¹There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. NU omits “who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit”

¹پس دیگر برای کسانی که در پیوستگی با مسیح عیسی بسر می برند هیچ محکومیتی وجود ندارد،

²For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus made me free from the law of sin and of death.

²زیرا قانون زندگی بخش روح القدس که در مسیح عیسی یافت می شود، مرا از قانون گناه و مرگ آزاد کرده است.

³For what the law couldn’t do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God did, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh;

³آنچه را که شریعت به علت ضعف طبیعت نفسانی نتوانست انجام دهد، خدا انجام داد. او پسر خود را به صورت انسان جسمانی و گناهکار و برای آمرزش گناهان بشر فرستاد و به این وسیله گناه را در ذات انسانی محکوم ساخت.

⁴that the ordinance of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

⁴خدا چنین کرد تا احکام شریعت به وسیلۀ ما که گرفتار طبیعت نفسانی خود نیستیم، بلکه تابع روح خدا می باشیم، بجا آورده شود.

⁵For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.

⁵زیرا کسانی که مطابق خواهش های نفس زندگی می کنند، همیشه در فکر چیزهای نفسانی هستند. ولی کسانی که تابع روح خدا هستند، در فکر چیزهای روحانی می باشند.

⁶For the mind of the flesh is death, but the mind of the Spirit is life and peace;

⁶عاقبت دلبستگی به امور نفسانی، مرگ و عاقبت پیروی از امور روحانی، زندگی و سلامتی است.

⁷because the mind of the flesh is hostile towards God; for it is not subject to God’s law, neither indeed can it be.

⁷زیرا دلبستگی به امور نفسانی دشمنی با خداست. چنین شخصی از شریعت خدا اطاعت نمی کند و در واقع نمی تواند اطاعت نماید.

⁸Those who are in the flesh can’t please God.

⁸بنابراین انسان های نفسانی نمی توانند خدا را خشنود سازند.

⁹But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if it is so that the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if any man doesn’t have the Spirit of Christ, he is not his.

⁹اگر روح خدا در وجود شما ساکن است شما اشخاصی روحانی هستید، نه نفسانی. هرکه روح مسیح را ندارد، از آنِ او نیست.

¹⁰If Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the spirit is alive because of righteousness.

¹⁰اما اگر مسیح در وجود شما ساکن است، حتی اگر بدن شما به علت گناه محکوم به مرگ باشد، روح خدا به شما زندگی می بخشد، چون شما عادل شمرده شده اید.

¹¹But if the Spirit of him who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.

¹¹اگر روح خدا که مسیح را پس از مرگ زنده گردانید، در وجود شما ساکن باشد، همان طور که او را پس از مرگ زنده گردانید، به وسیلۀ همان روح القدس که در شما ساکن است، به جسم فانی شما هم زندگی خواهد بخشید.

¹²So then, brothers, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

¹²پس ای برادران، ما مدیون هستیم، اما نه به طبیعت نفسانی خود و نه به پیروی از خواهش های نفس،

¹³For if you live after the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

¹³زیرا اگر مطابق طبیعت نفسانی خود زندگی کنید، خواهید مُرد. اما اگر به یاری روح خدا اعمال جسمانی را نابود سازید، زندگی خواهید کرد.

¹⁴For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are children of God.

¹⁴کسانی که به وسیلۀ روح خدا هدایت می شوند، فرزندان خدا هستند.

¹⁵For you didn’t receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry, “Abba Abba is an Aramaic word for father or daddy, often used affectionately and respectfully in prayer to our Father in heaven. ! Father!”

¹⁵زیرا آن روحی که خدا به شما داده است، شما را برده نمی سازد و موجب ترس نمی شود، بلکه آن روح شما را فرزندان خدا می گرداند و ما به کمک این روح در پیشگاه خدا فریاد می کنیم: «اَبا، ای پدر.»

¹⁶The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God;

¹⁶روح خدا با روح ما با هم شهادت می دهند که ما فرزندان خدا هستیم

¹⁷and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint heirs with Christ; if indeed we suffer with him, that we may also be glorified with him.

¹⁷و اگر فرزندان او هستیم، در آن صورت، وارث ـ یعنی وارث خدا و هم وارث با مسیح ـ نیز هستیم و اگر ما در رنج مسیح شریک هستیم، در جلال او نیز شریک می شویم.

¹⁸For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which will be revealed toward us.

¹⁸به عقیدۀ من درد و رنج کنونی ما ابداً با جلالی که در آینده برای ما ظاهر می شود، قابل مقایسه نیست.

¹⁹For the creation waits with eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.

¹⁹تمامی خلقت با اشتیاق فراوان در انتظار ظهور فرزندان خدا به سر می برد.

²⁰For the creation was subjected to vanity, not of its own will, but because of him who subjected it, in hope

²⁰زیرا خلقت نه به ارادۀ خود بلکه به خواست خدا دچار بیهودگی شد، تا این امید باقی بماند

²¹that the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of decay into the liberty of the glory of the children of God.

