7

1For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of God Most High, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings and blessed him,
1Malxisadeq-agi yella d agellid n Salem, d lmuqeddem n Sidi Ṛebbi ɛlayen. D nețța i gemmugren Sidna Ibṛahim mi d-yuɣal seg umenɣi i deg yeɣleb igelliden nniḍen, iwakken a t-ibarek.
2to whom also Abraham divided a tenth part of all (being first, by interpretation, king of righteousness, and then also king of Salem, which is king of peace;
2I nețța i gefka Sidna Ibṛahim amur wis ɛecṛa n wayen akk i d-yerbeḥ seg umenɣi. Malxisadeq lmeɛna n yisem-is « agellid n lḥeqq », yețțusemma daɣen agellid n Salem yeɛni « agellid n lehna ».
3without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like the Son of God), remains a priest continually.
3Ur neẓri ara anwa i d baba-s neɣ anta i d yemma-s, ur nessin tajaddit-is, ur neẓri melmi i glul neɣ melmi i gemmut. Yella d lemtel n Mmi-s n Ṛebbi, yeqqim d lmuqeddem i dayem.
4Now consider how great this man was, to whom even Abraham, the patriarch, gave a tenth out of the best spoils.
4Walit acḥal meqqeṛ ccan n win iwumi yefka Sidna Ibṛahim leɛcuṛ seg wayen i d-yerbeḥ deg umenɣi.
5They indeed of the sons of Levi who receive the priest’s office have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law, that is, of their brothers, though these have come out of the body of Abraham,
5At Lewwi yellan d lmuqedmin, țțawin leɛcuṛ ɣef wat Isṛail yellan d atmaten-nsen akken i d-tenna ccariɛa, ɣas akken ula d nutni ț-țarwa n Sidna Ibṛahim.
6but he whose genealogy is not counted from them has accepted tithes from Abraham, and has blessed him who has the promises.
6Ma d Malxisadeq ur nelli ara n at Lewwi, yewwi leɛcuṛ s ɣuṛ Sidna Ibṛahim yerna iburek-it.
7But without any dispute the lesser is blessed by the greater.
7Mbla ccekk win yețbaraken yugar win yețțubarken.
8Here people who die receive tithes, but there one receives tithes of whom it is testified that he lives.
8At Lewwi-agi yețțawin leɛcuṛ, d imdanen yețmețțaten, ma d Malxisadeq d win i ɣef d-nnant tira iqedsen : Mazal idder.
9We can say that through Abraham even Levi, who receives tithes, has paid tithes,
9Nezmer ihi a d-nini belli Lewwi yețțawin leɛcuṛ ɣef wat Isṛail, yefka leɛcuṛ i Malxisadeq uqbel a d-ilal s ufus n Sidna Ibṛahim yellan si lejdud-is ;
10for he was yet in the body of his father when Melchizedek met him.
10axaṭer asmi yemmuger Malxisadeq Sidna Ibṛahim, Lewwi urɛad d-ilul.
11Now if there were perfection through the Levitical priesthood (for under it the people have received the law), what further need was there for another priest to arise after the order of Melchizedek, and not be called after the order of Aaron?
11Ccɣel i xeddmen lmuqedmin n at Lewwi, d lsas n ccariɛa yețțunefken i wegdud n wat Isṛail ; meɛna lemmer yennekmal ccɣel-agi, acuɣeṛ ihi ara d-yili lmuqeddem nniḍen am Malxisadeq mačči am Haṛun n at Lewwi ?
12For the priesthood being changed, there is of necessity a change made also in the law.
12Ma yella ccɣel i xeddmen lmuqeddmin n at Lewwi yuɣal di rrif, ihi ula d ccariɛa aț-țuɣal di rrif.
13For he of whom these things are said belongs to another tribe, from which no one has officiated at the altar.
13Axaṭer Ssid-nneɣ, ur d-yekki ara seg wedrum n at Lewwi, meɛna yekka-d seg wedrum nniḍen. Adrum-nni ulac deg-s ula d yiwen n lmuqeddem i gqedcen deg wudekkan n iseflawen.
