¹I said, “Please listen, you heads of Jacob, and rulers of the house of Israel: Isn’t it for you to know justice?

¹ای پیشوایان یعقوب و ای رهبران اسرائیل، بشنوید! شما باید مفهوم عدالت را بدانید،

²You who hate the good, and love the evil; who tear off their skin, and their flesh from off their bones;

²اما برعکس، شما از خوبی متنفرید و بدی را دوست دارید. قوم برگزیدۀ مرا زنده پوست می کنید و گوشتی بر استخوان آن ها باقی نمی گذارید.

³who also eat the flesh of my people, and flay their skin from off them, and break their bones, and chop them in pieces, as for the pot, and as flesh within the caldron.

³گوشت آن ها را می خورید، پوست آن ها را از بدن شان جدا کرده استخوان های شان را مانند گوشت تکه تکه می کنید و در دیگ می اندازید.

⁴Then they will cry to Yahweh, but he will not answer them. Yes, he will hide his face from them at that time, because they made their deeds evil.”

⁴آنگاه بحضور خداوند دعا و زاری می کنید، ولی او دعای شما را نمی شنود و بخاطر اعمال و کردار زشت تان روی خود را از شما می پوشاند.

⁵Thus says Yahweh concerning the prophets who lead my people astray; for those who feed their teeth, they proclaim, “Peace!” and whoever doesn’t provide for their mouths, they prepare war against him:

⁵خداوند می فرماید: «ای انبیاء، شما قوم برگزیدۀ مرا گمراه کرده اید. کسی که به شما پول می دهد، برایش دعای خیر می کنید و کسی را که پول نمی دهد، تهدید می نمائید.

⁶“Therefore night is over you, with no vision, and it is dark to you, that you may not divine; and the sun will go down on the prophets, and the day will be black over them.

⁶روز روشن شما بپایان رسیده است و آفتاب بر شما نخواهد تابید، تا دیگر رؤیائی نبینید و پیشگوئی نکنید.»

⁷The seers shall be disappointed, and the diviners confounded. Yes, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer from God The Hebrew word rendered “God” is “Elohim.” .”

⁷فالبینان و آنهائی که آینده را پیشگوئی می کنند شرمنده و رسوا می شوند و از خجالت روی خود را می پوشانند.

⁸But as for me, I am full of power by the Spirit of Yahweh, and of judgment, and of might, to declare to Jacob his disobedience, and to Israel his sin.

⁸اما من سرشار از قدرت روح خداوند هستم و با جرأت می توانم یعقوب را به عصیان او و قوم اسرائیل را به گناهان شان متوجه سازم.

⁹Please listen to this, you heads of the house of Jacob, and rulers of the house of Israel, who abhor justice, and pervert all equity.

⁹پس ای پیشوایان خاندان یعقوب و رهبران قوم اسرائیل که از عدالت متنفرید و راستی را خطا جلوه می دهید، به حرف من گوش بدهید!

¹⁰They build up Zion with blood, and Jerusalem with iniquity.

¹⁰شما صَهیون را به خون و اورشلیم را بر ظلم و بی عدالتی بنا کرده اید.

¹¹Her leaders judge for bribes, and her priests teach for a price, and her prophets of it tell fortunes for money: yet they lean on Yahweh, and say, “Isn’t Yahweh in the midst of us? No disaster will come on us.”

¹¹حاکمان رشوت می خورند، کاهنان تا مزد نگیرند، تعلیم نمی دهند و انبیاء هم به رایگان نبوت نمی کنند. با اینهم این اشخاص ادعا دارند که چون خداوند با آن ها است، لهذا خطری متوجه آن ها نیست.پس بخاطر شما صَهیون مانند کشتزاری قلبه شده و اورشلیم به تودۀ خاک تبدیل می گردد و کوهی که عبادتگاه بر آن بنا یافته است، به جنگل مبدل می شود.

¹²Therefore Zion for your sake will be plowed like a field, and Jerusalem will become heaps of rubble, and the mountain of the temple like the high places of a forest.

¹²پس بخاطر شما صَهیون مانند کشتزاری قلبه شده و اورشلیم به تودۀ خاک تبدیل می گردد و کوهی که عبادتگاه بر آن بنا یافته است، به جنگل مبدل می شود.