²¹که روزی خود آفرینش از قید فساد آزاد گردد و در آزادی پُر شکوه فرزندان خدا حصه بگیرد.

²²For we know that the whole creation groans and travails in pain together until now.

²²زیرا می دانیم که تمامی آفرینش تا زمان حاضر از دردی مانند درد زایمان نالیده است.

²³Not only so, but ourselves also, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for adoption, the redemption of our body.

²³نه تنها خلقت، بلکه ما نیز که روح خدا را به عنوان اولین نمونۀ عطایای خدا دریافت کرده ایم، در درون خود ناله می کنیم و در انتظار آن هستیم که خدا ما را فرزندان خود بگرداند و کُل بدن ما را آزاد سازد،

²⁴For we were saved in hope, but hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for that which he sees?

²⁴زیرا با چنین امیدی بود که ما نجات یافتیم؛ اما امیدی که برآورده شده باشد، دیگر امید نیست. چه کسی در انتظار چیزی است که قبلاً آن را یافته است؟

²⁵But if we hope for that which we don’t see, we wait for it with patience.

²⁵اما اگر در امید چیزی هستیم که هنوز نیافته ایم با صبر منتظر آن می باشیم.

²⁶In the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don’t know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can’t be uttered.

²⁶به همین طریق روح خدا در عین ضعف و ناتوانی، ما را یاری می کند؛ زیرا ما هنوز نمی دانیم چگونه دعا کنیم. اما خود روح خدا با ناله هائی که نمی توان بیان کرد، برای ما شفاعت می کند

²⁷He who searches the hearts knows what is on the Spirit’s mind, because he makes intercession for the saints according to God.

²⁷و آنکه قلب های انسان را جستجو می کند، از نیت روح آگاه است؛ چون روح القدس مطابق خواست خدا برای ایمانداران شفاعت می کند.

²⁸We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.

²⁸ما می دانیم همه چیز برای خیریت آنانی که خدا را دوست دارند و به حسب ارادۀ او خواسته شده اند، با هم درکارند،

²⁹For whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. The word for “brothers” here and where context allows may also be correctly translated “brothers and sisters” or “siblings.”

²⁹زیرا خدا آنانی را که از ابتدا می شناخت از پیش برگزید تا به شکل پسر او درآیند و تا پسر، نخستین برادر در میان برادران بسیار باشد.

³⁰Whom he predestined, those he also called. Whom he called, those he also justified. Whom he justified, those he also glorified.

³⁰او کسانی را که قبلاً برگزیده بود به سوی خود خوانده است، و خوانده شدگان را عادل شمرد و عادلان را نیز جاه و جلال بخشید.

³¹What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

³¹پس در برابر این چیزها چه بگوئیم؟ اگر خدا پشتیبان ماست، کیست که بر ضد ما باشد؟

³²He who didn’t spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how would he not also with him freely give us all things?

³²آیا خدایی که پسر خود را دریغ نداشت، بلکه او را در راه همۀ ما تسلیم کرد، با بخشیدن او همه چیز را با سخاوتمندی به ما نمی بخشد؟

³³Who could bring a charge against God’s chosen ones? It is God who justifies.

³³چه کسی برگزیدگان خدا را ملامت خواهد کرد؟ خدا آنها را تبرئه می نماید!

³⁴Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, yes rather, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.

³⁴پس کیست که بتواند آنها را محکوم سازد؟ مسیح عیسی کسی است که مُرد و حتی دوباره زنده شد و اکنون در دست راست خدا از ما شفاعت می کند!

³⁵Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

³⁵پس چه کسی می تواند ما را از محبت مسیح جدا سازد؟ آیا مصیبت یا پریشانی یا زجر یا گرسنگی یا تهیدستی یا خطر و یا شمشیر قادر است ما را از مسیح جدا سازد؟

³⁶Even as it is written, “For your sake we are killed all day long. We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” Psalm 44:22

³⁶چنانکه نوشته شده است: «به خاطر تو در تمام روز در خطر مرگ هستیم و با ما مانند گوسفندانی که به کشتارگاه می روند رفتار می شود.»

³⁷No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

³⁷با وجود همۀ این چیزها، به وسیلۀ او که ما را دوست داشت پیروزی ما کامل می شود.

³⁸For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,

³⁸زیرا یقین دارم که نه موت و نه زندگی، نه فرشتگان و نه نیروها و قدرت های فوق بشری، نه پیشامدهای امروز و نه وقایع فردا، نه قدرت های آسمانیو نه بلندی و نه پستی و خلاصه هیچ چیز در تمام آفرینش نمی تواند ما را از محبتی که خدا در خداوند ما عیسی مسیح آشکار نموده جدا سازد.

³⁹nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

³⁹و نه بلندی و نه پستی و خلاصه هیچ چیز در تمام آفرینش نمی تواند ما را از محبتی که خدا در خداوند ما عیسی مسیح آشکار نموده جدا سازد.
