2The chief priests and the scribes sought how they might put him to death, for they feared the people.

3Satan entered into Judas, who was surnamed Iscariot, who was numbered with the twelve.

4He went away, and talked with the chief priests and captains about how he might deliver him to them.
4Iṛuḥ ad yemcawaṛ d lmuqedmin imeqqranen akk-d lḥekkam iɛessasen n lǧameɛ iqedsen, iwakken a sen izzenz Sidna Ɛisa.
5They were glad, and agreed to give him money.
5Nutni feṛḥen yerna ɛuhden-t a s-fken idrimen.
6He consented, and sought an opportunity to deliver him to them in the absence of the multitude.
6Yudas yefra awal yid-sen syenna yebda yețqellib amek ara sen-t-yezzenz s tuffra ɣef lɣaci.
7The day of unleavened bread came, on which the Passover must be sacrificed.
7Yewweḍ-ed wass n Tfaska n weɣṛum mbla iɣes n tamtunt i deg ilaq ad zlun izimer n leslak.
8He sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and prepare the Passover for us, that we may eat.”
8Sidna Ɛisa iceggeɛ Buṭrus d Yuḥenna, yenna-yasen : Ṛuḥet a ɣ-theggim imensi n Tfaska.
9They said to him, “Where do you want us to prepare?”
9Nnan-as : Anda tebɣiḍ a t-nheggi a Sidi ?
10He said to them, “Behold, when you have entered into the city, a man carrying a pitcher of water will meet you. Follow him into the house which he enters.
10Yerra-yasen : M'ara tkecmem ɣer temdint, a d-temmagrem yiwen wergaz yerfed tacmuxt n waman ; tebɛet-eț ɣer wexxam anda ara yekcem.
11 Tell the master of the house, ‘The Teacher says to you, “Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with my disciples?”’
11Init i bab n wexxam-nni : yeqqaṛ-ak-d Ssid nneɣ, anda ara nečč imensi n Tfaska nekk d inelmaden-iw ?
12 He will show you a large, furnished upper room. Make preparations there.”
12A wen-d-isken yiwet n tɣuṛfeț tameqqrant iwejden, dinna ara theggim imensi n Tfaska.
13They went, found things as he had told them, and they prepared the Passover.
13Mi ṛuḥen, ufan kullec akken i sen-t-id-yenna, dɣa heggan imensi n Tfaska.
14When the hour had come, he sat down with the twelve apostles.
14Mi d-yewweḍ lweqt n imensi, Sidna Ɛisa yeqqim ad yečč nețța d Ṛṛusul-is,
15He said to them, “I have earnestly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer,
15yenna-yasen : Acḥal i mennaɣ ad ččeɣ imensi n Tfaska-agi yid-wen uqbel ad nneɛtabeɣ !
16 for I tell you, I will no longer by any means eat of it until it is fulfilled in the Kingdom of God.”
16A wen-d-iniɣ : atan ur țțuɣaleɣ ara maḍi a t-ččeɣ alamma tețwakemmel lmeɛna-ines di tgelda n Sidi Ṛebbi.
17He received a cup, and when he had given thanks, he said, “Take this, and share it among yourselves,
17Yeddem-d tabuqalt n waman n tẓurin, yeḥmed Sidi Ṛebbi yenna : Axet tabuqalt-agi, feṛqet-eț wway gar-awen,
18 for I tell you, I will not drink at all again from the fruit of the vine, until the Kingdom of God comes.”
18a wen-d-iniɣ : sya d asawen ur țțuɣaleɣ ara ad sweɣ seg waman-agi n tẓurin alamma tewweḍ ed tgeldit n Sidi Ṛebbi.
19He took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and gave to them, saying, “This is my body which is given for you. Do this in memory of me.”
19Yeddem-ed daɣen aɣṛum, iḥmed Sidi Ṛebbi, yebḍa-t yefka-yasen-t, yenna : Aɣṛum-agi d lǧețța-w ara fkeɣ fell-awen, feṛqet-eț gar-awen. Sya d asawen xeddmet akkagi akken ad iyi-d-tețmektayem.
20Likewise, he took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.
20Mi gfukk imensi, yeddem-ed tabuqalt n waman n tẓurin, yefka yasen-ț yenna : Tabuqalt-agi, d leɛqed ajdid s idammen-iw ara yazzlen fell-awen.
21 But behold, the hand of him who betrays me is with me on the table.
21Ma d win ara yi-zzenzen atan yeqqim-ed yid-i ɣer lmakla.
