¹Blow the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble, for the day of Yahweh comes, for it is close at hand:

¹زنگ خطر را در صَهیون بنوازید؛ بگذارید صدای آن از سر کوه مقدس من شنیده شود و همۀ ساکنین کشور از ترس بلرزند، زیرا روز داوری خداوند نزدیک می شود و بزودی فرا می رسد.

²A day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness. As the dawn spreading on the mountains, a great and strong people; there has never been the like, neither will there be any more after them, even to the years of many generations.

²آن روز، روز تاریکی و ظلمت، روز ابر های سیاه و تاریکی غلیظ است. سپاه نیرومندی مثل سیاهی تیره ای، کوه ها را می پوشاند. آن لشکر چنان بزرگ و قوی است که مثل آن قبلاً هرگز دیده نشده است و بعد از این هم دیده نمی شود.

³A fire devours before them, and behind them, a flame burns. The land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them, a desolate wilderness. Yes, and no one has escaped them.

³پیشاپیش آن ها آتش و در عقب آن ها شعله ای همه چیز را می سوزاند. زمین پیش از آمدن آن ها مثل باغ عدن می باشد، اما وقتی از آن می گذرند به بیابان خشک و پژمرده تبدیل می شود. هیچ چیزی از چنگ آن ها رهائی یافته نمی تواند.

⁴Their appearance is as the appearance of horses, and as horsemen, so do they run.

⁴آن ها شبیه اسپ هستند و مانند اسپهای جنگی می تازند.

⁵Like the noise of chariots on the tops of the mountains do they leap, like the noise of a flame of fire that devours the stubble, as a strong people set in battle array.

⁵وقتی بر کوه ها جست و خیز می زنند، صدای شان مثل غرش عراده ها و صدای شعلۀ آتشی است که کاه را می سوزاند و مانند غریو سپاه نیرومندی است که برای جنگ لشکر کشی می کند.

⁶At their presence the peoples are in anguish. All faces have grown pale.

⁶در برابر آن ها مردم وحشت می کنند و رنگ از روی شان می پرد.

⁷They run like mighty men. They climb the wall like warriors. They each march in his line, and they don’t swerve off course.

⁷مثل جنگجویان حمله می آورند و همچون سربازان از دیوارها بالا می روند. هر یک از آن ها مستقیماً پیش می رود و خط سیر خود را تغییر نمی دهد.

⁸Neither does one jostle another; they march everyone in his path, and they burst through the defenses, and don’t break ranks.

⁸یکدیگر خود را شانه نمی زنند، بلکه در صف خود مستقیماً پیش می روند، خط دفاع را می شکنند و هیچ سلاحی نمی تواند مانع آن ها بشود.

⁹They rush on the city. They run on the wall. They climb up into the houses. They enter in at the windows like thieves.

⁹به شهر هجوم می برند، بر دیوارها بالا می شوند و مثل دزد از راه کلکین به خانه داخل می شوند.

¹⁰The earth quakes before them. The heavens tremble. The sun and the moon are darkened, and the stars withdraw their shining.

¹⁰زمین در زیر پای آن ها به لرزه می آید و آسمان ها تکان می خورند. آفتاب و مهتاب تاریک می شوند و ستارگان نور افشانی نمی کنند.

¹¹Yahweh thunders his voice before his army; for his forces are very great; for he is strong who obeys his command; for the day of Yahweh is great and very awesome, and who can endure it?

¹¹خداوند با صدای بلند به لشکر خود فرمان می دهد و سپاه بزرگ و بیشمار او فرمانش را بجا می آورند. روز خداوند واقعاً روز با هیبت و هولناک است. کیست که بتواند آن را تحمل کند؟

¹²“Yet even now,” says Yahweh, “turn to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning.”

¹²خداوند می فرماید: «حتی همین حالا، با تمام قلب تان، با روزه و گریه و ماتم بسوی من برگردید.

¹³Tear your heart, and not your garments, and turn to Yahweh, your God; for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness, and relents from sending calamity.

¹³دلهای تان را چاک کنید نه لباس تان را.» بسوی خداوند، خدای تان بازگردید، زیرا او رحیم و مهربان است. زود قهر نمی شود و رحمت و محبت او بی پایان است. همیشه برای بخشیدن آماده است و راضی به مجازات شما نیست.

¹⁴Who knows? He may turn and relent, and leave a blessing behind him, even a meal offering and a drink offering to Yahweh, your God.

¹⁴کسی چه می داند، شاید خداوند ارادۀ خود را عوض کند و محصولات شما را آنقدر برکت بدهد که دوباره بتوانید هدیۀ آردی و ریختنی به خداوند، خدای تان تقدیم کنید.

¹⁵Blow the trumpet in Zion! Sanctify a fast. Call a solemn assembly.

¹⁵زنگ خطر را در صَهیون به صدا آورید و روزه را اعلام کنید. همگی جمع شوند

¹⁶Gather the people. Sanctify the assembly. Assemble the elders. Gather the children, and those who nurse from breasts. Let the bridegroom go forth from his room, and the bride out of her room.

¹⁶و آن ها را تقدیس نمائید. مو سفیدان، اطفال و حتی کودکان شیر خوار را جمع کنید. داماد از خانه و عروس از حُجلۀ خود بیرون بیاید.

¹⁷Let the priests, the ministers of Yahweh, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, “Spare your people, Yahweh, and don’t give your heritage to reproach, that the nations should rule over them. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?’”

