall go on their way weeping, and shall seek Yahweh their God.
4خداوند می فرماید: «در آن ایام و در آن زمان، مردم اسرائیل و یهودا گریه کنان می آیند و خداوند، خدای خود را می جویند.
5They shall inquire concerning Zion with their faces turned toward it, saying, Come, and join yourselves to Yahweh in an everlasting covenant that shall not be forgotten.
5راه سهیون را جویا می شوند بسوی آن رو می آورند. آن ها به آنجا می رسند، با من پیمان ابدی می بندند و آن پیمان هرگز فراموش نمی شود.
6My people have been lost sheep: their shepherds have caused them to go astray; they have turned them away on the mountains; they have gone from mountain to hill; they have forgotten their resting place.
6قوم برگزیدۀ من مانند گوسفندان گمشده هستند. رهبران شان آن ها را گمراه کردند و در بین کوهها و تپه ها سرگردان و آواره ساختند. این قوم وطن و خانۀ خود را فراموش کرده اند و نمی دانند که چگونه به آنجا برگردند.
7All who found them have devoured them; and their adversaries said, We are not guilty, because they have sinned against Yahweh, the habitation of righteousness, even Yahweh, the hope of their fathers.
7کسانی که آن ها را می یافتند، می کشتند و دشمنان شان به آن ها می گفتند: «ما حق داریم که با آن ها اینگونه رفتار کنیم، زیرا این مردم در برابر خداوند، چوپان واقعی، که مایۀ امید پدران شان بود، گناه کرده اند.»
8Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and go forth out of the land of the Chaldeans, and be as the male goats before the flocks.
8ای قوم اسرائیل، از بابل فرار کنید و از کشور کلدانیان خارج شوید. همچون بز نر که رمه را بدنبال خود می کشد، پیشقدم شده دیگران را هدایت کنید،
9For, behold, I will stir up and cause to come up against Babylon a company of great nations from the north country; and they shall set themselves in array against her; from there she shall be taken: their arrows shall be as of an expert mighty man; none shall return in vain.
9زیرا من اقوام نیرومند شمال را بر می انگیزم تا به بابل هجوم ببرند و آن را تصرف کنند. آن ها تیراندازان ماهری هستند که تیرهای شان هرگز هدف را خطا نمی کنند.
10Chaldea shall be a prey: all who prey on her shall be satisfied, says Yahweh.
10بابل غارت می شود و همه چیز آن را به تاراج می برند. خداوند فرموده است.
11Because you are glad, because you rejoice, O you who plunder my heritage, because you are wanton as a heifer that treads out the grain, and neigh as strong horses;
11ای غارتگران قوم برگزیدۀ من، شما خوشحال هستید و بخود می بالید. مانند گوساله ای در چراگاه جست و خیز می زنید و مثل اسپ شیهه می کشید،
12your mother shall be utterly disappointed; she who bore you shall be confounded: behold, she shall be the least of the nations, a wilderness, a dry land, and a desert.
12اما بدانید که شهر تان خوار می شود و کشور تان تحقیر و رسوا می گردد. سرزمین بابل قدر و اهمیت خود را از دست داده به بیابان خشک و بی آب تبدیل می شود،
13Because of the wrath of Yahweh she shall not be inhabited, but she shall be wholly desolate: everyone who goes by Babylon shall be astonished, and hiss at all her plagues.
13و در اثر قهر و غضب من بابل غیر مسکون شده بکلی ویران می گردد. هر کسی که از آنجا عبور کند، از دیدن وضع بد آن متحیر می شود.
14Set yourselves in array against Babylon all around, all you who bend the bow; shoot at her, spare no arrows: for she has sinned against Yahweh.
14ای کمانداران، در مقابل بابل صف آرائی کنید. همگی تیرهای تان را بسوی آن رها کنید، زیرا مردم آن در برابر من گناه ورزیده اند.
15Shout against her all around: she has submitted herself; her bulwarks are fallen, her walls are thrown down; for it is the vengeance of Yahweh: take vengeance on her; as she has done, do to her.
15از هر طرف فریاد برآورید، چونکه بابل تسلیم شده است و حصارهایش ویران شده و دیوارهایش فرو ریخته اند، زیرا روز انتقام من است. همان بلائی را که بر سر دیگران آورد بر سر خودش می آورم.
16Cut off the sower from Babylon, and him who handles the sickle in the time of harvest: for fear of the oppressing sword they shall turn everyone to his people, and they shall flee everyone to his own land.
16نگذارید کسی در آنجا تخم بکارد و یا محصول را درو کند. همه بیگانگانی که در آنجا زندگی می کنند، باید پیش قوم خود و به وطن خود برگردند تا از دَم شمشیر کشندۀ دشمن در امان باشند.»
17Israel is a hunted sheep; the lions have driven him away: first, the king of Assyria devoured him; and now at last Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has broken his bones.