22 The Son of Man indeed goes, as it has been determined, but woe to that man through whom he is betrayed!”
22Mmi-s n bunadem ad immet akken yura fell-as di tira iqedsen, lameɛna a nnger n wemdan agi ara t-izzenzen !
23They began to question among themselves, which of them it was who would do this thing.
23Ṛṛusul bdan țmesteqsayen wway gar-asen anwa-t wagi ara t-ixedɛen.
24There arose also a contention among them, which of them was considered to be greatest.
24Inelmaden bdan țemjadalen wway gar-asen iwakken ad ẓren anwa deg-sen ara ițwaḥesben d ameqqran.
25He said to them, “The kings of the nations lord it over them, and those who have authority over them are called ‘benefactors.’
25Sidna Ɛisa yenna yasen : Imeqqranen n ddunit ḥekmen s ddreɛ ɣef yigduden-nsen yerna țțusemman d at lxiṛ.
26 But not so with you. But one who is the greater among you, let him become as the younger, and one who is governing, as one who serves.
26Kunwi xḍut i wannect-agi. Ameqqran deg-wen ad yili am umeẓyan, win iḥekmen ad yili am win iqeddcen.
27 For who is greater, one who sits at the table, or one who serves? Isn’t it he who sits at the table? But I am in the midst of you as one who serves.
27Anwa i d ameqqran , d amɛelem yeqqimen ad yečč neɣ d win i s iqeddcen ? Yak d win yeqqimen ad yečč ! Ma d nekk, aql-i gar-awen am win iqeddcen.
28 But you are those who have continued with me in my trials.
28Kunwi aql-ikkun tṣebṛem yid-i di lmeḥnat-iw.
29 I confer on you a kingdom, even as my Father conferred on me,
29Akken i yi-d-ihegga Baba tagelda, ula d nekk a wen-ț-id heggiɣ i kunwi
30 that you may eat and drink at my table in my Kingdom. You will sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”
30iwakken aț-țeččem aț-țeswem yid-i di tgelda-inu. Aț-țeqqimem ɣef yikursiyen n lḥekma, aț-țḥekmem ɣef tnac leɛṛac n wat Isṛail.
31The Lord said, “Simon, Simon, behold, Satan asked to have you, that he might sift you as wheat,
31Sidna Ɛisa yenna : A Semɛun sel-iyi-d ! Cciṭan yessuter a kkun-isserwet am yirden,
32 but I prayed for you, that your faith wouldn’t fail. You, when once you have turned again, establish your brothers The word for “brothers” here may be also correctly translated “brothers and sisters” or “siblings.” .”
32lameɛna dɛiɣ ɣer Sidi Ṛebbi fell-ak akken ur tfeččleḍ ara di liman. Ma d kečč m'ara d-tuɣaleḍ ɣuṛ-i, sseǧhed atmaten-ik.
33He said to him, “Lord, I am ready to go with you both to prison and to death!”
33Buṭrus yenna-yas : Aql-i heggaɣ iman-iw ad kecmeɣ yid-ek ɣer lḥebs, ad dduɣ yid-ek ula ɣer lmut.
34He said, “I tell you, Peter, the rooster will by no means crow today until you deny that you know me three times.”
34Sidna Ɛisa yenna-yas : A k-d-iniɣ a Buṭrus , ass-a uqbel ad iskkuɛ uyaziḍ ad iyi-tnekṛeḍ tlata iberdan, aț-ținiḍ ur iyi-tessineḍ ara !
35He said to them, “When I sent you out without purse, and wallet, and shoes, did you lack anything?” They said, “Nothing.”
35Yenna-yasen daɣen : M'akken i kkun-ceggɛeɣ mbla idrimen, mbla agrab, mbla arkasen, yella kra i kkun-ixuṣṣen ? Rran-as : Ur aɣ-ixuṣṣ wacemma !
36Then he said to them, “But now, whoever has a purse, let him take it, and likewise a wallet. Whoever has none, let him sell his cloak, and buy a sword.
36Yenna-yasen : Ihi tura win yesɛan idrimen neɣ agrab yawi-ten, win ur nesɛi ara ajenwi ad izzenz abeṛnus-is iwakken a d-yaɣ yiwen.
37 For I tell you that this which is written must still be fulfilled in me: ‘He was counted with transgressors.’ Isaiah 53:12 For that which concerns me has an end.”
