Kabyle: New Testament

1 Corinthians

10

1Now I would not have you ignorant, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
2Țwaɣeḍsen meṛṛa di tagut-nni akk-d lebḥeṛ mi ddan d Sidna Musa,
2and were all baptized into Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
3ččan meṛṛa seg yiwen lqut n Sidi Ṛebbi,
3and all ate the same spiritual food;
4swan meṛṛa si lɛinseṛ n Sidi Ṛebbi i d-iteffɣen seg wezṛu iteddun yid-sen ; azṛu-agi, d Lmasiḥ.
4and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of a spiritual rock that followed them, and the rock was Christ.
5Ɣas akken, aṭas seg-sen ur neɛǧib ara i Sidi Ṛebbi ; daymi i ten-tesseɣli lmut yiwen yiwen mi teddun deg unezṛuf.
5However with most of them, God was not well pleased, for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
6Ayen akken yedṛan yid-sen yeqqim-ed d lemtel i nukni, iwakken ur neṭṭamaɛ ara ayen n diri am akken i t-ṭṭamaɛen nutni.
6Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
7Neither be idolaters, as some of them were. As it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.”
8Ur ilaq ara daɣen a nxeddem leɛṛuṛ akken xeddmen kra seg-sen ; daymi deg yiwen n wass, lmut tečča tlata uɛecrin alef deg-sen.
8Neither let us commit sexual immorality, as some of them committed, and in one day twenty-three thousand fell.
9Ur ilaq ara a njeṛṛeb Sidi Ṛebbi akken i xedmen kra seg-sen, dɣa qqsen-ten izerman mmuten.
9Neither let us test the Lord, as some of them tested, and perished by the serpents.
10Ur ilaq ara daɣen aț-țesmermugem ɣef wiyaḍ akken i smermugen kra deg-sen armi i ten-issenger lmelk n lmut.
10Neither grumble, as some of them also grumbled, and perished by the destroyer.
11Timsalin-agi akk i sen-yedṛan, qqiment-ed d lemtel, uran-tent di tektabin, iwakken a nelmed nukni ițɛicin di taggara n lweqt.
11Now all these things happened to them by way of example, and they were written for our admonition, on whom the ends of the ages have come.
12Ihi win iḥesben iman-is ibedd, ad iɛass iman-is ur iɣelli ara !
12Therefore let him who thinks he stands be careful that he doesn’t fall.
13Ayen akk s wayes i tețwajeṛbem, d ayen iwumi yezmer wemdan. Sidi Ṛebbi d bab n lḥeqq, ur yețɛemmid ara aț-țenɛețțabem sennig n tezmert nwen ; lameɛna m'ara tețwajeṛbem, a wen-d-yefk tazmert s wayes ara tṣebṛem d wamek ara teffɣem si tegniț n leɛtab.
13No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.
14A wid eɛzizen fell-i, xḍut i weɛbad n ssadaț.
14Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.
15Țmeslayeɣ awen-d am akken țmeslayen i wid ifehmen ; meyyzet kunwi s yiman nwen ɣef wayen i d-qqaṛeɣ.
15I speak as to wise men. Judge what I say.
16Taqbuct n lbaṛaka i ɣef nețḥemmid Sidi Ṛebbi, eɛni ur aɣ-tecrik ara d idammen n Lmasiḥ ? Neɣ aɣṛum i nbeṭṭu, ur aɣ-yecrik ara d lǧețța n Lmasiḥ ?
16The cup of blessing which we bless, isn’t it a sharing of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, isn’t it a sharing of the body of Christ?
17Imi yiwen n weɣṛum kan i gellan, ula d nukni nuɣal d yiwet n lǧețța ɣas akken deg waṭas yid-nneɣ i nella, axaṭer ntețț meṛṛa seg yiwen n weɣṛum.
17Because there is one loaf of bread, we, who are many, are one body; for we all partake of the one loaf of bread.
18Walit at Isṛail : wid itețțen seg weksum n iseflawen s weɛbad-nsen, eɛni ur criken ara d wemkan-nni anda i zellun iseflawen ?
18Consider Israel according to the flesh. Don’t those who eat the sacrifices participate in the altar?