17خداوند می فرماید: «اسرائیل گوسفند گمشده ای بود که مورد حملۀ شیرها قرار گرفت. اول، پادشاه آشور دست به کشتار آن زد و بعد نبوکدنصر، پادشاه بابل، استخوانهای آنرا خُرد کرد.
18Therefore thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel: Behold, I will punish the king of Babylon and his land, as I have punished the king of Assyria.
18پس حالا من، خداوند قادر مطلق، خدای اسرائیل، همانطوری که پادشاه آشور را مجازات کردم، پادشاه بابل و کشور او را هم مجازات خواهم کرد.
19I will bring Israel again to his pasture, and he shall feed on Carmel and Bashan, and his soul shall be satisfied on the hills of Ephraim and in Gilead.
19اما قوم اسرائیل را به مُلک و وطن شان بر می گردانم تا در کشتزارهای کَرمَل و باشان و در کوهستانهای افرایم و جلعاد، از نعمت های فراوان من سیر و برخوردار شوند.
20In those days, and in that time, says Yahweh, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and they shall not be found: for I will pardon them whom I leave as a remnant.
20در آن ایام و زمان، گناهی در مردم اسرائیل و یهودا دیده نمی شود، زیرا من گناهان بازماندگان آن ها را می بخشم. خداوند فرموده است.»
21Go up against the land of Merathaim, even against it, and against the inhabitants of Pekod: kill and utterly destroy after them, says Yahweh, and do according to all that I have commanded you.
21خداوند می فرماید: «بر مردم مِراتایم و اهالی فَقود حمله کنید و قراریکه به شما امر فرموده ام، همه را بکلی از بین ببرید.
22A sound of battle is in the land, and of great destruction.
22نعرۀ جنگ و فریاد شکست و نابودی از آن سرزمین بلند است.
23How is the hammer of the whole earth cut apart and broken! how is Babylon become a desolation among the nations!
23چکش بابل همۀ جهان را ذره ذره کرد و حالا آن چکش خودش شکسته است و کشورهای جهان از دیدن آنچه که بر سر بابل آمده است، دچار هول و هراس می شوند.
24I have laid a snare for you, and you are also taken, Babylon, and you weren’t aware: you are found, and also caught, because you have striven against Yahweh.
24ای بابل، بدون آنکه بدانی من برایت دام نهاده بودم و در آن گرفتارت کردم، زیرا تو به مخالفت من برخاستی.
25Yahweh has opened his armory, and has brought forth the weapons of his indignation; for the Lord, Yahweh of Armies, has a work to do in the land of the Chaldeans.
25من اسلحه خانۀ خود را گشوده و سلاح غضب خویش را بیرون آورده ام، زیرا من، خداوند قادر مطلق، خدای متعال در سرزمین کلدانیان کاری دارم.
26Come against her from the utmost border; open her storehouses; cast her up as heaps, and destroy her utterly; let nothing of her be left.
26از هر گوشۀ جهان به جنگ بابل بیائید و انبارهای غله اش را خالی نمائید. از خودش یک توده خاک بسازید و بکلی ویرانش کنید و هیچ چیزی را برایش باقی نگذارید.
27Kill all her bulls; let them go down to the slaughter: woe to them! for their day has come, the time of their visitation.
27گاوهای شان را به کشتارگاه ببَرید و سر ببُرید. افسوس بحال شان که زمان نابودی شان رسیده است!
28The voice of those who flee and escape out of the land of Babylon, to declare in Zion the vengeance of Yahweh our God, the vengeance of his temple.
28آواز فراریان و پناهندگان اسرائیل از بابل شنیده می شود که از انتقام خداوند، خدای ما و از انتقام عبادتگاه او در سهیون خبر می دهد.
29Call together the archers against Babylon, all those who bend the bow; encamp against her all around; let none of it escape: recompense her according to her work; according to all that she has done, do to her; for she has been proud against Yahweh, against the Holy One of Israel.
29کمانداران و تیراندازان را جمع کنید و به بابل بفرستید که آن را از چهار طرف محاصره کنند تا احدی نتواند بگریزد. همان کاری را که در حق دیگران کرد در حق خودش بکنند، زیرا از روی کبر و غرور به منِ خداوند، که خدای مقدس اسرائیل هستم، توهین نمود.
30Therefore her young men will fall in her streets, and all her men of war will be brought to silence in that day, says Yahweh.
30بنابران، در آن روز جوانانش در جاده ها و عساکرش در میدان جنگ کشته می شوند. این گفتۀ خداوند است.»
31Behold, I am against you, you proud one, says the Lord, Yahweh of Armies; for your day has come, the time that I will visit you.
31خداوند قادر مطلق، خدای متعال می فرماید: «ای کشور مغرور، من مخالف تو هستم، روز آن رسیده است که ترا به کیفرت برسانم.
32The proud one shall stumble and fall, and none shall raise him up; and I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall devour all who are around him.
32متکبران می لغزند و بر زمین می خورند و کسی آن ها را بر نمی دارد. در شهرهای آن آتشی را می افروزم تا همه چیزهای اطراف آن را بسوزاند.»