37Axaṭer qqaṛeɣ awen : Ilaq ad yedṛu yid-i wayen yuran. « Ițțuneḥsab seg yembaṣiyen, » yerna ayen yuran fell-i, atan yewweḍ ed.
38They said, “Lord, behold, here are two swords.” He said to them, “That is enough.”
38Inelmaden-is nnan-as : A Sidi , atnan sin ijenwiyen ! Yenna-yasen : D ayen tura, beṛka !
39He came out, and went, as his custom was, to the Mount of Olives. His disciples also followed him.
39Akken yuɣ tannumi, Sidna Ɛisa yeffeɣ, iṛuḥ ɣer yiɣil n uzemmur ; inelmaden-is tebɛen-t.
40When he was at the place, he said to them, “Pray that you don’t enter into temptation.”
40Mi gewweḍ ɣer wemkan-nni, yenna-yasen : Dɛut ɣer Ṛebbi akken ur tɣellim ara deg ujeṛṛeb.
41He was withdrawn from them about a stone’s throw, and he knelt down and prayed,
41Dɣa yessebɛed iman-is fell-asen azal n kra n lmitrat, yeqqim ɣef tgecrar ideɛɛu i Ṛebbi yeqqaṛ :
42saying, “Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.”
42A Baba, ma tebɣiḍ ssebɛed fell-i leɛtab-agi i yi-țṛaǧun ; lameɛna d lebɣi-k ara yedṛun mačči d lebɣi inu.
43An angel from heaven appeared to him, strengthening him.
43Yiwen n lmelk n Sidi Ṛebbi iḍheṛ-as-d a t-yesseǧhed.
44Being in agony he prayed more earnestly. His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down on the ground.
44Iḍaq wul-is, ikețțeṛ di tẓallit armi tuɣal tidi-ines d idammen yețqiṭṭiren ɣer lqaɛa.
45When he rose up from his prayer, he came to the disciples, and found them sleeping because of grief,
45Mi gekfa, yuɣal-ed ɣer inelmaden-is, yufa-ten-id yewwi-ten yiḍes axaṭer yeɣli-d fell-asen leḥzen ameqqran ;
46and said to them, “Why do you sleep? Rise and pray that you may not enter into temptation.”
46dɣa yenna-yasen : Acuɣeṛ i tegnem ? Kkret, dɛut ɣer Ṛebbi akken ur tɣellim ara deg ujeṛṛeb.
47While he was still speaking, behold, a multitude, and he who was called Judas, one of the twelve, was leading them. He came near to Jesus to kiss him.
47Mazal-it iheddeṛ, atnaya wwḍen d lɣaci. Yudas, yiwen si tnac-nni inelmaden-is yezwar-ed zdat-sen, iqeṛṛeb ɣer Sidna Ɛisa ad isellem fell-as.
48But Jesus said to him, “Judas, do you betray the Son of Man with a kiss?”
48Sidna Ɛisa yenna yas : A Yudas, s sslam ara txedɛeḍ Mmi-s n bunadem !
49When those who were around him saw what was about to happen, they said to him, “Lord, shall we strike with the sword?”
49Wid yellan d Sidna Ɛisa, mi walan ayen ara yedṛun nnan-as : A Sidi, a newwet s ijenwiyen ?
50A certain one of them struck the servant of the high priest, and cut off his right ear.
50Yiwen deg-sen yewwet aqeddac n lmuqeddem ameqqran, igzem-as ameẓẓuɣ ayeffus.
51But Jesus answered, “Let me at least do this” —and he touched his ear, and healed him.
51Sidna Ɛisa yenna yasen : ?ebset ! Dayen tura ! Yessers afus-is ɣef wemkan n umeẓẓuɣ n uqeddac-nni, yerra-yas-t akken yella.
52Jesus said to the chief priests, captains of the temple, and elders, who had come against him, “Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs?
52Dɣa yezzi ɣer wid i d-yusan a t-ḥebsen, ɣer lmuqedmin imeqqranen d lɛuqal akk-d lḥekkam n iɛessasen n lǧameɛ iqedsen yenna yasen : Tusam-d ɣuṛ-i s ijenwiyen d iɛekzan am akken d amakar i lliɣ.
53 When I was with you in the temple daily, you didn’t stretch out your hands against me. But this is your hour, and the power of darkness.”
