¹It happened when Jesus had finished these words, he departed from Galilee, and came into the borders of Judea beyond the Jordan.

¹وقتی عیسی این سخنان را به پایان رسانید جلیل را ترک کرد و به ناحیه یهودیه در آن طرف دریای اُردن رفت.

²Great multitudes followed him, and he healed them there.

²جمعیت زیادی به دنبال او رفتند و عیسی آن ها را در آنجا شفا داد.

³Pharisees came to him, testing him, and saying, “Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife for any reason?”

³بعضی از فریسی ها هم پیش او آمده از روی امتحان از او پرسیدند: «آیا جایز است که مرد به هر علتی که بخواهد زن خود را طلاق دهد؟»

⁴He answered, “Haven’t you read that he who made them from the beginning made them male and female, Genesis 1:27

⁴عیسی در جواب از آن ها پرسید: «آیا تا به حال نخوانده اید که پروردگار از ابتدا انسان را مرد و زن آفرید؟

⁵ and said, ‘For this cause a man shall leave his father and mother, and shall join to his wife; and the two shall become one flesh?’ Genesis 2:24

⁵به این سبب است که مرد، پدر و مادر خود را ترک می کند و به زن خود می پیوندد و آن دو یک تن می شوند

⁶ So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, don’t let man tear apart.”

⁶از این رو آن ها دیگر دو نیستند بلکه یک تن هستند، پس آنچه را که خدا به هم پیوسته است انسان نباید جدا سازد.»

⁷They asked him, “Why then did Moses command us to give her a bill of divorce, and divorce her?”

⁷آن ها پرسیدند: «پس چرا موسی اجازه داد که مرد با دادن یک طلاق نامه به زن خود از او جدا شود؟»

⁸He said to them, “Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, allowed you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it has not been so.

⁸عیسی در جواب گفت: «به خاطر سنگدلی شما بود که موسی اجازه داد از زن خود جدا شوید، ولی از ابتدای خلقت چنین نبود.

⁹ I tell you that whoever divorces his wife, except for sexual immorality, and marries another, commits adultery; and he who marries her when she is divorced commits adultery.”

⁹اما من به شما می گویم هرکس زن خود را به هر سببی به جز سبب زنا طلاق دهد و با زن دیگری ازدواج نماید مرتکب زنا می شود.»

¹⁰His disciples said to him, “If this is the case of the man with his wife, it is not expedient to marry.”

¹⁰شاگردان به او گفتند: «اگر شوهر در مقابل زنش باید چنین وضعی داشته باشد، بهتر است که دیگر کسی ازدواج نکند.»

¹¹But he said to them, “Not all men can receive this saying, but those to whom it is given.

¹¹عیسی به آن ها گفت: «همه نمی توانند این سخن را قبول کنند، مگر کسانی که قدرت آن را داشته باشند.

¹² For there are eunuchs who were born that way from their mother’s womb, and there are eunuchs who were made eunuchs by men; and there are eunuchs who made themselves eunuchs for the Kingdom of Heaven’s sake. He who is able to receive it, let him receive it.”

¹²بعضی ها طوری به دنیا آمده اند که اصلاً نمی توانند ازدواج کنند، عده ای هم به دست انسان خسی شده اند و عده ای نیز به خاطر پادشاهی آسمانی از ازدواج خودداری می کنند. بنابراین هرکس قدرت اجرای این تعلیم را دارد، آن را بپذیرد.»

¹³Then little children were brought to him, that he should lay his hands on them and pray; and the disciples rebuked them.

¹³در این وقت عده ای از مردم، اطفال کوچک را پیش عیسی آوردند تا او دست خود را بر سر آن ها بگذارد و برای آن ها دعا کند. اما شاگردان آن ها را به خاطر این کار سرزنش کردند.

¹⁴But Jesus said, “Allow the little children, and don’t forbid them to come to me; for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to ones like these.”

¹⁴اما عیسی به آنها فرمود: «بگذارید اطفال کوچک نزد من بیایند و مانع آنها نشوید، زیرا پادشاهی آسمان به چنین کسانی تعلق دارد.»

¹⁵He laid his hands on them, and departed from there.

¹⁵عیسی دست خود را بر سر کودکان گذاشت و سپس از آنجا رفت.