19Eɛni bɣiɣ a d-iniɣ belli asfel nni i zellun i ssadaț neɣ ssadaț-nni i țɛebbiden, sɛan lqima ? Xaṭi !
19What am I saying then? That a thing sacrificed to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything?
20Meɛna ayen akka i zellun, zellun-t i leǧnun mačči i Ṛebbi ; nekk ur bɣiɣ ara aț-țcerkem akk-d leǧnun.
20But I say that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons, and not to God, and I don’t desire that you would have fellowship with demons.
21Ur tezmirem ara aț-țeswem si teqbuct n Sidi Ṛebbi ma yella tețțessem si țeqbuct n leǧnun ; ur tezmirem ara daɣen aț-țeččem seg weɣṛum n Sidi Ṛebbi ma yella tețțețțem seg weɣṛum n leǧnun.
21You can’t both drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You can’t both partake of the table of the Lord, and of the table of demons.
22Eɛni nebɣa a nejreḥ ul n Sidi Ṛebbi a d-neskker tismin-is ? Tɣilem tazmert-nneɣ teɣleb tazmert-is ?
22Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he?
23Llan wid i d-iqqaṛen : kullec d leḥlal fell-aɣ ; ț-țideț, lameɛna ur aɣ-yenfiɛ ara kullec. Kullec yețțusemmeḥ-aɣ a t-nexdem, meɛna mačči d kullec i ɣ-yesnernayen di liman.
23“All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are profitable. “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things build up.
24Ur țnadit ara ɣef nnfeɛ-nwen kan kunwi, meɛna nadit ɣef nnfeɛ n wiyaḍ.
24Let no one seek his own, but each one his neighbor’s good.
25Tzemrem aț-țeččem kra n wayen i gețnuzun di ssuq mbla asteqsi, mbla ma tḥebbṛem,
25Whatever is sold in the butcher shop, eat, asking no question for the sake of conscience,
26axaṭer ddunit d wayen akk yellan deg-s d ayla n Sidi Ṛebbi.
26for “the earth is the Lord’s, and its fullness.”
27Ma yeɛṛeḍ-ikkun walebɛad ur numin ara s Lmasiḥ, ma tṛuḥem, ččet s neyya mbla asteqsi seg wayen akk ara wen-d-issers.
27But if one of those who don’t believe invites you to a meal, and you are inclined to go, eat whatever is set before you, asking no questions for the sake of conscience.
28Lameɛna ma yella win i wen-d yennan : ayagi yețțunefk d asfel i ssadaț, ur tețțet ara imi i kkun-id ixebbeṛ iwakken ad yethedden wul nwen.
28But if anyone says to you, “This was offered to idols,” don’t eat it for the sake of the one who told you, and for the sake of conscience. For “the earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness.”
29Mačči ɣef neyya-nwen i d-nniɣ akka, lameɛna ɣef neyya n win i kkun-iɛerḍen. Ihi, acimi ara ǧǧeɣ wayeḍ ad idebbeṛ deg ixemmimen-iw ?
29Conscience, I say, not your own, but the other’s conscience. For why is my liberty judged by another conscience?
30Ma yella ḥemdeɣ Sidi Ṛebbi ɣef wayen i tețțeɣ, acimi ara ǧǧeɣ iman-iw ad wwten deg-i ɣef lqut i ɣef ḥemdeɣ Sidi Ṛebbi ?
30If I partake with thankfulness, why am I denounced for that for which I give thanks?
31Ama teččam neɣ teswam, neɣ kra n wayen ara txedmem, xedmet-eț i tmanegt n Sidi Ṛebbi.
31Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
32Ur țțilit ara d sebba n uɣelluy ama i wat Isṛail, ama i iyunaniyen, ama i tejmaɛt n Sidi Ṛebbi,
32Give no occasions for stumbling, either to Jews, or to Greeks, or to the assembly of God;
33am akken xeddmeɣ nekk, țnadiɣ a wen-ɛeǧbeɣ meṛṛa di kullec, ur țqellibeɣ ara ɣef nnfeɛ-inu, meɛna țqellibeɣ ɣef nnfeɛ n umur ameqqran deg-wen iwakken ad țwaselken.
33even as I also please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of the many, that they may be saved.