53Mkul ass țțiliɣ yid-wen di lǧameɛ iqedsen yiwen ur d-yerfid afus-is ɣuṛ-i. Lameɛna taswiɛt-agi ț-țaswiɛt nwen, ț-țaswiɛt n tezmert n ṭṭlam.
54They seized him, and led him away, and brought him into the high priest’s house. But Peter followed from a distance.
54Mi ṭṭfen Sidna Ɛisa, wwin-t ɣer wexxam n lmuqeddem ameqqran. Buṭrus itbeɛ-iten s lebɛid.
55When they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard, and had sat down together, Peter sat among them.

56A certain servant girl saw him as he sat in the light, and looking intently at him, said, “This man also was with him.”
56Yiwet n tqeddact twala-t-id yeqqim yeẓẓiẓin, tmuqel-it tenna : Argaz-agi daɣen yella yid-es.
57He denied Jesus, saying, “Woman, I don’t know him.”
57Lameɛna Buṭrus yenkeṛ, yenna : Ur t-ssineɣ ara a tameṭṭut !
58After a little while someone else saw him, and said, “You also are one of them!” But Peter answered, “Man, I am not!”
58Cwiṭ akka, iwala-t-id yiwen nniḍen, yenna : Kečč daɣen d yiwen seg-sen. Buṭrus yerra-yas, yenna : Ur lliɣ ara seg-sen ay argaz !
59After about one hour passed, another confidently affirmed, saying, “Truly this man also was with him, for he is a Galilean!”
59Iɛedda wazal n ssaɛa, yenṭeq-ed yiwen nniḍen yenna : Mbla ccekk argaz-agi yella yid-es axaṭer d ajlili.
60But Peter said, “Man, I don’t know what you are talking about!” Immediately, while he was still speaking, a rooster crowed.
60Buṭrus yerra-yas : Ur ẓriɣ ara d acu i d-teqqaṛeḍ ay argaz ! Werɛad yekfi ameslay... yeskkuɛ uyaziḍ.
61The Lord turned, and looked at Peter. Then Peter remembered the Lord’s word, how he said to him, “Before the rooster crows you will deny me three times.”
61Sidna Ɛisa yezzi ɣuṛ-es, immuqel-it. Dɣa Buṭrus yemmekta-d wayen i s-d-yenna Sidna Ɛisa : « Ass-agi, uqbel ad iskkuɛ uyaziḍ ad iyi-tnekṛeḍ tlata iberdan.»
62He went out, and wept bitterly.
62Yeffeɣ ɣer beṛṛa iṭṭerḍeq s imeṭṭawen axaṭer yendem.
63The men who held Jesus mocked him and beat him.
63Irgazen-nni i gɛussen Sidna Ɛisa, stehzayen fell-as kkaten-t.
64Having blindfolded him, they struck him on the face and asked him, “Prophesy! Who is the one who struck you?”
64?ɣummun-as udem-is, rnan qqaṛen-as « eɛqel ihi anwa i k-id yewten ».
65They spoke many other things against him, insulting him.

66As soon as it was day, the assembly of the elders of the people was gathered together, both chief priests and scribes, and they led him away into their council, saying,
66Mi guli wass, tajmaɛt n lɛuqal n wegdud, lmuqedmin imeqqranen d lɛulama n ccariɛa nnejmaɛen. Wwin-d Sidna Ɛisa ɣer usqamu n ccṛeɛ.
67“If you are the Christ, tell us.” But he said to them, “If I tell you, you won’t believe,
67Steqsan-t nnan-as : Ma d kečč i d Lmasiḥ, ini yaɣ t-id. Yerra-yasen : Atan ma nniɣ-awen-t-id ur iyi tețțamnem ara,
68 and if I ask, you will in no way answer me or let me go.

69 From now on, the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God.”
69Lameɛna a wen-d-iniɣ, sya ɣer zdat, Mmi-s n bunadem ad yeḥkem ɣer tama tayeffust n Sidi Ṛebbi Bab n tezmert.
70They all said, “Are you then the Son of God?” He said to them, “You say it, because I am.”
70Kkren-d akken ma llan nnan : Ihi kečč d Mmi-s n Ṛebbi ? Nețța yerra-yasen : Tennam-t-id, d nekk !
71They said, “Why do we need any more witness? For we ourselves have heard from his own mouth!”
71Imiren ɛeggḍen nnan : Dayen ur neḥwaǧ ara inigan, yenna-t-id s yimi-s, nesla-yas s imeẓẓuɣen-nneɣ.
