¹A reed like a rod was given to me. Someone said, “Rise, and measure God’s temple, and the altar, and those who worship in it.

¹به من چوب درازی که مانند چوب اندازه گیری بود، دادند و گفتند: «برو عبادتگاه و قربانگاه را اندازه بگیر و تعداد عبادت کنندگان را بشمار

²Leave out the court which is outside of the temple, and don’t measure it, for it has been given to the nations. They will tread the holy city under foot for forty-two months.

²ولی با حویلی خارج عبادتگاه کاری نداشته باش، آن را اندازه نگیر. زیرا به ملتهای غیر یهودی واگذار شده است و آنها به مدت چهل و دو ماه شهر مقدس را پایمال خواهند کرد.

³I will give power to my two witnesses, and they will prophesy one thousand two hundred sixty days, clothed in sackcloth.”

³من دو شاهد خود را مأمور خواهم ساخت که لباسی از پارچه های درشت پوشیده و در تمام آن یکهزار و دوصد و شصت روز پیشگویی کنند.»

⁴These are the two olive trees and the two lampstands, standing before the Lord of the earth.

⁴این دو نفر همان دو درخت زیتون و دو چراغی هستند که در پیشگاه خداوندِ زمین می ایستند.

⁵If anyone desires to harm them, fire proceeds out of their mouth and devours their enemies. If anyone desires to harm them, he must be killed in this way.

⁵اگر کسی بخواهد به آن ها آزاری برساند، از دهان آنها آتش بیرون می ریزد و دشمنان شان را می سوزاند، به این ترتیب هر که در پی آزار آن ها باشد، کشته می شود.

⁶These have the power to shut up the sky, that it may not rain during the days of their prophecy. They have power over the waters, to turn them into blood, and to strike the earth with every plague, as often as they desire.

⁶این دو نفر قدرت بستن آسمان را دارند، به طوری که در مدت پیشگویی آنها باران نبارد و قدرت دارند که چشمه های آب را به خون مبدل سازند و زمین را هر زمان که بخواهند به بلایی دچار سازند.

⁷When they have finished their testimony, the beast that comes up out of the abyss will make war with them, and overcome them, and kill them.

⁷و آن زمان که شهادت خود را به پایان رسانند، آن حیوان وحشی که از چاه بی انتها می آید با آنها جنگ خواهد کرد. آنها را شکست خواهد داد و به قتل خواهد رسانید.

⁸Their dead bodies will be in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.

⁸اجساد شان در جادۀ عمومی آن شهر بزرگ که به کنایه سدوم یا مصر نامیده شده است، خواهند افتاد. همان جایی که خداوند آن ها نیز مصلوب شد.

⁹From among the peoples, tribes, languages, and nations people will look at their dead bodies for three and a half days, and will not allow their dead bodies to be laid in a tomb.

⁹به مدت سه و نیم روز مردمان از هر امت و قبیله، از هر زبان و ملت بر اجساد آنها خواهند نگریست و نخواهند گذاشت آنها دفن شوند.

¹⁰Those who dwell on the earth rejoice over them, and they will be glad. They will give gifts to one another, because these two prophets tormented those who dwell on the earth.

¹⁰به خاطر مرگ این دو نفر تمام مردم روی زمین خوشحال خواهند شد. جشن خواهند گرفت و به یکدیگر هدیه خواهند داد، زیرا این دو نبی تمام مردم روی زمین را معذب می ساختند.

¹¹After the three and a half days, the breath of life from God entered into them, and they stood on their feet. Great fear fell on those who saw them.

¹¹در پایان این سه و نیم روز، روح زندگی از جانب خدا بر آنها وارد آمد و آن ها به روی پای خود ایستادند و تمام کسانی که این واقعه را دیدند، سخت وحشت کردند.

¹²I heard a loud voice from heaven saying to them, “Come up here!” They went up into heaven in the cloud, and their enemies saw them.

¹²آنگاه آن دو، صدای بلندی از آسمان شنیدند که به آنها می گفت: «به اینجا بیائید.» و آنها پیش چشم دشمنان خود در ابری به آسمان رفتند.

¹³In that day there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell. Seven thousand people were killed in the earthquake, and the rest were terrified, and gave glory to the God of heaven.

¹³در همان لحظه زلزلۀ شدیدی رخ داد و یک دهم شهر فرو ریخت و هفت هزار نفر در آن زلزله کشته شدند و آن ها که زنده ماندند، وحشت کردند و خدای آسمان را تمجید نمودند.

¹⁴The second woe is past. Behold, the third woe comes quickly.

¹⁴بلای دوم به پایان رسید و بلای سوم بزودی می رسد.

¹⁵The seventh angel sounded, and great voices in heaven followed, saying, “The kingdom of the world has become the Kingdom of our Lord, and of his Christ. He will reign forever and ever!”

¹⁵آنگاه فرشتۀ هفتم در شیپور خود دمید و صداهای بلندی از آسمان بگوش رسید که می گفتند: «فرمانروایی دنیا به خداوند ما و مسیح او رسیده و او تا به ابد حکومت خواهد کرد.»

¹⁶The twenty-four elders, who sit on their thrones before God’s throne, fell on their faces and worshiped God,

¹⁶و آن بیست و چهار پیر که در برابر خدا روی تخت های شان نشسته بودند، به روی خود افتاده، خدا را عبادت کردند و می گفتند:

¹⁷saying: “We give you thanks, Lord God, the Almighty, the one who is and who was TR adds “and who is coming” ; because you have taken your great power, and reigned.

¹⁷«تو را سپاس می گوئیم ای خداوند، خدا، تویی قادر مطلق که هستی و بودی. زیرا تو قدرت بسیار عظیم خود را به دست گرفته و سلطنت را آغاز کرده ای.

¹⁸The nations were angry, and your wrath came, as did the time for the dead to be judged, and to give your bondservants the prophets, their reward, as well as to the saints, and those who fear your name, to the small and the great; and to destroy those who destroy the earth.”

¹⁸ملت ها خشمگین شدند، اینک روز خشم تو رسیده است، زمان آن رسیده است که مردگان داوری شوند، اکنون زمان اجر گرفتن خادمان تو یعنی انبیاء می باشد، و هم مقدسان و هم ترسندگان نام تو، چه کوچک و چه بزرگ. زمان آن رسیده است تا تباه کنندگان زمین را از بین ببری.»آنگاه عبادتگاهِ خدا در آسمان باز شد و در داخل عبادتگاه، صندوق پیمانِ او دیده شد، رعد و برق و زلزله پدید آمد، صداهای ترسناک شنیده شد و ژالۀ شدید بارید.

¹⁹God’s temple that is in heaven was opened, and the ark of the Lord’s covenant was seen in his temple. Lightnings, sounds, thunders, an earthquake, and great hail followed.

¹⁹آنگاه عبادتگاهِ خدا در آسمان باز شد و در داخل عبادتگاه، صندوق پیمانِ او دیده شد، رعد و برق و زلزله پدید آمد، صداهای ترسناک شنیده شد و ژالۀ شدید بارید.