¹⁶Behold, one came to him and said, “Good teacher, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?”

¹⁶در این هنگام مردی پیش آمد و از عیسی پرسید: «ای استاد چه کار نیکی باید بکنم تا بتوانم زندگی ابدی را به دست آورم؟»

¹⁷He said to him, “Why do you call me good? So MT and TR. NU reads “Why do you ask me about what is good?” No one is good but one, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments.”

¹⁷عیسی به او گفت: «چرا دربارۀ نیکی از من سؤال می کنی؟ فقط یکی نیکو است. اما اگر تو می خواهی به زندگی راه یابی، احکام شریعت را نگاه دار.»

¹⁸He said to him, “Which ones?” Jesus said, “‘You shall not murder.’ ‘You shall not commit adultery.’ ‘You shall not steal.’ ‘You shall not offer false testimony.’

¹⁸او پرسید: «کدام احکام؟» عیسی در جواب فرمود: «قتل نکن، زنا نکن، دزدی نکن، شهادت دروغ نده،

¹⁹ ‘Honor your father and mother.’ Exodus 20:12-16; Deuteronomy 5:16-20 And, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’” Leviticus 19:18

¹⁹احترام پدر و مادر خود را نگاه دار و همسایه ات را مانند خود دوست بدار.»

²⁰The young man said to him, “All these things I have observed from my youth. What do I still lack?”

²⁰آن جوان جواب داد: «من همۀ اینها را نگه داشته ام، دیگر چه چیزی کم دارم؟»

²¹Jesus said to him, “If you want to be perfect, go, sell what you have, and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”

²¹عیسی به او فرمود: «اگر می خواهی کامل باشی برو، دارایی خود را بفروش و به فقرا بده تا برای تو در عالم بالا ثروتی اندوخته شود. آن وقت بیا و از من پیروی کن.»

²²But when the young man heard the saying, he went away sad, for he was one who had great possessions.

²²وقتی آن جوان این را شنید با دلی افسرده از آنجا رفت زیرا ثروت بسیار داشت.

²³Jesus said to his disciples, “Most certainly I say to you, a rich man will enter into the Kingdom of Heaven with difficulty.

²³عیسی به شاگردان خود فرمود: «بدانید که ورود دولتمندان به پادشاهی آسمان بسیار مشکل است،

²⁴ Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through a needle’s eye, than for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of God.”

²⁴باز هم می گویم که گذشتن شتر از سوراخ سوزن آسانتر است تا ورود یک شخص دولتمند به پادشاهی خدا.»

²⁵When the disciples heard it, they were exceedingly astonished, saying, “Who then can be saved?”

²⁵شاگردان از شنیدن این سخن سخت پریشان شده پرسیدند: «پس چه کسی می تواند نجات بیابد؟»

²⁶Looking at them, Jesus said, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

²⁶عیسی به آنها دید و فرمود: «برای انسان این محال است ولی برای خدا همه چیز ممکن می باشد.»

²⁷Then Peter answered, “Behold, we have left everything, and followed you. What then will we have?”

²⁷پِترُس در جواب به او گفت: «ما که همه چیز را ترک کرده و به دنبال تو آمده ایم، اجر ما چه خواهد بود؟»

²⁸Jesus said to them, “Most certainly I tell you that you who have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man will sit on the throne of his glory, you also will sit on twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

²⁸عیسی جواب داد: «در حقیقت به شما می گویم که در روز قیامت، در آن هنگام که پسر انسان با شکوه و جلال آسمانی بر تخت سلطنت خود می نشیند، شما که از من پیروی کرده اید بر دوازده تخت خواهید نشست و بر دوازده طایفۀ اسرائیل داوری خواهید نمود.

²⁹ Everyone who has left houses, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, will receive one hundred times, and will inherit eternal life.

²⁹و هرکس که به خاطر من خانه و برادران و خواهران و پدر و مادر و کودکان و زمین خود را ترک کرده باشد، چندین برابر اجر خواهد گرفت و زندگی ابدی را به دست خواهد آورد.اما بسیاری از کسانی که اکنون اول هستند، آخر خواهند شد و بسیاری از آن ها که اکنون آخر هستند اول خواهند بود.

³⁰ But many will be last who are first; and first who are last.
