1Forasmuch then as Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind; for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin;
1Am akken inneɛtab Lmasiḥ di lǧețța-s, kunwi daɣen ilaq-awen aț-țheggim iman-nwen ; axaṭer win i genneɛtaben di lǧețța-s iṭṭaxeṛ ɣef ddnub ;
2that you no longer should live the rest of your time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.
2iwakken ussan i s-d-iqqimen di tudert-is, ad iddu s lebɣi n Sidi Ṛebbi, mačči akken ibɣa nețța.
3For we have spent enough of our past time doing the desire of the Gentiles, and having walked in lewdness, lusts, drunken binges, orgies, carousings, and abominable idolatries.
3Beṛka-kkun tura ! Tellam tețțeddum d wid ijehlen, ur nessin Sidi Ṛebbi : tellam d isekṛanen, tețțeddum deg webrid n lefsad d zzhu, tɛebdem lemqamat, ulawen nwen ččuṛen d ṭṭmeɛ.
4They think it is strange that you don’t run with them into the same excess of riot, blaspheming:
4Tura wehmen imi teṭṭaxṛem fell-asen ur tețțeddum ara deg webrid nsen i gețțawin ɣer nnger, daymi i kkaten deg-wen.
5who will give account to him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.
5Lameɛna a ten-iḥaseb Sidi Ṛebbi, nețța yețḥasaben wid iddren d wid yemmuten.
6For to this end the Good News was preached even to the dead, that they might be judged indeed as men in the flesh, but live as to God in the spirit.
6S wakka, lexbaṛ n lxiṛ ițțubecceṛ ula i wid yemmuten iwakken ɣas țțuḥasben am imdanen n ddunit meṛṛa, ad idiren s Ṛṛuḥ iqedsen akken ibɣa Sidi Ṛebbi.
7But the end of all things is near. Therefore be of sound mind, self-controlled, and sober in prayer.
7Taggara n ddunit tețțeddu-d ! Ɣef wannect-a, sɛut leɛqel, ɛasset ɣef yiman-nwen iwakken aț-țizmirem aț-țeẓẓallem.
8And above all things be earnest in your love among yourselves, for love covers a multitude of sins.
8Lḥaǧa tamezwarut, myeḥmalet wway gar-awen seg wul, axaṭer leḥmala tețsamaḥ aṭas n ddnubat.
9Be hospitable to one another without grumbling.
9Țmesṭerḥabet wway gar-awen s wul iṣfan.
10As each has received a gift, employ it in serving one another, as good managers of the grace of God in its various forms.
10Mkul yiwen deg-wen d acu n tikci i s-d-ifka Sidi Ṛebbi, ihi sxedmet-eț iwakken ad sfaydin wiyaḍ seg-s.
11If anyone speaks, let it be as it were the very words of God. If anyone serves, let it be as of the strength which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
Amin !
12Beloved, don’t be astonished at the fiery trial which has come upon you, to test you, as though a strange thing happened to you.
12A wid eɛzizen ! Ur wehhmet ara ɣef wujeṛṛeb i d-iɣellin fell-awen am tmes, ur xellɛet ara, axaṭer ayagi ilaq a d-idṛu.
13But because you are partakers of Christ’s sufferings, rejoice; that at the revelation of his glory you also may rejoice with exceeding joy.
13Lameɛna feṛḥet imi i tețțekkim di leɛtab n Lmasiḥ, axaṭer asm' ara d-tban tmanegt-is, aț-țfeṛḥem yid-es lfeṛḥ d ameqqran.
14If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed; because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. On their part he is blasphemed, but on your part he is glorified.
14Amarezg-nwen ma yella iɛedda fell-awen lbaṭel imi tumnem s Lmasiḥ ! Axaṭer Ṛṛuḥ iqedsen iččuṛen ț-țamanegt, Ṛṛuḥ n Sidi Ṛebbi yella deg-wen !
15For let none of you suffer as a murderer, or a thief, or an evil doer, or a meddler in other men’s matters.
15Ḥadret a d-yili gar-awen win ara ițwaqehṛen axaṭer yenɣa tamgeṛṭ neɣ yuker, neɣ iger iman-is di lecɣal n wiyaḍ ;
16But if one of you suffers for being a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God in this matter.
16lameɛna ma yella ițwaqheṛ imi yumen s Lmasiḥ, ur ilaq ara ad inneḥcam ; ilaq ad iḥmed Sidi Ṛebbi ɣef yisem-agi.
17For the time has come for judgment to begin with the household of God. If it begins first with us, what will happen to those who don’t obey the Good News of God?
17Yewweḍ-ed lweqt n lḥisab n Sidi Ṛebbi ; yerna ad ibdu seg wat wexxam-is. Ihi ma yella seg-neɣ ara ibdu lḥisab, amek ara tili taggara n wid ur numin ara s lexbaṛ n lxiṛ n Sidi Ṛebbi ?
18“If it is hard for the righteous to be saved, what will happen to the ungodly and the sinner?” Proverbs 11:31
18Ma yella iwɛeṛ-as i uḥeqqi iwakken ad ițwasellek, amek ara tedṛu ihi d wemcum ur numin ara s Sidi Ṛebbi ?
19Therefore let them also who suffer according to the will of God in doing good entrust their souls to him, as to a faithful Creator.
19Ma yella s lebɣi n Sidi Ṛebbi i genneɛtab yiwen ; ilaq ad yerr kullec ger ifassen n win i t-id-ixelqen, ad ițkel fell-as, ad ikemmel di lecɣal-is ilhan.
