¹When he came down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.

¹وقتی عیسی از کوه پایین آمد جمعیت زیادی پشت سر او حرکت کرد.

²Behold, a leper came to him and worshiped him, saying, “Lord, if you want to, you can make me clean.”

²در این هنگام یک نفر جذامی به او نزدیک شد و پیش او به خاک افتاده گفت: ای آقا، اگر بخواهی می توانی مرا پاک سازی.

³Jesus stretched out his hand, and touched him, saying, “I want to. Be made clean.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

³عیسی دست خود را دراز کرده او را لمس نمود و گفت: «البته می خواهم، پاک شو» و فوراً آن مرد از جذام خود شفا یافت.

⁴Jesus said to him, “See that you tell nobody, but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”

⁴آنگاه عیسی به او فرمود: «احتیاط کن که چیزی به کسی نگویی، بلکه برو و خودت را به کاهن نشان بده و به خاطر شفای خود هدیه ای را که موسی مقرر کرده است تقدیم کن تا آن ها شفای تو را تصدیق نمایند.»

⁵When he came into Capernaum, a centurion came to him, asking him,

⁵در آن وقت که عیسی به کپرناحوم داخل می شد، یک صاحب منصب رومی پیش آمد و با زاری به او گفت:

⁶and saying, “Lord, my servant lies in the house paralyzed, grievously tormented.”

⁶«ای آقا، غلام من کرخت در خانه افتاده است و سخت درد می کشد.»

⁷Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.”

⁷عیسی فرمود: «من می آیم و او را شفا می دهم.»

⁸The centurion answered, “Lord, I’m not worthy for you to come under my roof. Just say the word, and my servant will be healed.

⁸اما آن صاحب منصب در جواب گفت: «ای آقا، من لایق آن نیستم که تو به زیر سقف خانه من بیایی. فقط امر کن و غلام من شفا خواهد یافت.

⁹For I am also a man under authority, having under myself soldiers. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and tell another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and tell my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.”

⁹چون خود من یک مأمور هستم و عساکر هم زیردست خویش دارم. وقتی به یکی می گویم «برو» می رود و به دیگری می گویم «بیا» می آید و وقتی به نوکر خود می گویم: «این کار را بکن» می کند.»

¹⁰When Jesus heard it, he marveled, and said to those who followed, “Most certainly I tell you, I haven’t found so great a faith, not even in Israel.

¹⁰عیسی از شنیدن این سخنان تعجب کرد و به مردمی که به دنبال او آمده بودند فرمود: «به شما می گویم که من چنین ایمانی در میان قوم اسرائیل هم ندیده ام.

¹¹ I tell you that many will come from the east and the west, and will sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the Kingdom of Heaven,

¹¹بدانید که بسیاری از مشرق و مغرب آمده با ابراهیم و اسحاق و یعقوب در پادشاهی آسمانی بر سر یک دسترخوان خواهند نشست

¹² but the children of the Kingdom will be thrown out into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”

¹²اما کسانی که برای این پادشاهی تولد یافتند به بیرون در ظلمت، جایی که گریه و دندان بر هم ساییدن است، افگنده خواهند شد.»

¹³Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way. Let it be done for you as you have believed.” His servant was healed in that hour.

¹³سپس عیسی به آن صاحب منصب گفت: «برو، مطابق ایمانت به تو داده شود.» در همان لحظه غلام او شفا یافت.

¹⁴When Jesus came into Peter’s house, he saw his wife’s mother lying sick with a fever.

¹⁴وقتی عیسی به خانه پِترُس رفت، خشوی پِترُس را دید که در بستر خوابیده است و تب دارد.

¹⁵He touched her hand, and the fever left her. She got up and served him. TR reads “them” instead of “him”

¹⁵عیسی دست او را لمس کرد. تب او قطع شد و برخاسته به پذیرایی عیسی پرداخت.

¹⁶When evening came, they brought to him many possessed with demons. He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick;

¹⁶همینکه غروب شد، بسیاری از دیوانگان را نزد او آوردند و او با گفتن یک کلمه ارواح ناپاک را بیرون می کرد و تمام بیماران را شفا می داد

¹⁷that it might be fulfilled which was spoken through Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He took our infirmities, and bore our diseases.” Isaiah 53:4

¹⁷تا پیشگویی اشعیای نبی تمام شود که گفته بود: «او ضعف های ما را برداشت و مرض های ما را از ما دور ساخت.»