¹⁷کاهنانی که خادمان خداوند هستند، بین قربانگاه و دروازۀ دخول عبادتگاه بایستند و گریه کنند و بگویند: «خداوندا، بر قوم برگزیدۀ خود رحم کن. نگذار که آن ها مایۀ تمسخر اقوام دیگر شوند و به قوم برگزیدۀ تو بگویند: خدای شما کجا است؟»

¹⁸Then Yahweh was jealous for his land, And had pity on his people.

¹⁸آنگاه خدای غیور بر سرزمین خود لطف فرمود و بر قوم برگزیدۀ خود رحمت کرد.

¹⁹Yahweh answered his people, “Behold, I will send you grain, new wine, and oil, and you will be satisfied with them; and I will no more make you a reproach among the nations.

¹⁹خداوند در جواب قوم برگزیدۀ خود فرمود: «من برای شما غله و شراب و روغن می فرستم تا سیر شوید. دیگر راضی نمی شوم که اقوام بیگانه شما را مسخره کنند.

²⁰But I will remove the northern army far away from you, and will drive it into a barren and desolate land, its front into the eastern sea, and its back into the western sea; and its stench will come up, and its bad smell will rise.” Surely he has done great things.

²⁰لشکر دشمن را که از شمال بر شما هجوم آوردند، از آنجا دور کرده به یک سرزمین خشک و ویران می رانم. بعضی از آن ها را در بحیرۀ مُرده و بعضی را در بحر مدیترانه می فرستم تا در آنجا بمیرند و بوی بد لاشه های شان بلند شود.»

²¹Land, don’t be afraid. Be glad and rejoice, for Yahweh has done great things.

²¹ای زمین نترس و خوشحال باش، زیرا خداوند کارهای بزرگی برایت انجام داده است!

²²Don’t be afraid, you animals of the field; for the pastures of the wilderness spring up, for the tree bears its fruit. The fig tree and the vine yield their strength.

²²ای حیوانات صحرا هراسان نباشید، زیرا چراگاهها سرسبز می شوند و درختان میوه بار می آورند. میوۀ انجیر و انگور فراوان می گردد.

²³“Be glad then, you children of Zion, and rejoice in Yahweh, your God; for he gives you the former rain in just measure, and he causes the rain to come down for you, the former rain and the latter rain, as before.

²³ای مردم صَهیون، خوشحال و شادمان باشید و از کارهای خداوند خوشی کنید! چون با فرستادن باران، عدالت خدائی خود را نشان می دهد. دوباره باران بهاری را در بهار و باران خزانی را در خزان برای سرسبزی زمین تان می فرستد.

²⁴The threshing floors will be full of wheat, and the vats will overflow with new wine and oil.

²⁴بار دیگر خرمنگاه ها پُر از گندم می شوند و کارگاه چرخُشت ها لبریز از روغن و شراب می گردند.

²⁵I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the great locust, the grasshopper, and the caterpillar, my great army, which I sent among you.

²⁵خداوند می فرماید: «خسارۀ سالهائی را که ملخها، همان لشکر بزرگی که من بر ضد شما فرستاده بودم، وارد آوردند جبران می کنم.

²⁶You will have plenty to eat, and be satisfied, and will praise the name of Yahweh, your God, who has dealt wondrously with you; and my people will never again be disappointed.

²⁶غذای فراوان می خورید و سیر می شوید و نام منِ خداوند را که خدای تان هستم بخاطر کارهای عجیبی که برای شما انجام داده ام تجلیل و تمجید می کنید. قوم برگزیدۀ من دیگر خوار و حقیر نمی شود.

²⁷You will know that I am in the midst of Israel, and that I am Yahweh, your God, and there is no one else; and my people will never again be disappointed.

²⁷آنگاه شما ای قوم اسرائیل می دانید که من در بین شما می باشم و تنها من، خداوند، خدای تان هستم و دیگری نیست و شما که قوم برگزیدۀ من می باشید دیگر هرگز خوار و شرمنده نمی شوید.

²⁸“It will happen afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; and your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams. Your young men will see visions.

²⁸بعد روح خود را بر همۀ مردم می ریزم. پسران و دختران تان نبوت می کنند. مو سفیدان شما خوابها و جوانان تان رؤیاها می بینند.

²⁹And also on the servants and on the handmaids in those days, I will pour out my Spirit.

²⁹در آن روزها حتی بر غلامان و کنیزان شما هم روح خود را می ریزم.

³⁰I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: blood, fire, and pillars of smoke.

³⁰علامات حیرت انگیزی از خون، آتش و ستونهای دود، در آسمان ها و زمین نشان می دهم.

³¹The sun will be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of Yahweh comes.

³¹قبل از آنکه روز عظیم و وحشتناک خداوند فرا رسد، آفتاب به تاریکی و مهتاب به خون مبدل می گردداما هرکسی که خداوند را فرا بخواند، نجات می یابد، زیرا خداوند فرموده است که در کوه صَهیون نجات یافتگان در امان اند و کسانی که برگزیدۀ او هستند زنده می مانند.»

³²It will happen that whoever will call on the name of Yahweh shall be saved; for in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there will be those who escape, as Yahweh has said, and among the remnant, those whom Yahweh calls.

³²اما هرکسی که خداوند را فرا بخواند، نجات می یابد، زیرا خداوند فرموده است که در کوه صَهیون نجات یافتگان در امان اند و کسانی که برگزیدۀ او هستند زنده می مانند.»
