1Now before the feast of the Passover, Jesus, knowing that his time had come that he would depart from this world to the Father, having loved his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end.
1Uqbel lɛid n Tfaska n Izimer n leslak, Sidna Ɛisa yeẓra belli tewweḍ-ed teswiɛt i deg ara yeffeɣ si ddunit, akken ad iṛuḥ ɣer Baba-s. ?ef wannect-agi, isbeggen-ed leḥmala-ines i inelmaden-is yellan di ddunit, yerna yeǧǧa-yasen-d lmeɛna ț-țameqqrant.
2During supper, the devil having already put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him,
2Llan tețțen imensi n Tfaska, Cciṭan yekcem yakan deg wul n Yudas, mmi-s n Semɛun n Qeṛyut, iwelleh-it ad ixdeɛ Sidna Ɛisa, a t-yezzenz.
3Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he came forth from God, and was going to God,
3Sidna Ɛisa yeẓra belli Baba Ṛebbi yerra kullec ger ifassen-is, yeẓra s ɣuṛ Ṛebbi i d-yusa, ɣuṛ-es ara yuɣal.
4arose from supper, and laid aside his outer garments. He took a towel, and wrapped a towel around his waist.
4Yekker ɣef yimensi, yekkes abeṛnus-is, yeddem-ed yiwen ubeḥnuq (ucettiḍ) yebges yis.
5Then he poured water into the basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel that was wrapped around him.
5Syenna, yesmar-ed aman ɣer yiwet n tbaqit, yebda yessirid iḍaṛṛen n inelmaden-is, yesfeḍ-iten s ubeḥnuq-nni i gcudd ɣef wammas-is.
6Then he came to Simon Peter. He said to him, “Lord, do you wash my feet?”
6Mi gewweḍ ɣer Semɛun Buṭrus yenna-yas-d : A Sidi d kečč ara yi-ssirden iḍaṛṛen ?
7Jesus answered him, “You don’t know what I am doing now, but you will understand later.”
7Sidna Ɛisa yerra-yas : Ayen xedmeɣ akka ur t-tfehhmeḍ ara tura, ɣer zdat ara t-tfehmeḍ.
8Peter said to him, “You will never wash my feet!” Jesus answered him, “If I don’t wash you, you have no part with me.”
8Buṭrus yenna-yas : Ala ! D lmuḥal a yi-tessirdeḍ iḍaṛṛen-iw ! Sidna Ɛisa yenna-yas : M'ur k-ssardeɣ ara iḍaṛṛen-ik ur d-yeqqim wacemma i ɣ-icerken.
9Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head!”
9Semɛun Buṭrus yenna-yas : Ihi ur iyi-issirid ara iḍaṛṛen kan, ssired-iyi ula d ifassen d uqeṛṛuy-iw.
10Jesus said to him, “Someone who has bathed only needs to have his feet washed, but is completely clean. You are clean, but not all of you.”
10Sidna Ɛisa yenna-yas : Win yessarden yakan d azedgan, anagar idaṛṛen-is i geḥwaǧ a ten yessired axaṭer zeddig meṛṛa. Kunwi aql-ikkun zeddigit lameɛna mačči akken ma tellam dagi.
11For he knew him who would betray him, therefore he said, “You are not all clean.”
11Sidna Ɛisa yeẓra yakan win akken ara t-ixedɛen, daymi i genna i inelmaden-is : « kunwi ur zeddigit ara irkul. »
12So when he had washed their feet, put his outer garment back on, and sat down again, he said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you?
12Mi sen-issared iḍaṛṛen-nsen, yerra abeṛnus-is, yuɣal ɣer wemkan is yenna-yasen : Tfehmem wayen akka i wen xedmeɣ neɣ ala ?
13 You call me, ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord.’ You say so correctly, for so I am.
13Tessawalem-iyi « a Sidi » ; tesɛam lḥeqq axaṭer ț-țideț !
14 If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.
14Ma yella nekk yellan d Ssid-nwen ssardeɣ-awen iḍaṛṛen-nwen, ilaq awen aț-țețțemsiridem iḍaṛṛen wway gar-awen.
15 For I have given you an example, that you also should do as I have done to you.
15Fkiɣ-awen-d lemtel iwakken ula d kunwi aț-țxedmem akken i wen-xedmeɣ.
16 Most certainly I tell you, a servant is not greater than his lord, neither one who is sent greater than he who sent him.
16S tideț nniɣ awen : aqeddac ur yugar ara Ssid-is, amceggeɛ ur yugar ara win i t-id iceggɛen.
17 If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.
17Amarezg-nwen ma tessnem ayagi, awi-d kan a t-txedmem.
18 I don’t speak concerning all of you. I know whom I have chosen. But that the Scripture may be fulfilled, ‘He who eats bread with me has lifted up his heel against me.’ Psalm 41:9
18Mačči fell-awen meṛṛa i d-nniɣ ayagi : ssneɣ widak i xtaṛeɣ. Lameɛna ayen yuran ad yețwakemmel : « Win yeččan aɣṛum yid-i, yuɣal-iyi-d d aɛdaw.»
19 From now on, I tell you before it happens, that when it happens, you may believe that I am he.
19Nniɣ-awen-t-id si tura uqbel a d-yaweḍ, iwakken asm'ara d-yedṛu aț-țamnem belli nekk «d Win yellan.»
20 Most certainly I tell you, he who receives whomever I send, receives me; and he who receives me, receives him who sent me.”
20A wen-iniɣ tideț : win iqeblen win ara d-ceggɛeɣ d nekk i geqbel, win ara yi-qeblen yeqbel win i yi-d-iceggɛen.
