¹The priests the Levites, all the tribe of Levi, shall have no portion nor inheritance with Israel: they shall eat the offerings of Yahweh made by fire, and his inheritance.

¹"Seluruh suku Lewi diberi tugas imam, karena itu tak boleh menerima bagian tanah di Israel. Mereka harus hidup dari persembahan-persembaha dan kurban-kurban lainnya yang diberikan TUHAN.

²They shall have no inheritance among their brothers: Yahweh is their inheritance, as he has spoken to them.

²Mereka tak boleh memiliki tanah seperti suku-suku lainnya, sebab Tuhanlah bagian warisan mereka, seperti yang dijanjikan TUHAN kepada mereka.

³This shall be the priests’ due from the people, from those who offer a sacrifice, whether it be ox or sheep, that they shall give to the priest the shoulder, and the two cheeks, and the maw.

³Apabila seseorang mempersembahkan kurban sapi atau domba, maka paha depan, rahang dan perut ternak itu harus diserahkan kepada imam-imam untuk bagian mereka.

⁴The first fruits of your grain, of your new wine, and of your oil, and the first of the fleece of your sheep, you shall give him.

⁴Hasil pertama dari gandum, air anggur, minyak zaitun dan bulu domba, juga untuk bagian mereka.

⁵For Yahweh your God has chosen him out of all your tribes, to stand to minister in the name of Yahweh, him and his sons for ever.

⁵Dari semua suku Israel, TUHAN Allahmu telah memilih suku Lewi menjadi imam untuk selama-lamanya.

⁶If a Levite comes from any of your gates out of all Israel, where he lives as a foreigner, and comes with all the desire of his soul to the place which Yahweh shall choose;

⁶Apabila seorang Lewi yang berasal dari kota mana pun di Israel datang ke tempat yang dipilih TUHAN dan mau tinggal di situ,

⁷then he shall minister in the name of Yahweh his God, as all his brothers the Levites do, who stand there before Yahweh.

⁷ia boleh melayani TUHAN Allahnya sebagai imam seperti orang-orang Lewi lain yang bertugas di tempat itu.

⁸They shall have like portions to eat, besides that which comes of the sale of his patrimony.

⁸Ia harus menerima makanan yang sama banyaknya seperti imam-imam lain; apa yang diperolehnya dari keluarganya, juga untuk dia."

⁹When you have come into the land which Yahweh your God gives you, you shall not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.

⁹"Apabila kamu sudah masuk ke negeri yang diberikan TUHAN Allahmu kepadamu, janganlah meniru kejahatan yang dilakukan bangsa-bangsa yang ada di situ.

¹⁰There shall not be found with you anyone who makes his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, one who uses divination, one who practices sorcery, or an enchanter, or a sorcerer,

¹⁰Di antara kamu janganlah ada yang mempersembahkan anak-anaknya sebagai kurban bakaran. Dan janganlah seorang pun menjadi tukang ramal, mencari pertanda-pertanda, memakai jampi-jampi atau

¹¹or a charmer, or a consulter with a familiar spirit, or a wizard, or a necromancer.

¹¹ilmu sihir, atau mengadakan hubungan dengan roh-roh orang mati.

¹²For whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh: and because of these abominations Yahweh your God does drive them out from before you.

¹²Orang yang melakukan perbuatan-perbuatan jahat itu dibenci oleh TUHAN Allahmu, dan itulah sebabnya bangsa-bangsa itu disingkirkan-Nya dari hadapanmu.

¹³You shall be perfect with Yahweh your God.

¹³Jadi hendaklah kamu mengabdi kepada TUHAN Allahmu dengan sepenuh hatimu."

¹⁴For these nations, that you shall dispossess, listen to those who practice sorcery, and to diviners; but as for you, Yahweh your God has not allowed you so to do.

¹⁴Kemudian Musa berkata, "Bangsa-bangsa di negeri yang akan kamu diami itu mengikuti nasihat tukang-tukang ramal dan mencari pertanda-pertanda. Tetapi TUHAN Allahmu tidak mengizinkan kamu melakukan hal itu.

¹⁵Yahweh your God will raise up to you a prophet from the midst of you, of your brothers, like me. You shall listen to him.

¹⁵Sebaliknya dari bangsa kita sendiri Ia akan mengutus kepadamu seorang nabi seperti saya ini, dan kamu harus taat kepadanya.

¹⁶This is according to all that you desired of Yahweh your God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, “Let me not hear again the voice of Yahweh my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I not die.”

¹⁶Pada hari kamu berkumpul di Gunung Sinai, kamu mohon supaya kamu jangan lagi mendengar TUHAN Allahmu berbicara dan jangan lagi melihat kehadiran-Nya dalam api yang bernyala-nyala, sebab kamu takut mati.

¹⁷Yahweh said to me, “They have well said that which they have spoken.

¹⁷Karena itu TUHAN berkata kepada saya, 'Permintaan mereka itu bijaksana.

¹⁸I will raise them up a prophet from among their brothers, like you; and I will put my words in his mouth, and he shall speak to them all that I shall command him.

¹⁸Dari bangsa mereka sendiri Aku akan mengutus kepada mereka seorang nabi seperti engkau. Aku akan mengatakan kepadanya apa yang harus dikatakannya, lalu ia akan menyampaikan kepada bangsa itu segala yang Kuperintahkan.

¹⁹It shall happen, that whoever will not listen to my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him.

¹⁹Ia akan berbicara atas nama-Ku, dan Aku akan menghukum siapa saja yang tidak mau mendengarkan dia.

²⁰But the prophet, who shall speak a word presumptuously in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or who shall speak in the name of other gods, that same prophet shall die.”

²⁰Tetapi kalau seorang nabi berani menyampaikan suatu pesan atas nama-Ku padahal Aku tidak menyuruh dia berbuat begitu, ia harus mati; begitu juga setiap nabi yang berbicara atas nama ilah-ilah lain harus mati.'

²¹If you say in your heart, “How shall we know the word which Yahweh has not spoken?”

²¹Mungkin kamu bertanya dalam hati, 'Bagaimana kami tahu apakah pesan seorang nabi itu berasal dari TUHAN atau tidak?'

²²when a prophet speaks in the name of Yahweh, if the thing doesn’t follow, nor happen, that is the thing which Yahweh has not spoken: the prophet has spoken it presumptuously, you shall not be afraid of him.

²²Kalau seorang nabi berbicara atas nama TUHAN, tetapi apa yang dikatakannya itu tidak terjadi, maka ramalan itu bukan dari TUHAN. Nabi itu berbicara atas namanya sendiri dan kamu tak usah takut kepadanya."
