Kabyle: New Testament

James

4

1Where do wars and fightings among you come from? Don’t they come from your pleasures that war in your members?
1Seg uxemmem i tețxemmimem ɣef yiman-nwen kan i d-itekk umennuɣ akk-d imenɣi gar-awen.
2You lust, and don’t have. You kill, covet, and can’t obtain. You fight and make war. You don’t have, because you don’t ask.
2Tețmennim aṭas leḥwayeǧ lameɛna ur tezmirem ara tent-tesɛum ; tneqqem, tețțasmem ur d-tețțawim ayen tebɣam ; tețnaɣem yerna tețțemyenɣam, ur kkun-id-ițțaweḍ ara wayen tebɣam axaṭer ur tessuturem ara ɣer Sidi Ṛebbi.
3You ask, and don’t receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures.
3M'ara tessutrem kra ur a wen-d- țunefk ara, axaṭer ur tessutrem ara akken ilaq, tessutrem kan wayen yellan d nnfeɛ-nwen.
4You adulterers and adulteresses, don’t you know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.
4Ay at leɛṛuṛ ! Ur teẓrim ara belli win iḥemmlen ddunit yekṛeh Sidi Ṛebbi ? Ihi, win iḥemmlen ddunit-agi d aɛdaw n Sidi Ṛebbi.
5Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who lives in us yearns jealously”?
5Tɣilem ayen akken yuran di tira iqedsen ur yesɛi ara lqima : belli Sidi Ṛebbi iḥemmel Ṛṛuḥ iqedsen i d-iceggeɛ ad izdeɣ deg-wen armi yețțasem seg win ara iṭṭfen amkan-is ?
6But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
6Lameɛna Sidi Ṛebbi yețțak-ed ṛṛeḥma tameqqrant, akken yura di tira iqedsen : S idi Ṛebbi ur iqebbel ara wid yessemɣaṛen iman-nsen meɛna yețțak-ed ṛṛeḥma-s i wid yessanazen iman-nsen.
7Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
7Ihi ḍuɛet Sidi Ṛebbi, ur țaǧǧat ara Cciṭan a kkun-yeɣleb dɣa ad yerwel fell-awen.
8Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.
8Qeṛṛbet ɣer Sidi Ṛebbi, nețța a d-iqeṛṛeb ɣuṛ-wen. Ssizdeget ifassen-nwen ay imednuben, ṣṣfut ulawen-nwen, ay at sin udmawen.
9Lament, mourn, and weep. Let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to gloom.
9Walit lɣelṭat-nwen, meǧdet, ilaq taḍsa-nwen aț-țuɣal d imeṭṭi, lfeṛḥ nwen ad yuɣal d leḥzen.
10Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he will exalt you.
10Anzet i Sidi Ṛebbi, nețța a kkun yerfed.
11Don’t speak against one another, brothers. He who speaks against a brother and judges his brother, speaks against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law, but a judge.
11Ay atmaten, ur kkatet ara wa deg wa, win ara yewten di gma-s neɣ iḥuseb-it, yewwet-ed di ccariɛa yerna iḥuseb-iț. Ihi ma yella tewtem di ccariɛa, ur tellim ara seg wid ixeddmen wayen i d-tenna, meɛna seg wid yekkaten deg-s.
12Only one is the lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy. But who are you to judge another?
12Kečč yețḥasaben gma-k d acu i tḥesbeḍ iman-ik ? D Sidi Ṛebbi kan i gețḥasaben i d-yefkan ccariɛa, d nețța kan i gețselliken i gețțaǧan i lmut.
13Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow let’s go into this city, and spend a year there, trade, and make a profit.”
13Slet-ed tura kunwi i geqqaṛen : ass-a neɣ azekka a nṛuḥ ɣer temdint ihina, a neqqim aseggas, a netjaṛ iwakken a d-nerbeh idrimen !
14Whereas you don’t know what your life will be like tomorrow. For what is your life? For you are a vapor, that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away.
14Kunwi ur neẓri ara d acu ara wen-yedṛun azekka ! Kunwi yecban tagut i d-ițalin tɣelli !
15For you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will both live, and do this or that.”
15Meɛna ilaq aț-țeqqaṛem : ma yebɣa Sidi Ṛebbi, a nɛic am akka, ma yebɣa daɣen, a nexdem aya neɣ aya.
16But now you glory in your boasting. All such boasting is evil.
16Meɛna kunwi tesɛam ixemmimen n zzux deg ulawen-nwen. Kra yellan d zzux am wagi diri-t.
17To him therefore who knows to do good, and doesn’t do it, to him it is sin.
17Ma yella win yessnen ad ixdem ayen yelhan ur t-yexdim ara, yedneb.