14For it is evident that our Lord has sprung out of Judah, about which tribe Moses spoke nothing concerning priesthood.
14Ihi neẓra belli Ssid-nneɣ yeffeɣ ed seg wedrum n Yahuda, yerna Sidna Musa ur d-yenni ara a d-yeffeɣ lmuqeddem seg wedrum agi.
15This is yet more abundantly evident, if after the likeness of Melchizedek there arises another priest,
15Yella wayen i d-ibeggnen annect agi, axaṭer yeffeɣ-ed lmuqeddem nniḍen yecban Malxisadeq.
16who has been made, not after the law of a fleshly commandment, but after the power of an endless life:
16Mačči d ccariɛa i t-yerran d lmuqeddem meɛna yuɣal d lmuqeddem s tezmert n tudert ur nețfaka ;
17for it is testified, “You are a priest forever, according to the order of Melchizedek.”

18For there is an annulling of a foregoing commandment because of its weakness and uselessness
18Lameṛ aqdim yeɛnan lmuqedmin yețwabeddel, axaṭer ixuṣṣ yerna ur yenfiɛ ara.
19(for the law made nothing perfect), and a bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God.
19Ccariɛa n Musa ur tezmir ara a ɣ-terr d iḥeqqiyen zdat Sidi Ṛebbi, meɛna yella yiwen usirem s wayes ara nqeṛṛeb ɣuṛ-es ;
20Inasmuch as he was not made priest without the taking of an oath
20yerna ayagi yedṛa-d s limin n Sidi Ṛebbi, mačči am at Lewwi yuɣalen d lmuqedmin mbla limin ;
21(for they indeed have been made priests without an oath), but he with an oath by him that says of him, “The Lord swore and will not change his mind, ‘You are a priest forever, according to the order of Melchizedek.’”
21ma d Sidna Ɛisa yesbedd-it Sidi Ṛebbi s limin mi s-yenna : Sidi Ṛebbi yeggul ur yeḥnit aț-țiliḍ d lmuqeddem i dayem .
22By so much, Jesus has become the collateral of a better covenant.
22Ɛisa, d nețța i ɣ-iḍemnen lɛahed yifen amezwaru.
23Many, indeed, have been made priests, because they are hindered from continuing by death.
23Aṭas seg wat Lewwi i gellan d lmuqedmin axaṭer lmut ur ten-tețțaǧa ara ad dumen di ccɣel-nsen ;
24But he, because he lives forever, has his priesthood unchangeable.
24ma d Sidna Ɛisa, d win yețdumun, ur yuḥwaǧ ara a d-yeǧǧ lxedma-s n lmuqeddem i wayeḍ.
25Therefore he is also able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, seeing that he lives forever to make intercession for them.
25Daymi i gezmer ad isellek di mkul lweqt wid akk yețqeṛṛiben ɣer Ṛebbi s yisem-is, imi nețța yedder i dayem, ideɛɛu fell-asen ɣer Sidi Ṛebbi.
26For such a high priest was fitting for us: holy, guiltless, undefiled, separated from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;
26D wagi i d lmuqeddem ameqqran i ɣ-ilaqen, d imqeddes, d azedgan, ur yesɛi ara lɛib, yemxalaf d imdanen idenben yerna ițwarfed sennig igenwan.
27who doesn’t need, like those high priests, to offer up sacrifices daily, first for his own sins, and then for the sins of the people. For he did this once for all, when he offered up himself.
27Ur yeḥwaǧ ara ad yefk iseflawen am lmuqedmin nniḍen ɣef ddnubat-is neɣ ɣef wid n wegdud, lameɛna yefka iman-is d asfel yiwet n tikkelt kan ɣef ddemma n ddnubatnneɣ.
28For the law appoints men as high priests who have weakness, but the word of the oath which came after the law appoints a Son forever who has been perfected.
28Lmuqedmin imeqqranen i d tesbeddad ccariɛa, d irgazen ixuṣṣen di lǧehd, ma d win i gesbedd Sidi Ṛebbi s limin deffir ccariɛa, d Mmi-s i gessaweḍ ɣer tezmert tameqqrant i dayem.