21When Jesus had said this, he was troubled in spirit, and testified, “Most certainly I tell you that one of you will betray me.”
21Segmi i d-yenna annect-agi, Sidna Ɛisa yetḥeyyeṛ, dɣa yenna ɛinani : A wen-d-iniɣ s tideț, yiwen deg-wen ad iyi-ixdeɛ.
22The disciples looked at one another, perplexed about whom he spoke.
22Inelmaden-is tḥeyyṛen, qqimen țemyex?aṛen wway gar-asen. Kull yiwen yeqqaṛ deg wul-is : ?ef anwa i d-yenna imeslayen-agi ?
23One of his disciples, whom Jesus loved, was at the table, leaning against Jesus’ breast.
23Yiwen deg-sen, anelmad-nni i gḥemmel Sidna Ɛisa, yeqqim ɣer lmakla ɣer tama-s.
24Simon Peter therefore beckoned to him, and said to him, “Tell us who it is of whom he speaks.”
24Semɛun Buṭrus iwehha-yas akken a t-yesteqsi ɣef wanwa i d-ițmeslay.
25He, leaning back, as he was, on Jesus’ breast, asked him, “Lord, who is it?”
25Anelmad-nni yekna ɣer Sidna Ɛisa, yenna-yas : A Sidi, ɣef wanwa deg-nneɣ i d-tmeslayeḍ ?
26Jesus therefore answered, “It is he to whom I will give this piece of bread when I have dipped it.” So when he had dipped the piece of bread, he gave it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot.
26Sidna Ɛisa yerra-yas : Ad ssisneɣ ( seyyiɣ ) talqimt n weɣṛum di teṛbut-agi, win iwumi ara ț-fkeɣ, d winna ara yi-ixedɛen. Sidna Ɛisa yessasen talqimt n weɣṛum, dɣa yefka-ț i Yudas mmi-s n Semɛun n Qeṛyut.
27After the piece of bread, then Satan entered into him. Then Jesus said to him, “What you do, do quickly.”
27Akken kan i geṭṭef Yudas talqimt-nni, Cciṭan yekcem ul-is. Sidna Ɛisa yenna-yas : Ayen ara txedmeḍ ɣiwel xdem-it !
28Now no man at the table knew why he said this to him.
28Ger wid yellan yid-es, yiwen ur yefhim acuɣeṛ i s-yenna ayagi.
29For some thought, because Judas had the money box, that Jesus said to him, “Buy what things we need for the feast,” or that he should give something to the poor.
29Imi d Yudas i gțsewwiqen fell-asen, kra seg inelmaden nwan iwekkel-it akken a d-iqḍu i lɛid neɣ ad iseddeq i igellilen.
30Therefore having received that morsel, he went out immediately. It was night.
30Akken kan i geṭṭef talqimt-nni, Yudas yeffeɣ seg wexxam ; yuɣ lḥal yeɣli-d yiḍ.
31When he had gone out, Jesus said, “Now the Son of Man has been glorified, and God has been glorified in him.
31Mi geffeɣ Yudas, Sidna Ɛisa yenna : Tura ara d-tban tmanegt n Mmi-s n bunadem, yis ara yețwaɛuzz Ṛebbi.
32 If God has been glorified in him, God will also glorify him in himself, and he will glorify him immediately.
32Imi yis ara yețwaɛuzz, Ṛebbi daɣen ad iɛuzz Mmi-s n bunadem yerna qṛib a d-yedṛu.
33 Little children, I will be with you a little while longer. You will seek me, and as I said to the Jews, ‘Where I am going, you can’t come,’ so now I tell you.
33Ay arrac ɛzizen, aql-i mazal-iyi gar-awen meɛna ur țɛeṭṭileɣ ara. Aț-țnadim fell-i, atan ayen i nniɣ i lɣaci tura a wen-t-id-iniɣ daɣen i kunwi : «Ur tezmirem ara aț țeddum ɣer wanda ara ṛuḥeɣ » !
34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, just like I have loved you; that you also love one another.
34A wen-d-fkeɣ yiwen n lameṛ d ajdid : « myeḥmalet wway gar awen. Akken i kkun-ḥemmleɣ, myeḥmalet wway gar-awen.»
35 By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
35Ma temyeḥmalem wway gar awen, lɣaci meṛṛa a kkun-ɛeqlen belli d inelmaden-iw i tellam.
36Simon Peter said to him, “Lord, where are you going?” Jesus answered, “Where I am going, you can’t follow now, but you will follow afterwards.”
36Semɛun Buṭrus yesteqsa-t yenna-yas : A Sidi, ɣer wanda ara tṛuḥeḍ ? Sidna Ɛisa yenna-yas : Anda ara ṛuḥeɣ ur tezmireḍ ara aț-țedduḍ tura, lameɛna ɣer zdat a yi-d-tebɛeḍ.
37Peter said to him, “Lord, why can’t I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you.”
37Buṭrus yenna-yas : A Sidi, acuɣeṛ ur zmireɣ ara ad dduɣ tura ? Aql-iyi wejdeɣ ad sebbleɣ iman-iw fell-ak.
38Jesus answered him, “Will you lay down your life for me? Most certainly I tell you, the rooster won’t crow until you have denied me three times.
38Sidna Ɛisa yerra-yas : Tqebleḍ aț-țsebbleḍ iman-ik fell-i ? Tideț a k-iniɣ : uqbel ad iskkuɛ uyaziḍ a yi-tnekkṛeḍ tlata iberdan.