33Thus says Yahweh of Armies: The children of Israel and the children of Judah are oppressed together; and all who took them captive hold them fast; they refuse to let them go.
33خداوند قادر مطلق می فرماید: «بر مردم اسرائیل و یهودا ظلم شده است. کسانی که آن ها را اسیر گرفته اند، از نزدیک مراقب شان هستند و آن ها را رها نمی کنند.
34Their Redeemer is strong; Yahweh of Armies is his name: he will thoroughly plead their cause, that he may give rest to the earth, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babylon.
34اما نجات دهندۀ آن ها که نام او خداوند قادر مطلق است، قوی و نیرومند است و به داد شان می رسد. بر روی زمین صلح و آرامش را برقرار می کند، ولی مردم بابل را بی قرار می سازد.»
35A sword is on the Chaldeans, says Yahweh, and on the inhabitants of Babylon, and on her princes, and on her wise men.
35خداوند می فرماید: «شمشیری برای نابودی مردم بابل و بزرگان و دانشمندان می آید.
36A sword is on the boasters, and they shall become fools; a sword is on her mighty men, and they shall be dismayed.
36همۀ آن ها را با انبیای کاذب و احمق و جنگجویان شان از بین می برد.
37A sword is on their horses, and on their chariots, and on all the mixed people who are in the midst of her; and they shall become as women: a sword is on her treasures, and they shall be robbed.
37اسپها و عراده های شان را نابود می کند و عساکر اجیر را مانند زنان بی جرأت و کمدل می سازد. دارائی و ثروت شان را به تاراج می برد!
38A drought is on her waters, and they shall be dried up; for it is a land of engraved images, and they are mad over idols.
38خشکسالی را به آن سرزمین می فرستم تا آب دریاها خشک شود، زیرا آنجا پُر از بت است و مردم دیوانه وار بتها را پرستش می کنند.
39Therefore the wild animals of the desert with the wolves shall dwell there, and the ostriches shall dwell therein: and it shall be no more inhabited forever; neither shall it be lived in from generation to generation.
39سرزمین بابل مسکن حیوانات وحشی و بیشۀ گرگها و شترمرغ ها می شود. دیگر انسانی در آن سکونت نمی کند و سالها غیر مسکون باقی می ماند.
40As when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah and the neighbor cities of it, says Yahweh, so shall no man dwell there, neither shall any son of man live therein.
40همانطوری که سدوم و عموره را با همسایگان شان نابود کردم، بابل راهم از بین می برم و از سکنه خالی می سازم. خداوند فرموده است.
41Behold, a people comes from the north; and a great nation and many kings shall be stirred up from the uttermost parts of the earth.
41ببینید، قوم نیرومندی از جانب شمال می آید. پادشاهان زیادی از نقاط دوردست زمین بر تو می تازند.
42They lay hold on bow and spear; they are cruel, and have no mercy; their voice roars like the sea; and they ride on horses, everyone set in array, as a man to the battle, against you, daughter of Babylon.
42آن ها مردمان ظالم و بیرحم و همه مجهز با کمان و نیزه می باشند. جنگجویان آن ها سوار بر اسپ و آواز شان مانند غرش بحر است و برای جنگ تو ای بابل، می شتابند.
43The king of Babylon has heard the news of them, and his hands wax feeble: anguish has taken hold of him, pains as of a woman in labor.
43وقتی خبر به پادشاه بابل برسد، پاهایش سست شده می افتد و مثل زنی که در حال زایمان باشد، درد می کشد.
44Behold, the enemy shall come up like a lion from the pride of the Jordan against the strong habitation: for I will suddenly make them run away from it; and whoever is chosen, him will I appoint over it: for who is like me? and who will appoint me a time? and who is the shepherd who can stand before me?
44مانند شیری که از جنگلهای اُردن بر چراگاه گوسفندان حمله می آورد، من هم ناگهان بر بابل هجوم می آورم و مردم آن را از آنجا بیرون می رانم و کیست آن برگزیده ای که او را بر آن بگمارم؟ زیرا چه کسی مثل من است و چه کسی می تواند مرا محاکمه کند؟ کدام رهبری می تواند به مخالفت من برخیزد؟
45Therefore hear the counsel of Yahweh, that he has taken against Babylon; and his purposes, that he has purposed against the land of the Chaldeans: Surely they shall drag them away, even the little ones of the flock; surely he shall make their habitation desolate over them.
45پس بشنوید، اینست طرح نقشه ای که من علیه مردم بابل کشیده ام: کودکان شان ربوده می شوند و همه به وحشت می افتند.از صدای سقوط بابل زمین می لرزد و فریاد آن بگوش تمام اقوام جهان می رسد.»
46At the noise of the taking of Babylon the earth trembles, and the cry is heard among the nations.
46از صدای سقوط بابل زمین می لرزد و فریاد آن بگوش تمام اقوام جهان می رسد.»