¹⁸Now when Jesus saw great multitudes around him, he gave the order to depart to the other side.

¹⁸عیسی جمعیتی را که به دورش جمع شده بودند دید و به شاگردان خود امر کرد که به طرف دیگر بحیره بروند.

¹⁹A scribe came, and said to him, “Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go.”

¹⁹یکی از علمای دین یهود پیش آمده گفت: «ای استاد، هرجا که بروی به دنبال تو می آیم.»

²⁰Jesus said to him, “The foxes have holes, and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head.”

²⁰عیسی در جواب گفت: «روباهان برای خود لانه و پرندگان برای خود آشیانه دارند، اما پسر انسان جایی ندارد که در آن بیارامد.»

²¹Another of his disciples said to him, “Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father.”

²¹یکی دیگر از پیروان او به او گفت: «ای آقا، اجازه بده اول بروم و پدرم را به خاک بسپارم.»

²²But Jesus said to him, “Follow me, and leave the dead to bury their own dead.”

²²عیسی جواب داد: «به دنبال من بیا و بگذار مردگان، مردگان خود را دفن کنند.»

²³When he got into a boat, his disciples followed him.

²³عیسی سوار کشتی شد و شاگردانش هم با او حرکت کردند.

²⁴Behold, a violent storm came up on the sea, so much that the boat was covered with the waves, but he was asleep.

²⁴ناگهان طوفانی در بحیره برخاست بطوری که امواج، کشتی را پُر می ساخت، ولی عیسی در خواب بود.

²⁵They came to him, and woke him up, saying, “Save us, Lord! We are dying!”

²⁵پس شاگردان آمده او را بیدار کردند و با فریاد گفتند: «ای خداوند، ما را نجات بده، ما هلاک می شویم.»

²⁶He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then he got up, rebuked the wind and the sea, and there was a great calm.

²⁶عیسی گفت: «ای کم ایمانان، چرا اینقدر می ترسید؟» و سپس برخاسته با تندی به باد و بحیره فرمان داد و بحیره کاملاً آرام شد.

²⁷The men marveled, saying, “What kind of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?”

²⁷شاگردان از آنچه واقع شد حیران شده گفتند: «این چگونه شخصی است که باد و بحیره هم از او اطاعت می کنند؟»

²⁸When he came to the other side, into the country of the Gergesenes, NU reads “Gadarenes” two people possessed by demons met him there, coming out of the tombs, exceedingly fierce, so that nobody could pass that way.

²⁸هنگامی که عیسی به آن طرف بحیره به سرزمین جَدَریان رسید دو دیوانه از میان قبرها بیرون آمده با او روبرو شدند. آن ها آنقدر خطرناک بودند، که هیچکس جرأت نداشت از آنجا عبور کند.

²⁹Behold, they cried out, saying, “What do we have to do with you, Jesus, Son of God? Have you come here to torment us before the time?”

²⁹آن دو نفر با فریاد گفتند: «ای پسر خدا، با ما چه کار داری؟ آیا به اینجا آمده ای تا ما را پیش از وقت عذاب دهی؟»

³⁰Now there was a herd of many pigs feeding far away from them.

³⁰قدری دورتر از آن محل، یک گلۀ بزرگ خوک مشغول چریدن بود

³¹The demons begged him, saying, “If you cast us out, permit us to go away into the herd of pigs.”

³¹و ارواح ناپاک از عیسی خواهش کرده گفتند: «اگر می خواهی ما را بیرون برانی، ما را به داخل آن گلۀ خوک بفرست.»

³²He said to them, “Go!” They came out, and went into the herd of pigs: and behold, the whole herd of pigs rushed down the cliff into the sea, and died in the water.

³²عیسی فرمود: «بروید» پس آن ها بیرون آمده به داخل خوک ها رفتند. تمام آن گله از بالای تپه به بحیره هجوم بردند و در آب هلاک شدند.

³³Those who fed them fled, and went away into the city, and told everything, including what happened to those who were possessed with demons.

³³خوک بانان پا به فرار گذاشته به شهر رفتند و تمام داستان و ماجرای دیوانگان را برای مردم نقل کردند.در نتیجه تمام مردم شهر برای دیدن عیسی بیرون آمدند و وقتی او را دیدند از او تقاضا کردند که آن ناحیه را ترک نماید.

³⁴Behold, all the city came out to meet Jesus. When they saw him, they begged that he would depart from their borders.
