¹Why do the nations rage, and the peoples plot a vain thing?

¹なにゆえ、もろもろの国びとは騒ぎたち、もろもろの民はむなしい事をたくらむのか。

²The kings of the earth take a stand, and the rulers take counsel together, against Yahweh, and against his Anointed, The word “Anointed” is the same as the word for “Messiah” or “Christ” saying,

²地のもろもろの王は立ち構え、もろもろのつかさはともに、はかり、主とその油そそがれた者とに逆らって言う、

³“Let’s break their bonds apart, and cast their cords from us.”

³「われらは彼らのかせをこわし、彼らのきずなを解き捨てるであろう」と。

⁴He who sits in the heavens will laugh. The Lord The word translated “Lord” is “Adonai.” will have them in derision.

⁴天に座する者は笑い、主は彼らをあざけられるであろう。

⁵Then he will speak to them in his anger, and terrify them in his wrath:

⁵そして主は憤りをもって彼らに語り、激しい怒りをもって彼らを恐れ惑わせて言われる、

⁶「わたしはわが王を聖なる山シオンに立てた」と。

⁷I will tell of the decree. Yahweh said to me, “You are my son. Today I have become your father.

⁷わたしは主の詔をのべよう。主はわたしに言われた、「おまえはわたしの子だ。きょう、わたしはおまえを生んだ。

⁸Ask of me, and I will give the nations for your inheritance, the uttermost parts of the earth for your possession.

⁸わたしに求めよ、わたしはもろもろの国を嗣業としておまえに与え、地のはてまでもおまえの所有として与える。

⁹You shall break them with a rod of iron. You shall dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”

⁹おまえは鉄のつえをもって彼らを打ち破り、陶工の作る器物のように彼らを打ち砕くであろう」と。

¹⁰Now therefore be wise, you kings. Be instructed, you judges of the earth.

¹⁰それゆえ、もろもろの王よ、賢くあれ、地のつかさらよ、戒めをうけよ。

¹¹Serve Yahweh with fear, and rejoice with trembling.

¹¹恐れをもって主に仕え、おののきをもってその足に口づけせよ。さもないと主は怒って、あなたがたを道で滅ぼされるであろう、その憤りがすみやかに燃えるからである。すべて主に寄り頼む者はさいわいである。

¹²Give sincere homage to the Son or, Kiss the son , lest he be angry, and you perish in the way, for his wrath will soon be kindled. Blessed are all those who take refuge in him.

¹²その足に口づけせよ。さもないと主は怒って、あなたがたを道で滅ぼされるであろう、その憤りがすみやかに燃えるからである。すべて主に寄り頼む者はさいわいである。
