1Give thanks to Yahweh, “Yahweh” is God’s proper Name, sometimes rendered “LORD” (all caps) in other translations. for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever.
1「主に感謝せよ、主は恵みふかく、そのいつくしみはとこしえに絶えることがない」と、
2Let the redeemed by Yahweh say so, whom he has redeemed from the hand of the adversary,
2主にあがなわれた者は言え。主は彼らを悩みからあがない、
3And gathered out of the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south.
3もろもろの国から、東、西、北、南から彼らを集められた。
4They wandered in the wilderness in a desert way. They found no city to live in.
4彼らは人なき荒野にさまよい、住むべき町にいたる道を見いださなかった。
5Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.
5彼らは飢え、またかわき、その魂は彼らのうちに衰えた。
6Then they cried to Yahweh in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses,
6彼らはその悩みのうちに主に呼ばわったので、主は彼らをその悩みから助け出し、
7he led them also by a straight way, that they might go to a city to live in.
7住むべき町に行き着くまで、まっすぐな道に導かれた。
8Let them praise Yahweh for his loving kindness, for his wonderful works to the children of men!
8どうか、彼らが主のいつくしみと、人の子らになされたくすしきみわざとのために、主に感謝するように。
9For he satisfies the longing soul. He fills the hungry soul with good.
9主はかわいた魂を満ち足らせ、飢えた魂を良き物で満たされるからである。
10Some sat in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron,
10暗黒と深いやみの中にいる者、苦しみと、くろがねに縛られた者、
11because they rebelled against the words of God The Hebrew word rendered “God” is “Elohim.” , and condemned the counsel of the Most High.
11彼らは神の言葉にそむき、いと高き者の勧めを軽んじたので、
12Therefore he brought down their heart with labor. They fell down, and there was none to help.
12主は重い労働をもって彼らの心を低くされた。彼らはつまずき倒れても、助ける者がなかった。
13Then they cried to Yahweh in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses.
13彼らはその悩みのうちに主に呼ばわったので、主は彼らをその悩みから救い、
14He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their bonds in sunder.
14暗黒と深いやみから彼らを導き出して、そのかせをこわされた。
15Let them praise Yahweh for his loving kindness, for his wonderful works to the children of men!
15どうか、彼らが主のいつくしみと、人の子らになされたくすしきみわざとのために、主に感謝するように。
16For he has broken the gates of brass, and cut through bars of iron.
16主は青銅のとびらをこわし、鉄の貫の木を断ち切られたからである。
17Fools are afflicted because of their disobedience, and because of their iniquities.
17ある者はその罪に汚れた行いによって病み、その不義のゆえに悩んだ。
18Their soul abhors all kinds of food. They draw near to the gates of death.
18彼らはすべての食物をきらって、死の門に近づいた。
19Then they cry to Yahweh in their trouble, he saves them out of their distresses.
19彼らはその悩みのうちに主に呼ばわったので、主は彼らをその悩みから救い、
20He sends his word, and heals them, and delivers them from their graves.
20そのみ言葉をつかわして、彼らをいやし、彼らを滅びから助け出された。
21Let them praise Yahweh for his loving kindness, for his wonderful works to the children of men!
21どうか、彼らが主のいつくしみと、人の子らになされたくすしきみわざとのために、主に感謝するように。
22Let them offer the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with singing.
22彼らが感謝のいけにえをささげ、喜びの歌をもって、そのみわざを言いあらわすように。
23Those who go down to the sea in ships, who do business in great waters;
23舟で海にくだり、大海で商売をする者は、
24These see Yahweh’s works, and his wonders in the deep.
24主のみわざを見、また深い所でそのくすしきみわざを見た。
25For he commands, and raises the stormy wind, which lifts up its waves.
25主が命じられると暴風が起って、海の波をあげた。
26They mount up to the sky; they go down again to the depths. Their soul melts away because of trouble.
26彼らは天にのぼり、淵にくだり、悩みによってその勇気は溶け去り、
27They reel back and forth, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits’ end.
27酔った人のようによろめき、よろめいて途方にくれる。
28Then they cry to Yahweh in their trouble, and he brings them out of their distress.
28彼らはその悩みのうちに主に呼ばわったので、主は彼らをその悩みから救い出された。
29He makes the storm a calm, so that its waves are still.
29主があらしを静められると、海の波は穏やかになった。
30Then they are glad because it is calm, so he brings them to their desired haven.
30こうして彼らは波の静まったのを喜び、主は彼らをその望む港へ導かれた。
31Let them praise Yahweh for his loving kindness, for his wonderful works for the children of men!
31どうか、彼らが主のいつくしみと、人の子らになされたくすしきみわざとのために、主に感謝するように。
32Let them exalt him also in the assembly of the people, and praise him in the seat of the elders.
32彼らが民の集会で主をあがめ、長老の会合で主をほめたたえるように。
33He turns rivers into a desert, water springs into a thirsty ground,
33主は川を野に変らせ、泉をかわいた地に変らせ、
34and a fruitful land into a salt waste, for the wickedness of those who dwell in it.
34肥えた地をそれに住む者の悪のゆえに塩地に変らせられる。
35He turns a desert into a pool of water, and a dry land into water springs.
35主は野を池に変らせ、かわいた地を泉に変らせ、
36There he makes the hungry live, that they may prepare a city to live in,
36飢えた者をそこに住まわせられる。こうして彼らはその住むべき町を建て、
37sow fields, plant vineyards, and reap the fruits of increase.
37畑に種をまき、ぶどう畑を設けて多くの収穫を得た。
38He blesses them also, so that they are multiplied greatly. He doesn’t allow their livestock to decrease.
38主が彼らを祝福されたので彼らは大いにふえ、その家畜の減るのをゆるされなかった。
39Again, they are diminished and bowed down through oppression, trouble, and sorrow.
39彼らがしえたげと、悩みと、悲しみとによって減り、かつ卑しめられたとき、
40He pours contempt on princes, and causes them to wander in a trackless waste.
40主はもろもろの君に侮りをそそぎ、道なき荒れ地にさまよわせられた。
41Yet he lifts the needy out of their affliction, and increases their families like a flock.
41しかし主は貧しい者を悩みのうちからあげて、その家族を羊の群れのようにされた。
42The upright will see it, and be glad. All the wicked will shut their mouths.
42正しい者はこれを見て喜び、もろもろの不義はその口を閉じた。すべて賢い者はこれらの事に心をよせ、主のいつくしみをさとるようにせよ。
43Whoever is wise will pay attention to these things. They will consider the loving kindnesses of Yahweh.
